This hotel has an ideal view of the fjord. The hotel has alot of history and even an old car museum in it. Rooms were modern and well kept. The food at the hotel was very good with good service. The hotel itself is about 600meters up and uphill road and there is plenty of parking available.
This hotel is absolutely worth a recommendation, it’s very historic and authentic and has a great location. The staff seams very professional and they’re very helpful. We had our dinner in the brassiere, with a fantastic view. It was delightful and tasty, and I must say the same about the breakfast. Everything looks nice and clean on the hotel. They also have a nice spa, but unfortunately I didn’t tried it out. Remember to visit the veteran car garage hidden in the basement.
We had a great experience. The room was Nice with a great view to the Fjord. Swimmingpool inside and outside and Spa treatments if you like. Nearby is it stairs along the river down to Geiranger. You have to try it. We took a lovely ferry to Hellesylt and back, you will see the eagle Road and a lot of waterfalls. The 3 course dinner at the hotel Restaurant Was very good. The pink gin and tonic at the bar was marvelous. You have to try it. Breakfast included and with local food :)
The hotel it self has nothing special to offer except a vintage car exhibition and location, was dissapointed to find urine-stains om the toilet seat in my room, along with tobacco on the bathtub. The food however..... the chefs here should get an enormous raise! What a culinary experience! I have never before been served traditional Norwegian christmasfood as delicious as this in a restaurant before. Hat off, for the chefs!
The view out of the breakfast room/restaurant was picture worthy. A short walk takes you down to the steps beside the waterfall; a climb up worth the effort. Memorable. Path ends in the village below. In the evening the hotel serves a very large buffet for dinner. Very large, Room was good size with toiletries and mini-bar. Lighting was good, but there were a lot of different lamps to turn on. There could have been a few more outlets, but that is a small thing. First class experience.
