Detailed Reviews

Our family (two parents, two students and a child) stayed 4 nights in this hotel. We booked a triple and a double room with half board service. We were satisfied with the hotel, would use again, and yes, we would recommend to a friend.

Booking: We asked for a proposal through email and within an hour or two we received offer for a package deal which included breakfast, dinner and free use of bathrobe. To confirm booking an advance of HUF 10,000 (appr. EUR 35) was required which was appr. 5-6% of the price of the package.

Arrival: The hotel can be found easily, because it is next to the main road Kossuth Lajos utca (Road 58). Check-in was fast, no credit card was required for check-in. Check-out and payment was also fast and hassle-free.

Hotel: The hotel is situated in the centre of Harkány, not far from the Harkány Spa. But fortunately it is in a quiet environment. The interior of the hotel is nice, at many areas with Zsolnay porcelain decorations. The hotel has free parking in front of the hotel. Rooms have free wifi, fast enough to read our emails and check for the weather forecast.

Rooms: The rooms were nicely designed, room furniture and bathroom were made of good materials. The room furniture was the most practical I have ever seen in hotels, we can easily pack all of our clothes and accessories in the cupboards. There was a quite big safe in the cupboard, where we could store all our values including an SLR camera body with 300mm and other lenses. The balcony looked over a nice square with fountain. LCD TV with some 30 channels and minibar was also in the room. Rooms had air condition. The rooms were clean.

Wellness: It comprises of a 7x4m indoor swimming pool, sauna, oriental style steam cabin and a Jacuzzi, massage rooms. Though it seems a bit undersized for the hotel, it was never too busy and we used a couple of times the facilities but if two families in the wellness, it’s full.

Breakfast and dinner: Breakfast in the hotel was buffet of high standard. Only the juice (one type only) was a bit below standard and maybe more selection of fruits would be recommended. The buffet dinner was excellent with a plentiful choice of meals (both Hungarian and international cuisine). The buffet dinner is reasonable priced if someone orders half board service. Wine of the house is also good and cannot be regarded expensive (0.5litre portugieser appr. HUF 900 or EUR 3). Waiters were very polite and helpful, we especially liked the old man with grey hair.

Staff: There are no dedicated receptionists. Staffs do multiple jobs based on demand, serve the coffee at the bar or help the waiters at breakfast and dinner. Everybody was kind, helpful and responsive to our wishes.

Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. Should you have any problems, ask the staff, they are friendly and helpful.

A very nice hotel in the heart of Harkány. It is not far by walk from Thermal Spa Harkány. In the meantime it is 4 km from other famous spa center in Siklós.
ROOM: We rented a family room. The room is very clean and it was very silent. For family with two kids it is eligible.
SPA: The temperature of water in the larger pool is little bit cold. But the Jacuzzi is a very cool stuff.
RESTAURANT: Excellent quality and choice of food for breakfast and dinner, too. I recommend the restaurant for everyone who chooses this hotel.
STAFF: Very friendly, helpful and always smiling staff.
OVERALL: It was our pleasure staying couple of days in this hotel. We will return here if we will have time to spend here another long weekend.

3 days spent there.
The hotel is very well located about 500 m walking distance from the Spa.
The room was clean and really quite.
The breakfast is quite simple and does not reflect the price and the starts of the Hotel.
The restaurant was quite “dead” in the evening so we decided to eat out.
What I didn’t like: there is no closed parking lot for the guests like most of the hotels in the town.

It was a big disappointment as the unprofessional sales colleague confirmed us (a family of four) a room which actually do not exist in the hotel ( 1 bedroom suit) therefore it was a big surprise when entering the room with only one space for 4 of us. We complained but no result. Due to a long bank holiday weekend, no chance to change the hotel with 2 little kids. As an "extra" in the room we needed to get rid of 25 bugs from the curtains, ceiling, carpet which did not add to our comfort.
Breakfast was okay but same every morning, the dinner was below average.
I do not recommend the hotel for families and for gourmands at all and we definitely will not go back there.

This review applies only to the restaurant as we did not stay at the hotel. Menu was large and available in English, German. The interior is very nice and its clean- as expected of course. Food was excellent and staff was flexible to our wishes. Prices were well worth it, great food and drinks for your money. Do ask for their red wine (special casket)- to die for, alternatively the pancakes!

We stayed in this hotel for 6 days in july 2010 and had a good time there. The neighbourhood is very quiet. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Airco was good working.Service was rather good. At the information desk, people were kind and helpful. The restaurant was not cheap and the wine was really expensive. Therefore we went in the evening to different good but cheaper restaurants in the same street.

We went for dinner at Oliva restaurant. We opted for à la carte menu. We chose to sit inside the restaurant. All the tables were laid nicely. The food was very tasty, we opted for a cucumber salad, fried foie gras, chicken and filled trout dish. All very tasty. However, the staff could have been more attentive.
