This house used to belong to my family for centuries; Giorgio had bought it from my great uncles many years ago. The house had fallen to despair and needed some TLC. Giorgio brought this house back to life! His attention to detail really shows when you walk through the rooms and see how beautiful they are. We have come back to stay here twice since he has taken it over and he is so kind and hospitable. He gave us a full tour and sat down with us to hear the stories that my family remembers about the house. The exterior is exactly what you imagine a Tuscan home would look like. The garden in the front is beautiful and there are tables so you can sit and enjoy the view. The rooms are just perfect: well maintained, clean, bright and updated. Giorgio himself is one of the kindest and warmest souls I have ever met. He makes a beautiful breakfast spread every morning and is more than happy to do so. He is knowledgeable about the area and places to go see. His accommodating nature makes you feel like your staying with family. Grazie per tutto, Giorgio!…
From the moment you are greeted by Giorgio you feel like you belong. You are taken back to a time when no cars drove on streets & there was one meeting place for the village. The small village in the mountains near Bagni di Lucca has only 25 permanent residents today & is a combination of elegantly restored homes connected to bombed out shells of houses from the world wars. Our room had a living room with small kitchen, bedroom & bathroom. The bathroom & rooms was newly remodeled but the home's ancient charm shone through at every turn. For breakfast, along with many breakfast options Giorgio had a tort using homemade cherry preserves from the village waiting for us. Delicious!
The rooms are quaint and beautiful. There is a lot of history and wonder in the building. Giorgio is a huge help and accommodated everything we asked. He also makes delicious home-made breakfasts everyday. I will definitely return.
A warm welcome from Giorgio, fantastic breakfast and well maintained apartment, we had a great six nights there. Thank you Giorgio and Stracchino! Close to the Marinas bar and an easy walk from the village parking. Beautiful views.
