We really enjoyed our stay at Cabinas Eddy. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was yummy (fresh fruit, eggs or pancakes). They also have good value laundry service. The location is a little out of the centre of Santa Elena but only a 5 minute walk to lots of restaurants and shops. They helped organise transport to some of the rainforests nearby for us. Our son really loved the dog!

Really lovely family run B&B in an excellent location. Staff were all really friendly and Eddy helped book our tours and organise our transport. Room was basic but that was to be expected. Shared bathroom floor was constantly soaked/not well maintained. The walls are also very thin so a lot of noise from traffic and can hear other residents talking. Breakfast is included and the pancakes were in particular delicious. Family dog and cat were also very cute.

We stayed two nights at this small family owned hotel well visiting Monteverde. The family was very welcoming and informative and willing to help us with anything we needed. The hotel is very clean. Not a ton of amenities, but you don’t need them if you are out and about all day. We have room service every day. In a modest but good breakfast. One thing to note is that the hotel is on a trail level structure and parking is limited. you must go up some stairs to get to your room. So this would not be good for a handicap person. We also enjoyed the lovely animals to live in the hotel

Great location, 5 minutes from town center, excellent breakfast & cheerful service. Generous portions & just a few minutes walk to main area for hiking, zip lining etc. Easy Access to Monteverde Reserve.

Very nice owners, good wifi, cute common areas, and tidy room. You get what you pay for in terms of the room, but was totally fine for one night. Was worried with no AC but the room is mild since the temperature outside isn't high. However, no hot water in the showers so be prepared.

An excellent, comfortable and welcoming hotel. We stayed here three nights and found it very pleasant. Eddy was very helpful with all our requests and spoke good English. An excellent breakfast and hot drinks available all day. Centrally located close to the town.

We spent three nights here during our explorations of the Monteverde area and the location was perfect. The rooms are clean but not fancy, which suited us fine, and the breakfasts were wonderful. They also keep coffee and hot water (for tea) available 24/7. The best thing about the hotel is the staff who were always friendly and helpful-especially Freddy, the manager, who is fluent in English and Spanish. The Monteverde area is filled with ripoff tourist attractions and Freddy steered us in the direction of the best attractions with reasonable costs. He also helped us with our transportation needs. In fact, Freddy did everything for us. Overall, Cabinas Eddy far exceeded our expectations

Hands down one of the best B&Bs we stayed at in Costa Rica. It's located near the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve and many other activities. We highly recommend the night hike and zip lining that Freddy helped plan for us. Basically every activity contracts with a taxi or shuttle, so its easy to get around town, or even take the bus to the Cloud Forest for about a buck.
Freddy and his wife were very helpful and kind, even to the point of upgrading our room because we arrived early (we were just hoping to drop our bags off). Our breakfast was great, the room was clean and the water was hot. There was a hammock out on the porch that we enjoyed too. Basically, you can't go wrong here.

I spent 5 days in Cabinas Eddy in Feb 15, and found the place very convenient and pleasant. Freddy and team helped with reservations n recommendations. Clean place and simple. Good value. Nothing fancy, feels like staying with family. They prefer dollar cash payments, n will give you a small discount for that. Breakfast was timely and basic, but fit the bill.

Hi there! We were there a couple of weeks ago. We went by bus. But as I remember the road to Monteverde is a winding dirt road up the hills. But in good condition. So going there by a small car shouldn’t be a problem. Though going to some of the treck sites could but you seem to have solution for that. If you want more detailed info - try email or call Eddies. They speak good English.

Like everyone else said, the super market is close by and the town is safe. I'd recommend the restaurant up inside the tree (forget the name) or Mar y Tierra (if you want to treat yourself), both on the main drag. The bus station is a bit farther, about a 10-15 minute walk.
