We used this hotel for one night only, after landing in Heraklion and before continuing on to the southwest of Crete. The hotel is decent, with friendly staff and fair prices: 30 euros for a single room, 40 euros for a double one, breakfast included. Small rooms, but for one night this has not been a problem.
I paid just on £1000 for a "superior" apartment with sea view at Dimitra. The superior room was actually down a road from Dimitra, on top of a smelly Chinese restaurant, view obscured by restaurant roof and sign. Entrance is right next to screen door of kitchens frying the meals. The room was like a dingey grey prison cell, tiny shabby bathroom, paint peeling off walls. There is no mention in the description that superior apartments are down the road away from Dimitra, its pool and restaurant. The owner was very rude and insulting, offered us an alternative downgrade to standard room in main building which looked out onto a wall and the bathroom was so small the shower curtain draped into sink one way and toilet the other side. The owner refused to offer us a decent superior apartment and still refuses to refund our money albeit we had to leave and search for a replacement accommodation for 2 weeks and pay out for a further booking. We stayed 1 night but neither owner or booking.com will compensate or refund. DO NOT STAY HERE, the breakfast was also the pooreset quality I have ever experienced...it is more like a prison than a holiday accommodation..very disappointed and upset at how badly we have been treated…
I have now spent five consecutive holidays in this excellent hotel which for me is now a home from home. The staff are absolutely fantastic.. Tim is undoubtedly the most helpful member of staff ever... nothing is too much trouble and any issues are dealt with immediately with utmost friendliness and efficiency. Krasimira the afternoon receptionist is totally delightful and again friendly, helpful and welcoming. The domestic staff all deserve a mention too, my linen and towels all being changed every other day and the kitchen staff prepareing delicious food for breakfast every day and always with a smile. Thank you Dimitra for another fantastic holiday last month, I will see you all again next year 😊
The staff and accommodation was good but the shower in the room was terrible. The shower curtain didn’t reach the ground and as a result, the bathroom floor was full of water. The apartments are in a good location though with an excellent restaurant almost across the road (TZO tavern).
The location is great, because it is very close to the Heraklion airport. The hotel has a great pool with part of it 2,4 m deep. The breakfast is very good also. The beach is very close. It is just across the street and is very nice too. Good restaurants are in the vicinity too. All in all, it was very good and if I ever return to the Crete island would stay again.
Since my mother and I were only having a weeks holiday, we chose Dimitra hotel and apartments because of it’s close proximity to the airport. We were not disappointed. The hotel is beautifully clean and well maintained. Every member of staff were polite, courteous, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was tasty and ample choice available. Great place to take the bus to many other resorts, buses regular and bus stop very close by. Beach only 50 metres from hotel, plenty tavernas close by. Pan Asia restaurant next to the hotel was superb again staff very friendly and the food was excellent. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat and will definitely visit again. A big thanks to all the staff who made us feel so welcome.
Perfectly suited for families; I stayed with my son and mother in one of the apartments. It's a quiet, clean, friendly place, right across the street from the beach. I liked everything about this accommodation: breakfast (pretty diverse: eggs, cereals, good coffee, croissants, greek feta pies, jams and chocolate), the apartament itself as it was clean, perfectly suited for a small family (one bedroom, one living room with a couch and a small kitchen). Something that i really appreciated about this place is that it had curtains and the room could get very dark - sometimes, travelling with a small child this is really important. Staff is really friendly and they even have several salads if you don't want to eat out. We spent almost every evening having a drink by the pool. Weather was perfect. Even though many families with children choose this hotel, it was very quiet at noon and in the evening so it's a great choice if you want to rest. The hotel is located in a very small village but it's right across the street from the bus station taking you to Heraklion (island's capital) in 20 minutes, for 2 euro each way. …
We took one week during june in this great Hotel. Is so familiar, great stuff with traditional greek food. Beach was near to the Hotel, swimming pool and area around always clean. Rooms big and cleaned every day. My small kids enjoyed it to.
Very surly host. Come to my birthday - no congratulations. Breakfast is monotonous, choice is small. 2 days in the morning there was no hot water. The only bright spot in this hotel is the receptionist Krasimira. Kind, sensitive, friendly. Nice view from the window
6 of us stayed here for 4 nights mid September. Budget hotel for a wedding on the island which was why it was chosen. Rooms themselves are basic but clean and provide what you need. Staff were really helpful and friendly the entire stay. Would certainly recommend!
