Arrived after a long day of travel along the most amazing coastal highways I've traveled to The All Nations Hotel in Barrytown tidy accommodation and at a reasonable rate, good shower & kitchen facilities I hope the old pub reopens again soon as the only thing missing was food and a drink ,hopefully be back again soon ..

We are walking the length of new Zealand on the te araroa trail. Due to walking it in winter we had do a alternative route part on the west coast. Weather being very windy and wet now. We saw the hostel and asked about the price for camping here. Told the guy what we are doing. Guess what he said...

This little town in the middle of nowhere... fact...but is an amazing place for 1 reason... All Nations Bar. We stayed here on a Stray bus, stopping off on the way down to Fox Glacier and had the most amazing night ever (i dont thing other coach tours stop here). I dont remember much about the night but the photos...

This was a required stop with Stray bus tours, and if I had my way, I would never stay here. There is absolutely nothing to do. If you are stranded in Barrytown for some reason, All Nations is your only option. The showers are in small tin cans and quite temperamental as they would turn completely cold at the oddest...
