They were delightful at check-in, but that was only the beginning (more later)! The room was very nice and had a view of the sea. The weather was less than perfect (chilly, windy, light rain), but it didn't dampen our enjoyment of the hotel. The balcony was very nice and had chairs that we could sit on when it wasn't... More

I've been here on several occasions on business trips. Never had any problems or reason to complain. For the novelty factor they have blue sheep I'd recommend it no problem whatsoever The service is good. The rooms and mini suites are very nice and the restaurant serves a good English & continental breakfast too.

It's difficult to rate hotels and compare them in various countries. I rate this hotel by EU standards for a small town. The hotel is very clean, the people are friendly, most spoke some English (and were patient with me who speaks no German), and their wifi worked great. I would recommend this hotel for anyone doing business in the... More

This hotel is right next to the beach with most rooms having balcony to enjoy the view. Plenty of restaurants attached and around the hotel As with most European hotels, they do not have wash cloths. Make sure to pack one for your use. There are no English menus in the surrounding restaurants, but most people speak English, so you... More

I LOVE this resort. The rooms are as beautiful as the views out to the sea. My husband and I had so much fun at the outside cafe by the boardwalk. The food is great. Nette and Kristian Kamp, owners of the resort, are so welcoming. We enjoyed touring the historic hotel with them learning its history and enjoying all... More

Great location right on the beach promenade. Cosy little town, with a lot of small shops. Great ocean view from the room, which had a modern standard. Though the bed was very soft. The breakfast buffet was great and nothing beats the ocean view which follows. Didn't get to use the Spa, but had a look at it. It seems... More

Stayed in Strandhotel Duhnen for the first time for four days. View from the breakfast room is breathtaking. The room was one bed since I travelled alone. Clean and well cut and comfortable and very nice bathroom. The chef knows his fish. So after trying the fish soup I did not go away from fish any more for four days.... More

The Strand-Hotel Duhnen is a first-class **** property right by the North Sea. It is the main hotel in Duhnen, a spa village belonging to Cuxhaven, just between Elbe and Weser, at the northern tip of Lower Saxony, easily reached by train and car (Autobahn). Situated right at the main dyke crossing, the house commands a fabulous view of the... More
