We loved this place. We took a private room with a bathroom. It was big and clean. There's a nice common kitchen. The hosts are very kind and helpful. The free coffee they serve all day long is very great :) There was so much...More
Really happening hostel (but quiet enough after 10pm) with lots of fantastic & friendly information. We took a guided tour of the Curi-cancha reserve with Ronald & saw quetzals & a toucan. Amazing. The night tour was also really good (although slightly bigger groups of...More
I stayed in a room with private bathroom and breakfast for U$S 23-25. Staff was friendly and willing to answer my questions, to advise me and to solve any problems. I hired two trips through the pension, they were both great.
Usually I don't go to hostels or similar places. I normally prefer big resorts with all types of facilities. But I stayed in Pension Santa Elena for 2 nights with my wife and 3 kids for diferent reasons. And we enjoyed our stay very much....More

As the other respondent said, the shuttle is not free, but I can't really imagine it would be as Santa Elena is way up in the mountains. A resort close to the airport could have a free shuttle theoretically, but I never saw any free shuttles really. There are plenty of transportation options for tours and activities. Sometimes the place that you get the tour will send transport or the kind folks at the pension can help arrange things for you.
