The hostel was in a great location (Great restaurant and supermerkt 1 min walking). Very clean. The woman who runs the place was nice and helped us to book the Park and everything around. A very nice place.
I really loved staying at this hostel. It has a very chill and friendly vibe. The place is always clean and the staff is extraordinary. The free breakfast is a huge plus! I would highly recommend staying here while you're here.
If you are a solo traveler and want to meet people then don't even spend time considering it, just go here! I stayed here for three nights and each evening I met new amazing people. The place is tiny with only one big tavle which means that you all sit together every evening. It was three great nights with cooking together, card games, jenga and so on! Just go 😉
Alonso the owner (I think) is a legend and is always willing to help. Really chilled hostel with a make it your self breakfast. It has a great location and next to a very large supermarket that has everything
Little but clean, confortable and friendly hostel! Location is perfect, and staff is really nice and helpful with any activities. There is all facilities and breakfast included. Moreover if you travelling alone it's really easy To meet people as the hostel is really friendly and cosy. I recommend!
What makes Monteverde Backpackers awesome isn't just the amazing artwork inside the hostel, or the fact that there is free breakfast, or the clean and comfy mattresses, but what made the experience truly special for my friend and I was our new found friend Emel. Emel is one of the workers at the hostel and he was welcoming from the very beginning. He gave us the best recommendations from the very start. Thanks to him we got to see one of the coolest views from the top of a tree we got to climb inside of called the Ficus tree, went zip lining with an amazing group of people, and he even joined us for dinner at a super cool soda called Soda Bonanza. There we got to try a delicious chicken smothered with passionfruit sauce. Emel has the best energy and sense of humor which makes you want to be around him. He also has the best dance moves and is very helpful if you have any questions concerning the hostel or fun activities around the area. The day we got to the hostel my friend and I became friends with fellow travelers who were also staying there. By the end of the trip I felt like we had become a little family. I will never forget my experience here. Thanks Emel, and Monteverde Backpackers!…
This was a nice, small, family run hostel. Easy to book tours at the front desk and the management was quick and always available to answer questions. Location is conveniently located next to a supermarket and not too far from the central bus station by foot. I stayed in the 4 bedroom dorm and it was nice to have an ensuite bathroom. Overall, had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hostel to others.
I spent three nights here in October so I’m the off season hostel was super relaxing having only a few people in the entire hostel it was quiet. The staff are great here and help with getting activities and transportation. Free breakfast in the morning too. The beds are comfortable and the facilities clean. I will definitely stay here again on the future.
I came as a walk-in without reservation, asking if there's a dorm bed the answer was an immediate no. Ok, fine, so I turned around and left then suddenly he says let me check and there were 3 beds? Not sure why the answer was a no instead of let me check, in the first place. Showers are nice and hot and they provided towels - a considerate gesture knowing in that damp weather own own towels won't dry in a day. Beds were comfy. One thing I was a little uncomfortable about was that all guests were made to wear a wrist band. That is supposed to be for the night guard to know who to let in, which is supposedly nice being a security feature, but I am not sure it's a good idea we advertise to the whole town where we stay with that bright neon yellow band. In a way it's like the Jewish star branding us as cheap travellers who can only afford a hostel, on a more serious note, robbers/rapists/kidnappers could potentially ambush us knowing exactly where we will be heading after a night out. Security for the hostel, at the expense of security of the guests.…
Good hostel! The atmosphere is amazing; you will make friends in no time. Reception speaks good english and is happy to help you out with anything you might need. Common room is cozy and has lovely paintings. Room was basic but clean, kitchen was fully equipped; everything you might wish for as a backpacker!
