We stayed at this hotel after coming down the mountain late at night. We could tell there would be an amazing view by looking out the windows that night. We were not disappointed. It was chilly so we took a blanket and just sat on the balcony taking in the lake and surrounding forest. All rooms have a balcony but one side gets the lake and the other the sunrise and mountains. The place was built in 1928 so the hard wood floors creek when you walk around. Aside from that it still had an air of elegance. The lounge rooms were comfortable and the bartender served a strong pour. It was a perfect stay before we headed back south to Malaga. The breakfast spread was fresh and plentiful. All the cold dishes were served buffet style and the hot plate were made to order.

Sleeping has been impossible, especially the last two days of our stay. The room was a sauna. When we arrived in the afternoon, after a day of exploring the area, entering there was like entering hell. This is a modern parador overlooking a mountain range with an ornamental lake in the foreground, facing west so gets brilliant sunset views. It is really great value for money at 85 euros per night with a large car park. The restaurant had a great selection of meals and wine available - all of which are reasonably priced and substantial.

We have been to many Paradores, but this has been the worst. We went with our dog because they say the hotel is 'pet friendly'. However, despite paying a supplement of €20 per day, we have not been able to enjoy any space except the room - dogs are not even allowed on the terrace. The room was very old and the bathroom was disgusting (see photos). After complaining about the dog policy, I was told that 'pets may be subject to a certain room category' - so I imagine our room was one of the bad ones. It doesn't seem fair to pay more for less. There was a wedding on the second night of our stay and our room was right above the party, with music so loud that all the furniture vibrated and we could barely hear the TV. Finally, the breakfast, which is usually very good (and costs about 20). € per person) the things that we have always found in other Paradores were missing (more than one type of juice, bread rolls...) and some mornings the quality of the fruit was poor. In short, not highly recommended.

Terrible reception service. Low quality rooms without minimum services for a 4-star parador. We paid with a prepaid rate and after paying they send you an email where only then do they tell you the characteristics of the room (no air conditioning, only a window 1.5 from the floor, no hair dryer) but you can no longer cancel the reservation That is if you ask for change you have to pay between 10 and 25 e. We usually stay at Paradores because it is always a guarantee of well-being. But this Parador is not what we are used to. It needs a comprehensive renovation because it looks very old. We have the parador friends card and with it they gave us a dark, old attic room with the window so high that you couldn't see the views, which is the only worthwhile thing about the place, so I don't know very well, what customer loyalty that is... When we travel, we don't want to rush and we didn't like at all that we had shifts for breakfast, for which you have to sign up to be able to do so. In general, it was not worth the price or the category of Paradores.

The Parador is located in an enclave of pure nature, ideal for hiking, resting, enjoying the local cuisine and getting to know the Palencia Romanesque of the surrounding towns. The different rooms of the Parador, the terrace-café and the restaurant typical of a mountain hotel, are very spacious and welcoming. The breakfast and food in the restaurant were very good, the staff attentive, friendly and professional. The very spacious and comfortable room, on the fourth floor, with a terrace with spectacular views of the reservoir and its surroundings, which we enjoyed for five days.
On the other hand, the bathroom urgently needs a complete renovation, it is very far from the quality standard of the Paradores. And as a suggestion, in the breakfast service, reinforcement would be needed, they were overwhelmed and a couple of days the service was not as usual in Paradores.
Despite this, we have enjoyed it very much and fully recommend this Parador. Thank you so much!

The Parador's location is unbeatable in an extraordinary natural environment. It is surrounded by forest and paths with information about flora and fauna. Great breakfast. The bathrooms need reconditioning, especially in relation to saving water consumption.

Despite taking the cheap option and opting for the Mountain View, we were delighted as the lake view was south facing and would have made the room unbelievably hot! It was a good size room with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel, as ever in paradores every thing was clean and comfortable. We took the dinner bed breakfast option and our evening meal was very tasty. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, cheeses etc. My biggest disappointment was leaving my ear buds behind, hope someone is enjoying them now! Great parador with lovely terrace views.

Good location in a forest in front of the Ruesga reservoir. Good size rooms, mountain hotel decoration. The restaurant of the best in the parador network. From the hotel you can drive or take a walk to the reservoir and take a dip in the clean, crystal-clear waters.
