This hostel is a gem. It is run by Jeremy and his mother, and feels like a real home from home. Fresh cooked breakfast every day (fruit and pancakes&syrup or eggs&toast) served with lovely coffee. A kitchen is available if you want to cook any meals. We planned on staying 4 nights and extended by another 5 as we loved it so much!
This is the second year we stayed with Rene - he is a very welcoming host. Very clean rooms, good view to the cloud forest from the top rooms. Very good breakfast, love the local fruit. Will return for sure on our next trip in Santa Elena.
We had a marvellous 4 nights in a very friendly spot, made all the better by the mighty Rene who became our friend during our stay. Accommodation was more than adequate for the very reasonable price, & breakfast great with endless coffee. Location perfect with a couple of excellent sodas nearby. Rene was so knowledgeable about the area & gave us excellent tips - thank you!
Really recommend this place if you're staying in Santa Elena. Rene was a fantastic host, always helpful and recommending less touristy places, supporting local businesses. The the facilities were well kept and clean, rooms were spacious and beds were comfy. Breakfast was delicious, local coffee and freshly cut local fruits, homemade jam.
Amazing small family-run bed and breakfast, we had a very enjoyable stay. The spacious room on the top floor was clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a good hot water shower. The large common terrace outside the room had an excellent view of the distant mountains and cloud forest. Well located on a quieter road but only a few minutes walk to the town center with a supermarket, cafes, bakeries and sodas/restaurants. The Swiss host Rene was welcoming and always available. He was helpful and would sit down with guests and map out and offer suggestions on the best walking and other sightseeing options. Fantastic breakfast with fruit, eggs, bread, homemade preserves and the best coffee. The fully equipped communal kitchen was available 24 hours for use by guests.
The owner was very helpful. Rene arranged all tours for us and provides us with everything we needed. The breakfasts were tasty with beautifully served fruit and delicious coffee. The cabinas were clean and the atmosphere was ver friendly.
We so enjoyed our three nights staying at Nuestra Kasa. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very good. But honestly, our biggest highlight was how friendly and helpful our host, Rene, was to us! Nuestra Kasa is not locates in the busy, crowded, touristy “triangle” of Santa Elena... it’s an easy 5 min walk up the other road leading into town. Also right nearby Kasa are three Sodas offering wonderful food. We tried a different each night. We like Cuchara and La Amistad
Fantastic experience! Delightful hosts, incredible breakfast with fresh bread, fruit and coffee. Rooms very clean and comfortable. We had our own bathroom and shower which ran hot perfectly well if you use it right. Great deck to enjoy morning coffee with a view. Hosts will book your tours for you and give you honest recommendations. I’ve stayed in two other hostels in Santa Elena and this was by far my favourite. Thanks so much, René. Hasta la proxima!!
Due to road constructions, we could not reach the accomodation by car. René was so kind to give us the option to cancel our booking and he personally called another b&b for us. If you are looking for a budget place to stay with personal attention, this is the place.
This is a small hostel type B&B. My room was a tiny double room but I swapped it for a room with a view. The shower was Luke warm. I missed breakfast as I was going on a tour but Rene kindly left me bread to make toast, prepared coffee for me the night before and also left me fruit and bananas so that I wouldn’t go hungry. He was very kind. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hostel was central but I didn’t like the walk to the town or back as there is little lighting and you are walking down a dusty road. It is a very steep hill. This place would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties unless they drove. However taxis are very cheap. Parking is roadside.Staff are very helpful.
