I honestly have no idea where to start… what an amazing well needed holiday!

I knew this trip would be magnificent but it exceeded my expectations in every single way.

After a long journey, we were very tired and delirious to say the least. We were instantly greeted with a refreshing drink and checked in straight away, to an amazing, clean and well decorated room with a postcard picture view! A much needed nap was taken and this is where everyone and everything blew us away.

There isn’t a bad word to say about the staff or the hotel. We were very lucky to stay at Cannonier but also visit Mauricia, Victoria and Trou Aux Biches and everytime we returned, we were glad we picked this hotel. It was so relaxing and peaceful but had enough going on to keep you entertained if that’s what you like, with the like of a glass bottom boat, pedalos, paddle boards, kayaks and much more.

Frangipanier… what an incredible buffet restaurant! From breakfast, lunch and evening meal, every single item is fresh, tasty and beats any other buffet restaurant at other hotels. There themed evening nights are also outstanding, especially Indian and Asian night. We actually cancelled 2 nights at the Al la Carte restaurants because we didn’t want to miss out on these nights.

The Navigator is exceptional in every way! The views, the lunch (to die for), the evening dinner service and even the dance floor it turns into on a Friday and Saturday evening. It really is the cream of the crop. A lot of amazing food will be consumed here and if you really want to treat yourself, get the lobster, you will not be disappointed.

Serenata is just you expect from an Italian… warm and hearty. The prawn risotto was a favourite here!

The live music of an evening at the Planteur bar was perfect, not too much but just enough.

The Spa… WOW. Set amongst a Banyan Tree, there is really nothing else quite like it! The perfect place to sit back, relax and unwind.

I could really go on but I guaranteed you will not be disappointed with a stay a Beachcomber Cannonier.

Finally, the biggest shout out to the staff! We felt like a celebrity from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and we were certainly emotional about leaving this amazing place. Every member of staff will go above and beyond but I just want to say a massive thank you Roshan, Muliah and Amirita because you made us never want to leave!

Top Tips:
Book your Al La Carte Restaurants in advance.

Make sure you pack or buy some sea shoes from the shop on site at the hotel.

Plan any excursions you may want to do, they get booked up! Especially the boat trips.

Have the best time ever!

P.s. Keep an eye out for the resident cats Kevin and Simone!

We stayed in March 2024. We really liked the resort: the right size, classy with lots of space and exceptional vegetation with attention to the smallest details (the lawn looks like a carpet) and non-crowded common areas.
The structure has three restaurants, two of which are à la carte, all very beautiful, "outdoors" without air conditioning but protected from possible rain.
Resort equipped with many activities including: water skiing, boat trip with transparent seabed, snorkeling, archery, bowling green...
Two boutiques with useful and also very nice items for souvenirs. Prices not excessive given the quality and offer.
The staff is present throughout the structure to take care of every corner and pay attention to the guest. Excellent cleaning.
Fairly spacious rooms, we had a view towards the garden.
The only critical issue for rooms without a balcony is that they have no place to hang out even just two costumes, something should be provided at least on request.
Good quality food and the all-inclusive formula is highly recommended. In addition to the buffet restaurant, the Navigator Top restaurant with sea view. Both lunch and dinner (this with reservation) always served.
Another a la carte restaurant open in the evening is Serenata, with Italian specialties but very pleasantly styled and therefore enjoyable and romantic.
Very well-kept beaches, not crowded. Recommended access with shoes given the presence of shallow seabed with corals or tufts of vegetation. The water in this part of the beach is not high and you have to go very far to have a good swim, however it also depends on the tide. But unquestionably beautiful water!
The proximity to Grand Baie is excellent (two km, very convenient taxi with fare suggested by the hotel or local bus).
I also recommend a trip and a swim to Peyrebeire beach (3 km from the village). Be careful to agree the price with the taxi driver.

