Clean, cozy room. Awesome, super helpful, bilingual staff. Free local coffee in the morning and breakfast at Taco Taco. Hot water, extra blankets, communal kitchen and fridge, great location in the middle of the cute town of Santa Elena. Hang out and be social with other travelers in the comfy lobby or rest in the privacy of your room. Great...

We really enjoyed our stay in Pension. We stayed for 3 nights as part of a big trip & can say that the communal area & check in desk is one of my favourites from all my travels. They share the space with Taco Taco customers (would also highly recommend!) and have visits from the local cats and dogs :)...

Wow! I have been traveling for the last 7 months and have never experianced better hosts than these guys! So friendly and helpfull, they have all the information about the area, costa rica and even great tips for nicaragua! The Taco Taco Food next door is all home made and fantastic! Would come back any time!

We stayed for five nights and had a fantastic stay. The pension employees were incredibly helpful and friendly. The pension has a range of accommodations, and we stayed in a room with our own bathroom. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and we always had hot water in the shower. The included breakfast was tasty and there was...

It was a great hostel. The staff was great. I believe I spoke to Henri and he was so helpful and kind. I booked this last minute (it was a suggestion made by a travel agency who booked my shuttle to Monteverde/ Santa Elena. I wrote to them and I got a reply back very quickly and everything was so...

The hostel was nice. Staff were great, really helpful and organized various activities including complementary shuttles, which we were happy to use even having a car given the condition of the roads in the area. We stayed in a room without a bathroom. The room was fine, but you did have to go into another building, and there was one...

This is as good a hostel as you will ever find. I've travelled far more than my share and it's as good as I've seen. Comfortable rooms with options at several prices, good beds with warm clean bedding, hot showers after a long day on the trail, top class kitchen facilities, tasty and filling free breakfast, helpful and knowledgeable staff...

Dear Chris. First, let me say thank you for your very kind words. I have passed your comments on to the entire staff. They all work very hard to make everyone's stay in Monteverde a remarkable one. I also want to share your concerns about the high cost of Costa Rica for the adventure (any visitor really) traveler. It is...

After the poor value lodging in Montezuma this place was awesome! The rooms in the newest building are clean, have a nice bed, are spacious enough and have their own bathroom with nice shower with stone walls. Their is a garden were you can sit and plan out your day or the rest of your trip, as well as a...

Santa Elena was a great place to stay, it was a cute touristy spot but not over run with aggressive sales reps trying to get you buy tours. The hotel staff are above and beyond helpful and friendly. Diego was one of the funniest and down to earth characters that we met. He helped us make reservations for tours and...

We stayed for two nights in order to visit Monteverde cloud forest and stayed in a private room. The room was okay, however it got extremely cold at night. We slept with two blankets and all our clothes on and were still very cold. The included breakfast at taco taco was mediocre. One problem is that it opens at 7...
