The Bridge Hotel & Spa garners appreciation for its prime location in England and its welcoming atmosphere. Cleanliness is a standout feature, with numerous guests commending the spotless rooms and tidy facilities. While the service receives accolades for the staff's friendliness, there are occasional mentions of sluggish service and spa management concerns.
Room experiences vary, with comfort and cleanliness being praised, yet some guests find issues with maintenance. The amenities, including the spa, satisfy many, though some feel updates are necessary. Opinions on value are split, with some guests celebrating the affordability and others questioning the pricing.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel is quite local to us and has great facilities including a spa (which we didn’t use) the rooms comfortable and clean ours had huge windows with garden view on ground floor with double and single bed. We booked “lazy Sunday “ deal on their website which included 2 course carvery lunch or dinner bed and breakfast all very nice and worth the discounted rate we paid for Sunday stay.
On the “what could be better “ the receptionist was most unwelcoming the lunch booking where we were interrogated “had we booked? Did you book through travel zoo are you residents “ we were told to sit in bar until table ready.. no one staffing the bar after ringing the bell and waiting for 10 minutes the member of staff arrived made some drinks and took off to deliver her table order.. by this time member of restaurant staff came to advise table ready and was extremely apologetic totally redeeming herself. The bath plug was stuck in the plug hole and after having a shower was full of water a member of staff arrived promptly with a hammer to release it! We found some “lost property “ tucked in one of beds and finally on check out the receptionist was as rude as ever and did not even say goodbye.
This hotel caters for weddings and events so used to having large parties to cater for and maybe lacks a personal touch for those not in this category.
Weighing up the good points and our experience I would stay again.

I’m getting married here next June, so thought it would be nice to stay here for a Birthday treat. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a club room and staff had kindly left me a Birthday cookie and a card in our room. The Travelzoo voucher included 2 nights b&b, 5 course meal for 2 on the first night and afternoon tea for under £200. Great value! The staff here are superb and work tirelessly to ensure the hotel remains Covid secure. They were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. Hand gel was available and staff all wore masks. The staff are a real credit to the hotel!
The afternoon tea was gorgeous. One of the nicest I’ve ever had. The burger meal we ate in the bar was lovely too and so was the breakfast. The Chef plated the cooked breakfast as you told him what you wanted and carried it back to the table. Re the 4 course meal, the carvery and the soup course could definitely have been warmer but overall the food that we ate over the weekend was good. The Bryon bar is a lovely cosy place for a few drinks. Unfortunately they ran out of a few of their gins and Prosecco on the Friday night, but I understand that they are having problems with their supplier.
We used the spa, which was pleasant and again felt very safe. The outdoor hot tub was lovely and relaxing. Overall, a great relaxing weekend in a very attractive hotel and I can’t wait to get married here. Thank you very much!

My wife and I just spent 3 nights at the Bridge Hotel and Spa.
Upon arrival and from online pictures the hotel looked pretty decent. Unfortunately the building really does require a vast amount of investment to bring it up to standard. My own opinion would be no more than three stars. Exterior looks welcoming but the public areas and rooms felt very tired. Good location for exploring a beautiful area of Britain. We chose to stay here as it was a Spa hotel, this being the case we wrongly assumed residents at the hotel would be given automatic entry to the Spa, not the case, a very greedy additional £15 per person per 3 hours, never experienced anything like this before. I am happy to pay extra for spa treatments but not for entry into a hot tub without a pool.
Bedroom was clean, comfortable and functional. Furniture again, was dated. Lack of fridge and most of the TV channels didn't work. We did ask for this to be sorted and we received some help from Alice, she came along and was very helpful, on investigating she found this issue was through the hotel. Hot water pressure was very low particularly at peak times.
Staff... Every member of staff we had contact with were first class and a real credit to the hotel and themselves. Nothing was too much effort and their attention to social distancing was evident.
Overall we had a great weekend and we thank all the staff for their efforts.
Would I revisit this hotel. No.
Certainly not until it has a vast financial injection. This can't be blamed on the current virus as I recon the hotel has needed a big refit for at least ten years.

We are extremely glad our Team Members made your stay enjoyable and we take all constructive criticism seriously. Unfortunately due to government guidelines we are unable to open any steam rooms and saunas which unfortunately limits experience in the spa. All issues will be dealt with accordingly. We hope you will return for another stay in the future. Kind Regards Management Team