Francorosso excellent organization, present contact animation, always kind, very refined but friendly and always attentive and active for any need or to do the many planned activities together.
The aperitif organized on the terrace on the last evening was very fun, elegant and very welcome.
Proposal for good and well-organised trips. Among these, both from personal experience and from friends' stories, I recommend:
Half day with a visit to the botanical garden and a few hours of shopping in the capital
Catamaran trip
All day trip to the southern part of the island

The Canonnier Beachcomber is a beautiful resort located in the north of the island of Mauritius. It is about an hour and a half from the airport. The structure is very large and surrounded by lush greenery and offers two large swimming pools and three different beaches, with clear, clean water. There is also a Diving Center which offers numerous services, including SUP, canoes and the possibility of water skiing. All three beaches are very sheltered thanks to the presence of the reef that surrounds almost the entire island and allows you to go to the sea even on the windiest days. The resort has three restaurants, one of which is a buffet, very rich and different every day, and two à la carte restaurants, the Serenata with Italian cuisine and the Navigator with local cuisine and also the most beautiful for its sea view. The room was very spacious, with a simple and well-kept style. We had chosen the garden view, but luckily we could also see the sea! The all-inclusive formula allowed us to eat and drink in all places and at all hours of the day. For check-out the rooms must be vacated by 12, but this should not be a cause for concern because the structure has courtesy bathrooms with showers and hairdryers which allow you to stay at the seaside even for those who have a return flight in the evening, such as I our case. Special thanks must be given to the Francorosso team and in particular to Alessandro, Chiara and Sonia who welcomed us and kept us company during the week. They organized a beautiful aperitif in Rosso at sunset making our departure less sad. They are special guys who know how to involve people thanks to their cheerfulness! It is the first time we have relied on Francorosso and we had such a good time that we will consider it for future trips. As for the weather, don't rely on it too much. A week before leaving, rain was forecast every day, but it never rained during the week and we found 30 degrees and very hot water. Regarding excursions, organize only through the resort or by looking for some Instagram pages. The cost will be slightly higher than those organized by locals, but you will see less crowded places and the organization will be better. Don't rely on Paradiso, which took us to the most touristy places, without the possibility of being able to swim in the most beautiful points of the island. I recommend visiting the northern islands and those in the south-east such as Deer Island and the lighthouse island. The water you will find there is crystal clear, of a crazy color.
Mauritius is an incredible island full of vegetation, with white beaches full of coral. You may suddenly see turtles and dolphins and in some areas even monkeys.
I left a piece of my heart on this island and it will always remain a beautiful memory.

Positive sides:
Very nice resort, well structured, of the right size. Excellent location and beaches, which although they are not of fine sand and are small, give the possibility to choose between a more sheltered or windier position.
Very friendly reception staff.
Downsides:
Restaurant staff who lack the basics (every day I had to ask the waiters to remove the plates because I couldn't even get the next dishes in since it was a buffet)
All inclusive all day... let's talk about it... outside of restaurant hours, apart from the choice between a chicken or fish sandwich which is as long as a forearm and crepes only at 4pm, there is no way to have a snack.
Drinking to your heart's content, but I drank the saddest cocktails I've ever seen.
Plus you tell him no ice and 2 out of 4 drinks had it.
I explicitly requested fruit for decoration, the result was unseemly: a wooden spoon and a slice of pineapple were added which was sadder than me to see.
Obviously no peanuts or chips to accompany.
Cleanliness in the room: more could be done... ants in the room everywhere and killed with spray provided to me by them who remained to keep me company throughout the holiday.
Extremely thin 2-ply toilet paper that looked like tissue paper.
Poor quality room body products.
No pad of paper and pen to write on.
Obviously it is a personal vision and these are not important shortcomings for goodness sake, but only details that a 4 star resort must take care of.

