We loved the place which was close to everything. The staff was very friendly. They welcomed us and provided us with all useful information. The rooms were very clean and fully equiped with a fridge, plates, cups, cooking pots and an oven. We would go back there😊

We stayed at the Elpis Hotel for five days having found it online. This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in Greece, and we are Greek! The location is perfect, many shops, bars and restaurants around and just two minutes walking distance from the bus station to Heraklion and five minutes from the bus station to Hersonissos-Stalis-Malia. The staff here were so friendly and helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! George- the owner- is always smiling and very welcome, he couldn’t do enough to help you and that’s what made this hotel so special. From the first moment you can realize that he knows how to manage the hotel professionally. The first night we met Giorgos -the bartender- who looked after us every night providing very good quality bar service and being very warming making us feel very comfortable and relaxed to be around. Special thank you to Mrs Antonia, the housekeeper, who works so hard to keep the hotel spotless and she is so friendly and always smiling. We spent 8 days in the hotel and we can definitely recomend it to others. Hotel was clean, hotel staff very friendly and helpful, good location with many places to visit near by. Owner of the hotel gave us perfect recomendations for nice trips around Crete. Its very difficult to find something negative on our stay there. Maybe rooms are little bit small, but you have there everything you need to have nice holiday.

I strongly recommend staying at Elpis! The hosts are extremely friendly, they advised during our stay, they told us what to see, we also got some information about the people of Crete, it is interesting. Rooms are clean - cleaned every day. The room has air condition, small kitchen and bathroom. The building is located very close to a nice sandy beach. The larger shops and restaurants are also not far away.

SUCH value for the money you pay!! George and his brother John are both wonderful, so friendly, and had loads of travel tips to help maximize our time in Crete. We were a 2 min walk to a beautiful beach where it was 5€ for the whole day for 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. The bus stop was across the street and on average 2€ to the center of Heraklion or to Malia beach! Rooms are super clean and basic but exactly what we needed! The aircon was a plus! Great place we would for sure return!

Firstly amazing welcome and hospitality from the hosts including the young boy of the family who is destined to be a concierge one day! Room simple but everything you need, nice balcony, air conditioning and kitchen. Nice breakfasts of different types can be cooked on request for you which makes life easy. Location I think is great! A short walk to the beach, I preferred the one without any loungers on as there were hardly any people on it and lots of space. The sea is as expected amazing. Short transfer from airport. €2 journey to heraklion and bus stop across the road, loads of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. In short would happily return!

We chose a cheap stopover after having a late arrival time and what a pleasant surprise we had. Great wrap around balcony overlooking the main street perfect for people watching and only a two minute walk to a great beach. Do not go expecting 5 star accommodation (5 star service yes!) but this is reflected in the price very cheap but well worth the money. Quite basic but immaculately clean everything you need and George is fabulous!! Very very friendly and so helpful and knowledgeable of the island, he gives you his time and will happily tell you all the best places to visit! We will definitely go again x

We spent 10 days and had the best time in Crete staying in Elpis studios! The rooms and the premises are really clean, the cleaning lady is very flexible, kind and accommodating. Room includes the basics for a good stay and is in a convenient location. However, number one reason to go back, are the people! Both guys are the most friendly hosts you can find, they will gladly share all their secrets for the island and help you with anything you might think of asking. Morning George makes the best greek coffee and is always cheerful and ready for a chat. Night George makes the best cocktails in the area and has always a funny story to share! Definitely recommended!

We had a really nice 10 day holiday there. The studio was pretty basic but had everything we needed and was very clean. My husband is Italian so we often used the two hot plates in the room to cook pasta dishes or simple meals. We had a small balcony and often had dinner there, a tight fit but OK. There were two small shops very near and a big supermarket about 200 yds away. The restaurant next door was ok for basic greek cooking or a pizza. There were other restaurants a bit further down the street which had more complete menus The price we paid included air conditioning and room safe, two things which often are not included in the room price and have to be paid extra. The owner, George, and his assistant, George, both could not do enough for us and were always ready to help with information or anything else needed. Elphis Hotel was excellent value for money and we would love to stay there again and would certainly recommend the hotel to others. The bus stop to Heraklion was 20 yds away, the bus to the other resorts on the coast was 80 yards away. Don't bother with a taxi to the hotel as the bus to/from Heraklion stops right at the airport, (2 euro per person). Guests at Elphis Hotel have free use of the swimming pools at the two hotels across the road but we preferred to use the beach at the Themis Hotel, lots of room and only 5 euro for two sunbeds and an umbrella.