We booked a relaxing night away including the 3 hour usage of the spa, I’ll break the review down into 3 sections.
Room: Room is a nice size, bed is comfortable, water pressure and heat is spot on, however the only downfalls to the room were how dusty it was, along with the disgusting state of the drawers and the old pizza crust we found down the back of the armchair (ref to images) I’d be having some serious words with the housekeeping staff 😂. No hand sanitiser or even anti-bacterial hand wash is provided in the rooms which is odd, especially due to the current situation, all you get is a tiny bar of soap, that’s it. View from our room was lovely, very nice to wake up to in the morning.
Spa: Was absolutely packed full of people, thought there would be at least a slight limit on people entering the spa but apparently not 😂, went to reception to check in to the spa and waited for 10 mins as no staff were to be seen, had the same issue when checking out so we just put the robe and towel in the laundry bin as instructed and left the flip flops near reception. Nobody seems to a have the faintest clue about turn taking as the same group of women sat in the hot tub for well over an hour, meaning nobody else could get in. However the saunas and steam room were lovely. The ‘foot spas’ were poor and were more like dipping your feet into a lukewarm bath and the ice fountain wasn’t even working. The outdoor seating area is very pleasant.
Food: We had the Vegetable Soup, the Carvery and the Sticky Toffee Pudding, think it’s safe to say that the food definitely saved this trip from being a one star review, it was absolutely lovely, the chef was very pleasant, along with the other staff members, atmosphere is very nice as well as the restaurant itself.
It was overall a lovely stay, but the spa was the biggest let down for both of us, £28 per person definitely isn’t worth it when you don’t get chance to use half of the facilities

Good Morning, Thank you for your feedback, I would like to apologies the cleanliness of the room there is no excuse in these times for sub standard cleaning standards, I will be passing on your feedback to the housekeeping staff. As for the spa we are one week in and the demand has been fantastic I will be passing on the feedback and telling the spa staff to monitor the usage of the shared facilities as it is not fair for one party to have extended use of the facilities. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your time in the restaurant. I would like to ensure you that we will improve and hope that you will give us another opportunity to show you the high standards we are known for.

Advice to anyone contemplating using the Spa at the Bridge Inn, Wetherby.
Changing Rooms
Take your own bath robe – they were awaiting delivery of theirs and I had to use two towels to wrap around me in order to get from the changing room to the treatment rooms.
Take your own footwear – the hard plastic flip flops that were provided were absolutely lethal on the wet tiled floor.
Take a one pound coin for the lockers – I didn’t take any small change with me and had to leave all my clothes in an unsecured locker.
Try and use a cubicle that hasn’t got any sanitary towel stickers on the divider, and also has not got any paper towels stuffed behind the stool, nor has got any wet towels strewn around the cubicle, and
avoid bathing costumes that may be on the towel rail to dry.
Waiting for the therapist
Make sure that there are questionnaires available for completion. There were none in the area and I had to wait until the therapist got some blank ones and then wait until she returned to collect the
very short completed form. This will ensure that you don’t have five minutes shaved off your treatment time.
In the therapy room
Request that the massage bed is lowered both before and after your massage, it makes getting on and off the high bed so much easier.
Make it very clear what is expected for your full body massage, my therapist did not massage my lower back, any part of my legs above the knee, any part of my arms above the elbow, and no upper
chest. In essence, “full body” was taken as being “furthest portions of extremities (barring feet) and mid-back only”. When I questioned why other areas were not covered I was advised that was how she had been trained. I know that feet can be either included or excluded from a full body massage but it would have been nice to have been asked.
Tell the therapist if the pressure is too soft or too hard, she will not ask you to confirm the pressure.
Ask for a small glass of water after your massage, it is important to be hydrated after a massage and no offer was made.
Only offer a gratuity if you feel the massage was worthwhile!
Returning to the changing rooms
Take care on the very steep steps leading from the therapy room to the changing rooms, please note that anyone with any mobility issues will find the access to and from the therapy rooms quite a
challenge.
To summarise. Based on my experiences, I would suggest that you should investigate alternatives before booking a massage at the Bridge Spa.

My wife and I stayed at The Bridge hotel overnight on Sunday 20/09/20 as part of a Travelzoo deal which included B&B and a 5 course meal. We did upgrade to a 'club' room for an extra £15 which provided a little extra space, a decanter of port and some chocolates. This room was very pleasant and accomodating. The restaurant was very comfortable and tastfully decorated. The service from the staff was excellent and fully Covid compliant. The 5 course meal (the main course served from a carvery) was ok but we did not feel that it would have been worth an additional £29.50 per person had it not been included in our deal package. Breakfast was served in the same restaurant with a cooked breakfast provided from the carvery. Both cereal and fruit juice were also provided as was tea/coffee. Breakfast was in fact very nice. Previous reviews have stated that the hotel is 'tired', but I must disagree. It is not a 'grand' hotel but is is not pretending to be. To be honest we found it very nice and value for money. It is clean, pleasant and set in a very nice and convenient location. We did not use any of the spa area so we cannot make any further comment. Where this hotel really excells is down to the extremely helpful and pleasant manner of each member of staff with whom we had contact. Very well done by all!. We must make a special comment about the receptionist Sarah who was very helpful with an enquiry we had. Overall, a very pleasant stay.!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady, very helpful and showed us around.
Hot tub outside - 3 jets working and the thing was filthy
Upstairs area - couldn’t relax as the fan for the shower was that loud, no ice experience working
The other area the relaxation room. I dare not even lay on the beds, the throws were full of dust and hairs... horrid.
Everywhere is mucky and un kept.
Then onto the meal, no service what so ever no mention of a carvery being the option on the spa package, cold fish cake with bones in!!! No apologies or replacements, cold carvery which you have to stand and wait until someone comes out to serve you, two minutes doesn’t seem like a lot but when your stood waiting it feels a lot longer.
Overall experience 2/10 - points are purely for the staff in the spa.
Would never ever return. It was supposed to be a lovely treat for my sister and it was a day ruined and money wasted.

