Villa Rosalena is a charming guest house in an historic villa, with stunning views from its bedrooms, loggia and terraces of the River Lima towards Ponte a Serraglio bridge in the unspoiled Tuscan spa town of Bagni di Lucca. It is a beautiful, tranquil spot yet restaurants, bars, local shops and the tourist information office in the former royal casino are only a few minutes walk.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights with Rod and Caroline at this charming B&B. Our room had luscious views over the area, accommodations were very nicely decorated, the room was spacious. Every morning a fabulous breakfast was presented, what a treat that was. Rod and Caroline were gracious in every way, even doing some laundry for us. They went the extra mile to answer our questions and help with directions. This is a place to recommend, and we do.

From before we even got to Italy Caroline and Rod had already offered to accommodate for my wife’s dietary needs. Each morning was a joy for us, as we were provided with a sumptuous and delicious breakfast.

Caroline and Rod are the most fantastic hosts one could ask for. Not only did they help with advice about getting around in Tuscany. Rod helped us to get to and from the station. Our stay at Villa Rosalena made all the early starts worthwhile as it was a wonderful base for seeing Tuscany. Tuscany wouldn't have been such a wonderful experience without Rod and Caroline's amazing support and kindness. We can't wait to get back to Villa Rosalena!

My husband and i stayed with our friends at Villarosalena for 5 nights in october, Rod met us at the train station and carried our cases up to our room that had the most spectacular views, nothing was ever to much trouble to him, we travelled only by train in Tusacny and he was always on hand to take and pick us up from the train station. Caroline, your breakfasts every morning were just fabulous, we always looked forward to a lovely tasty surprise every morning. On our first night at the villa Caroline cooked us all a fabulous meal which we enjoyed by candlelight out on the terrace which had the most spectacular views over the vally below. What perfect hosts and lovely couple you both are,i could go on and on praising this wonderful B&B in Tuscany, we can,t wait to return one day soon.

Our extended family stayed here in June and we had the whole place to ourselves. Very large house well fittted out including a dishwasher 2 fridges and a great Barbeque. We took the owner Rod's advice and did the local walk over the top of the hill behind the property. It was such a lovely route and showed lots of places that we had not guessed were there. All the local restaurants were very special and not expensive. We went to Lucca and Florence but always couldn't wait to get back to the arched loggia to watch the lights come on in the town and to gaze at the river. We will definitely be back.

We only stayed one night as we were on our way south but were impressed by the ideal location and the welcome we received. Rod saw us parking the car on the road and guessed we were his guests. We found him waiting for us at the bottom of the lane to help us with our luggage.
The room was simple but very clean and spacious with a well appointed bathroom. There were facilities outside in the communal area where we could help ourself to tea and coffee and a fridge which was very welcome. The views were outstanding especially from the terrace where we were lucky enough to be treated to a supper provided by Caroline who is an excellent cook. If you stay, be sure to book at least one evening meal. There was also free WI-fi throughout the property.

My husband had previously stayed at this gem of a place and had only positive compliments about Caroline, Rod and their wonderful accommodation. Everything lived up to what he had raved about, gorgeous breakfasts prepared by Caroline with a scrummy surprise every morning to delight your taste buds. We also enjoyed a fantastic dinner prepared by Caroline and served by Rod. It was the best meal we've had in our three trips to Tuscany and as previously highlighted in other reviews more than reasonable. Nothing is too much trouble for this couple, from picking you up from the station to giving advice for attractions and walks in the area, and on this occasion some wonderful recipes to take home.
If you're looking for a getaway Tuscan experience then stay here. All the main attractions are within easy reach. Hope to return soon.

Have just read the most recent review of this wonderful place and I am proud to admit that it was me who greeted my fellow guests with "Welcome to Paradise". And Villa Rosalena is truly paradise. Caroline and Rod give such a warm welcome that you feel like friends straightaway.Rod was our hero for helping with our luggage and lots of tips on where to visit, eat etc. Caroline was THE best cook, her breakfasts are legendary, with a different delicious treat every day (never looked forward to breakfast so much..) and the evening meals set on the loggia were amazing, The meals were excellent, the setting was so romantic, truly unforgettable.

We will cherish the memories of this holiday always (were really quite sad to leave).

We are hoping to return.

This is second time we have stayed at Villa Roselana. The first time, four years, ago it was just the two of us for 4 nights. This time also staying were our two adult children and their partners, again for four nights, (we love Bagni di Lucca!). And again the stay was perfect. The six of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rod and Caroline went out of their way to make our stay memorable and are always ready to help when needed. A great B & B! Breakfasts are good!

Myself, my sister and my mother travelled and stayed at Villa Rosalena in early June 2014. We were visiting for a family wedding at a nearby Villa in the Mountains... I cannot praise the Villa Rosalena highly enough in words.... Rod (the owner) is amazing, helped no end with all travel requirements we needed whilst staying , arranged all our taxis, recommended the beautiful restaurants nearby and cooked the most amazing breakfasts. Other guests staying at Villa Rosalena were also guests at the same wedding and therefore we had the whole place to ourselves. Rooms are clean and well equiped with literally the most comfortable beds i have ever stayed in .... and the views are spectacular.... I cannot wait to return to Bagni Di Luca and stay at Villa Rosalena once again...... Thank you Rod for making our stay soooo welcome, I would recommend your B&B to everyone i know.. Hopefully see you again very soon
