We came to Trim without a reservation and asked the Information Center about our options. We were lucky that there had been a cancellation at the Highfield House. Can't say enough about it. The grounds are beautiful, the room furnishings are elegant, and the breakfast was perfect. We had other plans and only stayed one night, but wish we would...

We loved this B&B and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is in a great location, just minutes from town, across the street from the Trim Castle and geographically in a great location for exploring the sites in County Meath. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts offered at this B&B were outstanding. The hosts were...

Greeted by a lovely lady. Hotel and room were elegantly furnished, but room was way too small for oversized furniture and had to turn sideways to enter the bathroom door as it was blocked by a giant armoire. Was the worst night of the trip with old lumpy mattress and terribly perfumed sheets/blankets. No shower, just a sprayer in the...

This is a good country manor style house, offers excellent location if you are visiting Trim Castle. If you are visiting Newgrange, Knowth it would be about 1/2 to 3/4 hour drive away. Friendly & helpful host, has wifi in room. Room is tastefully decorated though small, it has enough space for all the basic requirements.

We spent our first night in Ireland in Trim. Earlier in the day we went to Newgrange, Knowth, and the Hill of Slane. Highfield House has a great location near Trim Castle. We enjoyed walking the town of Trim, including the paths along the river. There is free on-site parking at this B&B, that Rick Steves says used to be...

Next trip to Ireland, I'll start here and plan a few extra nights! Melanie and Geraldine were great hosts and went out of there way for us, even leaving a tray of fresh fruit, scones, yogurts at our door for a very, very early flight out. The room was beautiful, the bathroom huge, and we were steps from the castle...

We chose Trim--and specifically Highfield House--for our last night in Ireland, thinking it to be a nice alternative to an airport hotel. And it definitely was although it meant a little more driving on narrow country roads than we would have liked coming from Galway. It's a lovely town though (sadly we didn't have much time to explore it) and...

We only stayed one night at Highfield House but wish we could have stayed longer. Lots to do in the town of Trim and nearby. The B&B was lovely! Beautifully decorated and the rooms were very clean and welcoming. We stayed here on our last night in Ireland, and had an early flight out in the morning. We were not...

We landed in Dublin, rented our car and fled the city for the lush Irish countryside! Trim was our destination and it was the perfect start to our Ireland holiday. The Highfield House is situated across from Trim castle overlooking the rolling fields of the castle grounds. Gorgeous! Our room was small but cozy, beautifully furnished and comfortable. There was...

We are disappointed in our two night stay. We arrived after a full day of driving from Westport. We came inside and rang the bell. A young woman answered the door and asked our name, then closed the door. A few minutes later she returned, told us to follow her. We climbed the stairs around the corners to our room....
