This village looks wonderful on the outside but dont be fooled. The studio that we was allocated was like a prison room. The beds were wood bases with mattresses. The facilities were non existent. The room was sparse and gloomy. We grudgingly upgraded to an apartment cost us more money. Much better . Staff ok. Pool wonderful. Lassi is lovely. Staff obliging. Mini market non existent, cooking utensils same. Kettle on a basic 3 in 1 cooker.come on owners update them

After COVID and not having been away for three years, I travelled to Kefalonia for a quick relaxing holiday back in early June. We stayed at Liberatos Village as my partner had stayed here a few times before. The pool is the best in the area hands down and the view is just to die for! We had a room on the first floor that was right in front and so the view was something to behold waking up everyday! I found the staff friendly, helpful (gave me an iron etc). The rooms are clean and although outdated, having only paid abour £250 for the week, I think this is agood place to stay! We rented a quad to get around as the hill can be a challenge for the less than fit. The best souvlaki I had during my stay and the prices were reasonable. I will definitely stay here again and again, nothing beats that pool!!!

We returned last week from a two week holiday in Kefalonia where we stayed at Liberatos Village for the second time. We had a fantastic time there. Before arriving we had been in contact with the hotel to request a sea view room with a balcony and a travel cot for our baby. Communication and responses from the hotel before our arrival were really quick and all of our requests were met. The pool is fantastic - really large and clean and allows the use of kilos/rubber rings which I know some hotels next door do not. The pool bar is also great and serves delicious food - especially recommend the pizzas! All of the staff are really friendly and cannot do enough to make sure that your are having a fantastic holiday. We needed medical attention for our daughter and they were immediately there helping us. Rooms are basic but have everything you need and are kept really clean. The hotel is up a steep hill but it is certainly manageable - we are of moderate fitness and managed it every day with a double buggy in tow. If you struggle with the hill though there are plenty of taxis at the bottom of the hill ready to take you up for 6 euros. The location of the hotel is brilliant - a very short walk to dozens of tavernas and bars. We were there for two weeks and didn't manage to visit them all. Also very nearby to supermarkets and five minutes from the capital of Argostoli with more fantastic shops and restaurants. It is also a short walk from the beautiful Makris Gialos beach. We hired a car from CBR Rental for 4 days and visited Myrtos beach, Antisamos, Sami, Melissani, Fiskardo and Lixouri all of which are within an hour of Liberatos (slightly over an hour to Fiskardo) All in all we could not recommend Liberatos Village enough. We absolutely love Kefalonia and will be sure to return again in the future and will be staying at Liberatos (for the third time) when we do. A huge thank you to all of the staff for ensuring we had such a wonderful holiday. See you again soon.

Sam says excellent. Rhona says poor. I agree with Rhona. First, it’s not on the main road. Maze like location up a hill is hard to find. My room was severely lacking in basic amenities. Kitchen equipment in disrepair, unsafe to use. Sparse furnishings. I had to use my pillow to sit on the outside patio furniture. There’s a wonderful pool and bar next to the pool. So + 1*. Great surroundings. I walked through the garden and orchard and found lime, pear, fig, and olive trees growing well. I heard great stories from the former Pakistani gardener. The staff in general were outstanding especially Mina…So + 1*

This could be a fabulous resort, it has a lovely pool and thanks to the cleaners it is very clean ,however the appartments are very tired with a small cooker hob below waist level with a kettle that has to be heated on hob, this is definitely not safe if you have children the whole cooking unit heats up if hob used , kettle lid falls off when pouring, linen and mattresses all needing renewed as very stained. Most uncomfortable outside patio furniture made from metal, no Comfort inside 1 pillow per person no cushions not even a dish towel to dry washing up. Asked for string to put washing on as advertised we should have had drying rack, still waiting on it ,asked possible electric kettle ,this is not possible which seemed to be the response to any request, our toilet was making a terrible noise asked man sitting at bar on first night if he knew who we should speak to and he said he didn't know , turned out he was the owner of the resort unbelievable attitude, manager was exactly the same no Greek hospitality here such a shame as 1 weeks rental fee could probably refurbish appartment and a bit of greek hospitality would make a massive difference . Top of a very steep hill €7 for taxi back up hill. 5 stars to cleaners as cleanliness and pool only redeeming factors.