We arrived and our cases were dealt with, we were sat down and given cold towels and a welcome drink, we were given our wristbands and was able to have lunch before our room was ready, we asked for a room with a sunset view and wow we got it. The food at the buffet was stunning, I’m not a fan of buffets and prefer al a carte which we had one night on my birthday, I was very impressed with the birthday cake, the food was delicious but the steak a little chewy. We had planned to go to the Victoria hotel but we loved the buffet that much we didn’t go, we even cancelled the other nights for the al a carte and ate at the buffet with a different theme each night. The staff were lovely and so many of them too, they really work so hard so a smile and a thank you goes a long way. The room was very good, we brought an extension lead for extra plugs which was needed the 2 pins plug adapter wouldn’t fit in. The room was number 550 and I have posted pictures to show. No draws, just a wardrobe and shelves but we managed, take extra hangers, no bedside draws just 2 ceramic square boxes, housekeeping was the same person unless he has a day off which he left a note to let us know, he was lovely and left some surprises in our room which was such a great touch but I’m keeping hush hush, the pools were lovely with loads of bed even if we came down late or afternoon, we took advantage of the glass bottom boat and the peddle boats which are in with the all inclusive. We booked a trip with the rep which wasn’t cheap, it was the Wild South Tour which included a meal with stunning views but the food wasn’t great, no menu, set meal which was cold and only one soup between two but please note this isn’t a part of the hotel but it’s worth knowing, I’d still go but don’t expect it to be the highlight of the day. The hotel will make you up a pack lunch on request and it’s big too. Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel, thank you for making this such a special holiday especially Mulliah.

This is my second beachcomber hotel stay after having previously been to Mauricia and was expecting something different but unfortunately i couldn't find much differences between the two.
From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth. The staff were always so attentive to details and always ready to assist.
I would like to extend my heartiest thanks to Lina, our room lady for rooms 209 and 211 respectively. I have been to several hotels before but never seen such a honest person. We had bags with all out stuff lying around. She specially requested that someone stays behind while she is cleaning the room even though we didn't have much items of value with us. We were with an infant who made such a mess in the shower/Room, but she cleaned it with always a smile on her face. Thank you beachcomber for having people like her around, she makes the stay even more pleasant.
I would also like to thanks everyone at the buffet restaurant for taking care of us and specially to the chef who made smthing for me during lunch on Saturday. Also downside was the grilled fish which was constantly on the menu. Friday night seafood night, sat lunch seafood again, sat night and sun lunch more grilled fish. The bbq chicken was a bit lacking in taste built the meefoon was simply yummy!!!!
Lastly many thanks to Reena at reception for all the help she provided.
Overall thank you to each and everyone who made our stay pleasant.

Unforgettable holidays. Special thanks to Lisette, Danie, Hydrangea and the gentleman who took care of our room 422 throughout our stay. We were in all included with superior sea view room and everything was perfect. Arrived at 11am and were supposed to pick up our room at 2pm. No worries, there is a dedicated space with showers that allows you to change: very appreciable after 12 hours of flight... then second good surprise, the All inclusives starts as soon as you arrive 🙂 so we were able to have lunch and drink quietly without extra while waiting 2pm. The rest of the stay was just a succession of very good times. There are 3 restaurants: one in buffet format very varied, very good, constantly replenished, in short very well. The other two are à la carte with the obligation to wear trousers in the evening for men. Don't try Bermuda...some of them had to go and change and I find that very good.
Both are excellent but we had a preference for navigator worthy of a very good French restaurant. The staff is very nice, smiling, available and very kind. Everyone speaks French 🙂
there are plenty of free water activities. There are dedicated taxis to the hotel with very reasonable prices displayed at the entrance. It takes 5000 rs a day to go south. The hotel is constantly monitored by agents and all accesses are controlled and closed. We feel safe!
The sunbathing war did not happen because people are civilized and there is enough for everyone.
I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return.

