I have eaten here several times while in the area and always enjoy it. The food, service and ambiance are always great. While I usually order Wiener Schnitzel, which is excellent, I switched and ordered the Rump Steak, another outstanding choice. There are many other impressive choices on the menu. When the weather permits, there is a large patio with umbrellas located in a natural setting. Very reasonably priced, it is a sure bet while in the Nettetal , Viersen area.
The outside of the hotel looks more like a farm and the reception is part of the restaurant. But then after checking in, and heading towards the stairway up to my room I was quite surprised. The first thing I noticed was an extremely pleasant smell.
Very clean and fresh.
The room as well was a nice surprise. I loved the wooden floors. The room was large and spacious. The bathroom also had a nice size and the towels were clean. Everything in this room was exceptionally clean and the interior was quite new and very well maintained.
Maybe it was just me but I found the television was a bit awkward. I had troubles turning it on even though there was a description.
But why does a TV need a description in the first place?
Wi-Fi is free but slow.
We had dinner at the hotel which was lovely and breakfast was good enough.
This hotel is a wonderful stay for a night or two.
The hotel is next to a substantial equestrian centre which does mean there can be some country smells but nothing significant and certainly nothing to put you off.
Rooms are spacious enough and bright (no A/C but windows which open wide, it was 36C when i visited and still cool) and the staff pleasant and helpful always greeting you with a smile and good morning. Food is also good, the menu isnt the largest but is of a good quality and there is an English version if you dont speak German. There is also a restaurant a short walk up the road which does good fish dishes if you fancy a change of scenery.
"All rooms are quiet, but the ones facing the stables (away from the road) are quiter still."Read full review