I booked a spa day for my friends birthday. The Autumn Aroma offer included a 40 minute candle wax back, neck and shoulder massage, 3 hours use of the facilities and a glass of bubbles. The treatment was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed it and the girls who did it were lovely! However the girls on the reception of the spa weren't very welcoming or very well presented. They didn't give you the introduction you would expect at a spa it was very sluggish, can't be bothered sort of welcome. We also expected to be given a nice glass of prosecco, however we're given a pre poured from the fridge plastic cup of Fizzy Pear wine (low alcohol cheap fizz).
The hot tub was unusable as it wasn't a hot tub but more a cold tub! This was the one part of the facilities we were most looking forward to using.
The ice experience near the foot spas weren't in use and said you had to go ask for ice from the reception! Surely it should be there ready to use.
The indoor sauna was covered in cobwebs inside and didn't have any water in for the coals.
Also when we handed our flip flops back at the end of our time at the spa, we witnessed the staff put the flip flops back on the shelf ready for others to use without cleaning or sanitising them. At this time during Covid especially you would expect extra sanitisation and cleaning within the spa.
Also the snooze room wasn't cleaned the hole time we were there and was messy and unwelcoming.
Overall I would recommend a treatment, however would not bother with using the facilities in future and will not be booking to return anytime soon.

We came on a Groupon voucher which I'm aware doesn't mean we should expect 5 star.
I would still hope for a decent overall experience. After calling the hotel around 10 times to reserve and each time no response, I managed to get through. The welcome from the girls in the spa was excellent, they were very friendly and explained everything. The spa itself was fairly decent, albeit a little dirty. Pump not working on hot tub so a little grim to see dead skin floating around. The snooze room didn't seem to offer any clean blankets so we just lay on the beds in our robes.
Then onto lunch (2 courses)
Upon arrival the lady who I imagine was the restaurant manager abruptly told us that our table wasn't ready and to go to the bar for a drink which we did, however, 5 minutes later there was still nobody serving at the bar (2 couples waiting to be served before us) By this time no drink later our table was ready.
The main course was a choice of congealed vegetable risotto or seafood stroganoff (buffet) or what I can only describe as the worst carvery I've ever eaten. I dont often write reviews but I felt the need for this one.
Service wasn't great, not once were we asked if the food was ok, not once did we see a smile and at the end when had to almost beg to pay for our drinks, the server had no idea what he was doing.
Overall the spa experience which we did enjoy was greatly dampened by such an appaling dining experience. Such a shame for a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Some quality food such as simple sandwiches tea and cakes would have been so much better (and clean walls in the restaurant!) Friendlier staff would help too.
Sadly will not be recommending to anyone all because of the restaurant.

I purchased a voucher deal for the 3 hour spa experience with a glass of bubbly & 2 course meal from the carving table. I honestly didn’t expect too much as per the reviews in February & just thought it’ll be a nice experience, a little midweek treat for myself & my husband. In all honestly I came away thinking we should of spent our money elsewhere.
I’m sure back in the day it would of been a glorious hotel without a doubt. Lovely location & a perfect wedding venue but now it’s just a mid-range budget style hotel.
On arrival at the spa we were given a little tour & made aware we could request our fizz at any time which was a great start. Unfortunately though in the ladies changing room the door was wedged open & the pole for the curtain for the two cubicles was on the floor. Prior warning would of been nice as it left me with no-where to privately change! I assume the door wedged open was for the maintenance man. The steam room & sauna upstairs was fine, also the foot spa’s pleasant. Outside sauna nice but hot tub a let down. I previously e-mailed checking it was up & running & my reply was that it had been fixed. This clearly wasn’t the case. We made the best of it as if you dwelt on it too much you were basically sitting in warm dirty water that was hardly invigorating. We had our glass of fizz & a 10 min relax in the room upstairs & called it a day. The ladies changing room situation was even worse then, I thought I’d timed it right but it was full when I got in so with the cubicles still out of order it was an up close & personal situation to say the least...... My husbands experience wasn’t much better with his shower being cold.
We then went to dinner & I must say I couldn’t fault the staff, they were kind, courteous & very professional. The starters were fine & the meat on the carving table as I would expect but the vegetables not fresh tasting at all. I’m not a fan of a carvery so this is purely my personal opinion. I was quite surprised by the price of the drinks too, my husband had a pint of soda which was over £3......
I seriously didn’t expect a luxury spa & I think the faulty hot tub didn’t help but I thought the food would of balanced it out & for us it didn’t.
Not somewhere I’d go back or recommend.
