Pathik Motel is a strange place. Excellent exteriors, huge interiors, customized furniture but lacking in the most important front- maintenance. When we checked into the Double A/C room we were greeted by a heavenly sight but a foul smell which turned out to be an invisible dead rat. Fortunately we were shifted to another room of equal dimension and facilities, only this time around the taps wouldn't turn. We had to take our bath in another room provided by the helpful lady at the front desk. The broken buckets and mugs in the bathrooms too were nearing expiry. The bathroom was dirty from lack of use and had bugs crawling on the walls which got taken care of next morning at 9 when the usual cleaner come on his round.
If one goes by the size of the rooms, the furniture and fixtures, then there is no compare at the given price. Moreover it is very conveniently located bang on MG Road Crossing, beside Junction Mall and Dominos. What is lacking is service, the rooms are clean but smelly from disuse. During our 3 day stay in October we hardly saw any visitors. The Motel lacks any restaurant but since it is so close to Junction which has a fabulous Food Court, Subways & KFC, lunch & dinner is not an issue. What is of inconvenience is breakfast and tea.
Given the choice I would not be prefer Pathik Motel which is in sharp contrast to the WBTDC Lodge at neighboring Bishnupur.

I pay Rs.640/- for a single occupancy large aircon room inclusive of breakfast and have the luxury of staying in the City Centre area, what can be better. At this price its a steal..real steal but caveat..its poorly maintained. The nooks & corners of the rooms need through dusting so do the corridors. The hotel compund in over grown with wild grass & bushes, obviously snakes abound.Housekeeping is on the lower side, however, you are greeted with sparkling white bed sheets & towels..plesantly surprising. The restaurant & room service is operated by Utsav Restaurant and is on the pricier side.If you can walkdown next door to Junction Mall (Food court) or Citi Recidenci Hotel (Restaurant Theque) then expect to get value for money food & drinks.

I booked two Nos.A.C.Standard Room for one day, Location of this Hotel is excellent, as it is a Government Property and run by them only Service Quality is not up to, the mark, though Check In Time is 12.00 noon we waited up to 2.00 P.M. to get one Room, as it was under cleaning process. Restaurant is good and service is quick, the same is outsourced to private party. Complementary Breakfast is with limited option but that is also good. Staffs are also Helpful and polite. Mainly an executive who was managing the reception during our stay was very much helpful to us. If management makes some minor renovation and services are improved it will become one of the best hotel of Durgapur.

I took an AC Super deluxe room for my family the tariff is taken 3526 including tax.I also took a dormitory bed for my chauffeur which cost me around 600 INR .I booked the property on spot booking but surprisingly no receipts have been given to me throughout my stay.Even I had a bill of around INR 1200 for our food which also I paid in cash but without receipts.I still dont know wheather a complimentary breakfast was included in my room tariff or not.
The WBTDC has spent a lot for the amenities ,interior etc and it is really good but not maintained properly. The guest house was having many unoccupied room .Later I understood it is because of the very poor management and behaviour of the management level people over there. The room boys are very helpfull but the receiption and manager level is terrible.
I will not prefer to stay there any more ,as I am a frequent visitor of Durgapur. The private hotels are very guest friendly /transparent and tariff also less then this Govt Property.

This is a small hotel. Do not go with high expectations and you will be okay. Rooms were clean but quite small for the price. Staff were so-so. Service was below average. We asked for towels and they kept us waiting till almost midnight for them.

A budget accommodation in Durgapur, at the heart of the city. Rooms, services and ambiance - all fall under the 'average' category. Still, it's value for money. Food is good and so is the courtesy of the staff. House keeping needs to be beefed up. Uncovered parking lot is a matter of concern.

Overall positive experience. Would recommend to others for visiting this hotel.
A. PROS:
1. Good price for rooms
2. Very good behaviour of the staffs
3. Very good ambience
4. Very good location - about 3-5 min walk from the city centre
5. Fairly clean rooms and toilets
6. Very good Chinese food
B. CONS
1. Takes very long time to give the food unless you had ordered at least about 45-60 mins before
2. Black Tea/Raw tea: pathetic. They donot by default give sugar separately and give huge quantity of sugar
3. Food pricing is definitely on the higher side as compared to "Pather Pachali" restaurant in Citi Residency hotel
4. By default they provide single towel for double bedded, double occupancy rooms unless you as for it
5. No free tea bags/coffee pouches in room. Even no electric kettle in rooms

Restaurant is quite family oriented. They serve alcohol too in the same area and there is a small-sized bar that's separate from the restaurant. One thing i didn't like about the bar was that they don't allow girls there. So you have to be in the restaurant section to get alcohol if you are with girls. There is one exclusive area that one can book and have party privately.
Overall the food quality and the cost is worth your money.
If you're looking for quite ambience then your search ends here.

Very close to the city centre, yet removed from the din and pollution, the hotel offers a comfortable stay to travellers looking at value for money. Quality of food is good. Behaviour of staff is helpful. Tipping works for the housekeeping staff who can go the extra mile to make the room more liveable.