I cannot understand the negative reviews towards this place. Although basic, I have paid much more for worse rooms in Greece, we both slept soundly throughout our stay. As for the pool area, both the pool bar, the view and the pool itself are among my favourites from previous stays in Greece. The food available from the pool bar was better than some evening offerings in Argostoli, meanwhile the helpful and approachable staff made us feel very welcome. The only issue I can see for some people is the large hill up to liberatos which may be too much for older guests, but we didn’t mind especially considering the views from our large balcony and from the pool. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and I would expect the ratings of this place to go up quickly if the stay we experienced continue for others over the summer

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Liberatos. The pool area is lovely with wonderful sea views and glorious sunsets. The apartments are set in well maintained beautiful grounds, where you will come across roaming chickens in some areas. Eggs from the chickens are used for breakfast, so guaranteed fresh, breakfast itself is a simple affair but was adequate for us. The owners are very approachable, very friendly and are lovely genuine people. Our room (G5) was very spacious, had two sets of patio doors opening onto a large balcony and had glorious views of the sea and over to Lixouri, we loved it. We have stayed in a 3 other hotels in this vicinity and this was the best value and our favourite.

We stayed at Liberatos village for one week. I read a few mixed reviews on here so I wondered what it was like! The poolside bar is very good, friendly staff, cold beer and stunning sunsets. You will also have your breakfast here which is very good. Scrummy Greek yoghurt and honey, bacon and eggs coffee and juice for me. The rooms are spacious and have everything you will need. Plenty of hot water and a good shower over the bath. Any problems we had were dealt with quickly and the manager went to the trouble of getting a new hair dryer for my wife, who did not bring her own. A nice touch we thought. Please feed the very friendly cats they will appreciate it! The hill may be an issue if you are not good at walking but you get lovely views from Liberatos and we enjoyed the walk.

Lovely pool area lovely view. Staff helpful and accommodating. We asked to be moved to a sea-view room and the manager/ receptionist moved us the next day. No on site shop and hill up to hotel is quite steep. I was charged 2 euros for a glass of milk to make a cup of tea which I thought was a bit steep. Apparently we found out that some supermarkets will pay for a taxi back up that hill if you spend over 20 euros in the supermarket. Air con is free saftey box is free. Linen and towels not the best. I wouldn't stop here again.

Stayed here 6-13 August. We had 2 x studio's and 1 x one bedroom apartment. After reading some reviews before we arrived we were concerned that the rooms wouldn't be up to scratch. We were all pleasantly surprised. Everywhere spotlessly clean and really good aircon in all the rooms. Didn't have to pay extra for it which is unusual in Greece. All the rooms had a safe too which were FOC. The self catering facilities are basic. A small oven with a few electric rings on top. We ate out all the time but you could cook some basics if you wanted to. The beds were okay, bit hard but you get used to them after a night or two.. The showers in the studios were tiny but in the 1 bed apartment the shower was over a bath and the water pressure was lovely and powerful with loads of hot water. All balconies/terraces were a decent size but the furniture on them was really uncomfortable - very old metal stuff! Facilities on site were limited - there was a bar around the pool which served decent breakfast and lunch but that was about it really. The pool bar was quite expensive for drinks but reasonable for food. A small water was one euro 500ml and in town you could buy like 9 litres for 1.80! There were always plenty of sun loungers and the view from the pool was pretty special. The apartments are located in a really quiet area up the hill that everyone mentions. By quiet I mean there was no noise coming from bars or anything so you could get a decent nights sleep. Now the Hill - It's pretty steep and considering is was 35 degrees when we were there is was pretty tough going to walk up it.. Coming down was a breeze. ten minutes max. As it was so hot we just got a taxi back up every day which cost 5 euro so all good. Reception will phone taxis for you too if you don't fancy the walk down.. Taxi from the apartments to Agostoli was only 6 euros too! Overall, we were all happy with our stay at these apartments. Just remember its Greece and don't expect 5* luxury. If you want family friendly, basic, clean and safe accommodation you'll be fine.