Because of our 25th wedding anniversary, we went here for 9 days to relax after our Safari trip in South Africa.
What a fantastic hotel. It started at check-in. You really are treated like stars. After an explanation of everything there is to do, we were taken to our rooms. We had 2 rooms with a sea view. They were very nice rooms and we were really close to the sea with a view of the sunset every day. Wonderful beds and a wonderful rain shower in the bathroom with all other amenities. We had booked all-in, so our minibar was maintained every day. The cleaning of the room was also done perfectly by Riaad with the occasional animal made from towels on your bed with a personal message. All the restaurants we ate at, the buffet restaurant and the 2 a la carte restaurants, were excellent. The buffet restaurant has a lot of choice and is of very good quality for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner was with a different theme every night. The staff is also extremely friendly and will do everything they can to make you happy. My wife has an allergy and food was prepared separately for her every day if necessary, really great. The first evening we even got a chocolate cake with candles for dessert because of our anniversary. Really very thoughtful. Because of our anniversary we were also allowed to choose from different activities. We opted for the 4 star massage in the Spa. The Spa looks beautiful and we had a wonderful massage. Sat at the large bar every evening where daily entertainment was held with both bands and their own dance group. Great entertainment every evening. The beach and sea are fine. At the boathouse you can make arrangements for water activities, including kayaking, pedal boats, diving and snorkeling. We snorkeled several times. You will be taken by boat to a small island where you can snorkel and see various tropical fish and coral. The only improvement could be the beach beds. They were just a bit too short and too hard. For the rest, a big compliment to this hotel and all the facilities and staff who do everything they can to give you an unforgettable stay and they certainly did that. I recommend anyone who wants to go to Mauritius to spend the night here.

We spent 17 unforgettable days at Cannonier Beachcomber in July as a family of four, and it was incredible from start to finish. The resort’s stunning location on a peninsula with lush gardens and breathtaking ocean views made every moment feel magical.
This was not our first visit to Mauritius, but our first visit to the north of the island but definitely not our last at this beautiful and awesome hotel.

Our family duplex room was ideal, offering space for the kids upstairs and comfort for us downstairs. The housekeeping was impeccable, and the thoughtful touches like nightly turndown service made us feel special.

The food was outstanding, with a variety of options at the buffet and à la carte restaurants. Thank you very much to Henry who was very attentive and always kept my glass full. And I really enjoyed the „French lessons“ he tried to teach me and my family every night. Also to Suraj . Both of these wonderful people made our vacation special. kids loved the interactive cooking stations, while we enjoyed romantic dinners at the Navigator with its panoramic sea views.

The spa under the banyan trees was a serene retreat, and the staff’s friendliness and attention to detail made our stay exceptional.

Kind Regards,
The Lindlau Family

Best Holiday. From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Kim and Reena, who's professional attitude along with the check in team, made the 12 hour flight fade away. The hotel is in a perfect position to take advantage of the best beaches and access around the island. Its ideal for couples and families. It has x2 pools and a secluded beach that wraps around the hotel offering beautiful but peaceful sunbathing with rocky areas ideal for snorkelling.

The hotel's general manager Lothar really leads by example with his work ethics and commitment to customer service. The hotel is very clean throughout, and the gardens pool and beaches are very well maintained. The Boat house team made the use of the excellent water sports easy to access. Ali the Sports Manager was exceptional, and really went the extra mile, when I really needed help to retrieve a potential lost phone. Plus, thank you to Chintoo for making my golf day happen at La Pradis and the rest of the team. The golf options here are excellent and from my experience it is well worth playing some top challenging courses that the island has to offer (a certain ability would be required to enjoy the courses).

The restaurants are very well run and even with the busy Christmas time, were clean and constantly able to offer a high standard of meals. Thank you for making our stay and experience so good and I need to thank Amrika, Collen, Meetum, Adil, Angela, Elody, Dannie and the Chef Kawal (who made a special effort helping my wife avoid her fish allergies).

The sea facing room we had, was always cleaned to a high standard and Avishek from housekeeping was always helpful and professional. The towel guys need a mention as whilst it is a tough job to manage, were always polite, friendly and professional.

The live music and entertainment every evening is outstanding, and the Mauritian night was one of the highlights for me. Thank you to all.

To summarise its a hotel that is big enough to offer all the facilities but small enough to care and offer outstanding customer service. We would definitely recommend and revisit
