Son Foguero is an antique Majorcan possession surrounded by countryside, that was converted in a lovely and quiet hotel. Son Foguero was the first luxury petit hotel located in the country. In this house of artists, the nature merges and mixes up with the art. This is a quiet and a place of meditation. It is hardly surprising that the guests of Son Foguero, sensitive with the beautiful and nice things, come back years after years in order to relax.

Detailed Reviews

We have just returned from a 7 nights stay in Son Foguero and what an amazing place we found it to be.
Firstly, ignore any reviews for this hotel posted before June 21, as the hotel has been through a transformation since then.
If you're looking for peace and tranquility, staff that really care and delicious healthy food then look no further.
Yes you will need a car as the hotel is off the beaten track but this in itself is part of the appeal.
The hotel is very stylishly decorated throughout and is surrounded by extensive gardens, with a lovely pool area with very comfortable sun-loungers. With only a few rooms, we never had a problem finding a quiet spot to relax and soak up the sun. The only sound is the sound of birds and the occasional sheep or donkey, we loved it.
The staff are a huge asset to the Hotel; Mickey and Sara on reception were always welcoming and very helpful in recommending restaurants or places to visit, Florian, who served us breakfast in the morning, was also a pleasure to see each morning, he has a huge knowledge of the island and is multi-lingual too!
Breakfast had limited options, if you're looking for a 'full english' you'll be disappointed but if you like a healthy start to the day, you'll be happy. The choice is either a Sweet or a Salty dish, sweet being a delicious fruit based smoothy served with granola and coconut and the salty being a toast based salad with a choice of topping such as a poached egg, tuna, avocado etc. We loved it and always opted for one of each and swapped half way through.
The hotel is only a short drive from Sineu, which is a lovely little town, with an incredible market on Wednesdays. There are many restaurants and cafes, we particularly likes Can Fort in the square and Pizzeria Napoletana.
For cake and proper coffee, we love Sa Molina 13, which is close to the station.
We took the train from Sineu to Palma, which was very easy, with trains running hourly each way. There is plenty of parking around the station and it avoids negotiating the Palma traffic.
I can't recommend this hotel strongly enough, we loved it and wouldn't hesitate in giving it a 5-Star rating

My husband and I stayed at Son Foguero for 4 nights. The highlights for us were: the beautiful pool and pool area with very comfortable pool loungers, the INCREDIBLE breakfasts (so healthy and so tasty with wonderful thought and attention to detail), the comfortable bed and pillows, and the tranquillity. Unfortunately because it is a new hotel there were some things that could be improved on but they are not major issues. Improvements would be, a TV in the room, some coffee and tea making facilities in the room, a soap for the shower (there was only a hand soap in our room). We also didn't get a tour of the property as I have seen some people commented that there is a gym which I would have loved to know! So, perhaps a list of "facilities for use" in the room would be helpful too.

This hotel, located in the heart of Majorca, offers spacious rooms (a little outdated in decor and with few facilities) and a quiet and pleasant setting. The prices charged are substantial (between €350 and €400 per night) but the service and services are clearly not up to these prices. The "detox" breakfast is sparse and laboriously served, the housekeeping is not perfect, there is no 24/7 reception... The hotel clearly has a problem with the quality of service or insufficient staff. It wouldn't be a big deal if the prices weren't so high.
In summary, big disappointment.

If you want to relax in a clean environment and enjoy health food this is the place to be. And there are plenty of options to eat in the town nearby if vegetarian food is not your thing. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are very well equipped and designed, some rooms are a bit darker since it is an old Finca we would definitely come back

The reception takes some getting used to and actually arrivals with hey guys, receiving is not possible at all. The pre-ordered dinner was forgotten, the service found the same with us until then that we had to draw attention to us several times. We still received something we could have done without.
Then we hoped that this would not continue for the next few days. As always, it depends on the person, depending on who has "service", you even experience excellent service. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and with a magical view of nature.
The room is very spacious with a great view of the countryside and designed through with great taste. The pool area should receive more attention regarding cleanliness. Too bad there is no service in the pool area despite an existing bar.
This system would have more potential with a few simple approaches such as the kitchen. It doesn't always have to be high-end.
Recovery is definitely, given.

Can highly recommend the accommodation. We felt very comfortable from the beginning.
Rooms are lovingly and stylishly decorated and nothing is missing. The breakfast is delicious and changes daily. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The daily yoga classes are very relaxing and also suitable for people who have not touched yoga before.
The location is also excellent. It is quiet and a bit off. By car, however, you are in a few minutes in the towns of Sineu or Petra, where a large selection of very good restaurants awaits you.

The whole area is wonderful and very relaxing and quiet. If you want to come with your family, friends or even for a romantic getaway Son Foguero is definitely the place to go.
We found the rooms very clean and very comfortable with a good service. The first day at the pool was great as well, as the sun was hot and the water was very refreshing.
Most of the time we were away on a walk visiting the area and the restaurants. Our friends had a fantastic time and we did as well.
We loved it here and hope to come back, fair well!

Booked as a romantic get away only to find the large double mattress we had specified as necessary, was in fact, two single mattresses. I wish I could photo how uncomfortable they were. You can feel the springs when you lie on the bed and the ridge in the middle is not ideal for a romantic get away. At no point do the owner contact us to say a double bed was unavailable, even though we had tried contacting him direct, prioir to booking, and mentioned it on our special requests. There was NOONE to greet us and noone to answer the phone. It took another guest to tell us where the room was, as there was no reception and everything looked very unofficial and possibly illegal ? Yes the views were lovely and the garden well maintained, but with noone to tell us any of the amenities, not even where to eat for breakfast, wifi access code, and then the old box tv didnt work and electric sockets overloaded dangerously. I am tempted to contact consumo with regards reporting this as a health hazard ! There was noone when we arrived, noone to answer the phone, and noone when we left, in disgust, one hour later !!!!
We had requested late check out as we wanted the weekend to last as long as pssible, but check out is at 10am, and we were told it is not possible to stay later as there was no room availability, that they were all full....yet, (unfortunately, as it turned out), we found there WAS availability, so booked another night with booking.com, but prior to having seen the place... what a mistake. Now the hotel totally refuse to give any deposit back !! Appallingly mismanaged, by management who lie about their dangerous dirty place...(we cannot call it a hotel, according to booking.com, it isnt one !) and can only think prior reviews were by people who had never seen a nice view before, as this was the place' s only redeeeming feature !
As a traveller who has stayed in 100's of hotels from huge hotels with 100's of beds, to boutique hotels and agroturismos, I can truly say this is the worst ever !
