Positives - Facilities were very good - pools very relaxing and lots of sun chairs. Also a great location for the beach - easy to walk to all the delicious restaurants along Unawatuna beach.
Negatives - Staff were extremely unhelpful in organising anything other than...More
We were a group of 11 ladies who traveled to Sri Lanka for a fun-filled beach holiday and we can say that our expectations were indeed met.
Staff were all attentive and always on hand to assist us with our requests.

We stayed here for the last 2 nights of our Sri Lanka tour. It is located right on the beach. The rooms are fantastic. The restaurant is great. There are also many beach bars and restaurants close by. Would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is beautiful and offers great value for money but the breakfast they serve is pretty much the worst I have had ever. The room was nice, clean and spacious; we stayed in the sea view room on the top floor and loved it.
We stayed for two nights and had booked two rooms. The hotel is not very large and seem a bit old. It has a large restaurant and is right on the beach. The location makes up for many small shortcomings. Rooms are a bit tired...More

The snorkeling at Unawatuna is not horrible. At least not for this novice and his family. You can book a boat for about 40$ for three hours. This included equipment for 2 adults and 2 children. I think the going rate is 15$ per person. You can negotiate to bring you to Jungle beach, the ship wreck and the rocks.
The coral is non existent, but the rocks/reef has abundant fish. You can see a variety of fish, but of course the visibility all depends on the wind/current. I can't even start naming all the fish, because I don't know their names, but there are a variety and they are numerous. I would say that I say at least 20 different types of fish, and more than I can count in total.
