Jason and I absolutely loved the hotel and the room's magnificent view. Further, we were very touched to see a presentation on the bed recognizing Jason's birthday and the delicious chocolate covered strawberry platter . We would both like to make a special note of the bartender, Pedro. He was exceptionally attentive, informative, and entertaining. He is truly an asset to your property. Thank you for hospitality and would definitely stay there again in the future. Sincerely, Jason Minor David Stoner-Bell DATE OF STAY: February 2023
We had a wonderful stay at Poco a Poco! The property is amazing and full of wildlife. The gardens are beautiful and walking the trails are a great way to start the day. EVERY single breakfast was sooooo good! By far the best property we stayed at on the entire trip.
Stayed here overnight when on a tour and have to say it was the best hotel we stayed in. Why? The location on the outskirts of Monteverde, just a ten minute drive to the national park. Despite being rated at three star hotel, it was was perfect for me, with colourful luscious gardens and a beautiful pool. The room was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The restaurant provided fresh tasty food with a local flavour, not the usual ‘tourist food’, which we really enjoyed. I would have have liked to have stayed longer but we were on an organised tour. Definitely recommend.
We have stayed for 2 nights Arrived early, great reception staff very professional and had all information on local activities and helped us to book . The location is such that there are lots of activities eg bird watching and adventure activity available and also a small town with restaurants etc catering for all. Room was ready, it’s spacious and for us clean tidy and very good value No air conditioning but an electric fan which did the same as air con Often asked the bed, well it’s fairly hard but we found no issues and slept well The grounds and setting are very good and very tranquil loads of birds in trees and a little walk in the grounds Pool is enclosed with open frontage and a very small area for sun beds didn’t inspire us at all to be honest All round a lovely stay and we would highly recommend it.…
It’s a no frills hotel. Very disappointed. The hot tub was broken, the pool bar tender was rude. There weren’t any Kleenex in the room. Cleanliness was mediocre. Would not stay there again. They were accommodating with giving us breakfast to go when we left early to catch a flight.
We actually stayed at Monteverde Country Lodge, Poco a Poco’s sister, which is very nice although more on the rustic side, conveniently situated close to restaurants and hiking (Hidden Valley). The Lodge doesn’t have a pool and we were told we had access to Poco a Poco’s, so we went there every day to enjoy the beautiful, modern grounds: pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, lights, garden and so on. Everyone is so friendly and helpful: Maria at the Lodge, Kevin, the manager, and Pedro at the pool bar who makes the best Pina Coladas in the world! Pura Vida! ❤️
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of Jules Verne Garden of Eden tour. The first room we were given had a tiny window in it and felt like a cardboard box, also quite noisy as kitchen were next door. We moved for our second night which was a much better room. There is only a ceiling fan but no air conditioning. Bathrooms are good. We ate in restaurant on our first night and food was well presented and tasty. Breakfasts are a la carte. Beautiful pool with swim up bar. Difficult to get a drink after 9 pm as no apparent bar. Lovely location and gardens. Close to shops and restaurants.
Very comfortable rooms and clean. Bed and pillows were great. You can walk to town. Mall with restaurants was across the street. Beautiful landscape and view of the mountain. Restaurant had a good breakfast. Staff very courteous and friendly.
Really well thought out retreat with excellent service from very friendly staff. The rooms are well positioned for quietness and to take advantage of the abundance of wildlife in the trees and foliage around the grounds. It was nice to have a happy hour and well received by all who participated.
It itva nice hotel, located in walking distance to everything around town. I'd have preferred a buffet breakfast over selecting 1 item from a menu. It's a comfortable place with great staff that were accommodating. Monteverde is a great place to visit with lots of tours in the area
