I stayed here for 2 nights in a single room with private bathroom @ $25 per night. Very happy with experience. At least 90% of the guests are non Tico foreigners. Breakfast coupons are given for redeeming at the "Taco Taco" food stand which is next to the hotel. Clothing lines are available for drying.

These guys know it all, tours, transportation, food, whatever you need to know. The rooms are nice and clean, the wifi fast and the free taco breakfast delicious. The one thing that made us love this place though, was the people at the reception (all of them)! All their information was firsthand, they did the tours themselves, can tell you...

I spent 3 weeks travelling around Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua and can honestly say that this was the best hostel I stayed in the whole time. It is so friendly, there was always someone to talk to. I met so many people here and hopefully made some lifetime friends! The hostel is clean, comfortable and has great communal areas,...

When we sat down to write reviews at the end of our trip, the whole family wanted to talk about Pension Santa Elena first. The staff at the pension were amazing, they gave us great advice on what to see and do in Monteverde, and not just the touristy stuff. They know a lot about Costa Rica, not just Santa...

This place was fantastic. The staff are insanely helpful and truly do not pressure you to do anything. They even gave us suggestions on what to do in the next town we wen to!! The private room was small but functional and there is hot water (it's the right handle and you have to be careful or the cold water...

We stayed two nights in Pension Santa Elena. The atmosphere in the hostel was very nice and friendly, and the staff were extremely helpful when it came to traveling tips. Rooms were a bit basic but good for the price. The neighboring tex-mex restaurant (which serves the included breakfast) had some of the best burritos I have ever tried. It...

We stayed two nights and enjoyed ourselves very much. The staff were very helpful, always friendly and oriented us immediately to our surroundings and the possible things we could do. We had a private room in the new section which had a very comfortable bed and hot water in the shower. It was very busy with some families and small...

Great price for a great hostel. I stayed in a dorm room for 2 nights, the room was basic but spacious and clean, the other private cabins looked great. The communal area has a really nice vibe, the free coffee was always hot. The best thing about this place is the staff, so friendly, not pushy at all and very...

We stayed 6 nights and would highly recommend this hostel. We had a private room in the gardens and it was clean and had good hot water in the shower... maybe a few hooks to hang up clothes would help ! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions and booking tours. The breakfast voucher for Taco Taco next...

I arrived in Monte Verde and the first thing that I did was check out all of the hostels for the best deal. Pension was the first one I checked out, and was ultimately the one I settled for. And gladly. Although it is the most expensive dorm in town ($12), the atmosphere, helpful staff, backyard space and comfortable common...
