We weren't sure what to expect after having read previous reviews and so were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The Hotel was bright, airy and very clean. Our boat was late in arriving by a couple of hours, but the hotel staff was prepared to receive us in an organised manner and even better, our dinner was prepared for us....

Just returned after a week at this, sometimes reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, hotel. This hotel is a lovely rustic building set in beautiful surroundings with marvellous views. The first room we were given was awful, tiny with a door that didn't shut properly. However, we were moved without any fuss and the second room was great, apart from a lack...

We spent a week at the hotel and were very pleased. It is well appointed, great value for money with excellent food. Vulcano is very laid back, beautiful and great for a relaxed and lazy chill holiday. We visited Lipari which is much busier and less pleasant. I hesitate to recommend it too highly as crowds would spoil its' charm.

One of the most peaceful locations we have ever been to. The hotel is traditional and set in a side road behind the small village and within a large garden, this means there is no traffic noise, just the sound of the birds. 5 minutes walk to the village and its' amenities. Our ‘classic’ front facing room overlooked the garden...

Lovely relaxing holiday. Staff very helpful, especially Sebastiana on reception for sorting out trips and discounts. We had a junior suite which was excellent but a little too close to reception for ringing phones and guests talking at reception. They asked if we would like to change rooms, which we did and though we downgraded, the room was still very...

Very convenient location, neither too close nor too far from the harbour. Literally 2 minutes walk from the black sand beach. Great view from the terrace and well kept garden with pool that we didn't use given proximity to the transparent Mediterranean. All good then? Unfortunately, not. We had HB and while the breakfast was just OK, the dinner was...

Stayed for one night with teenage children. Booked a quadruple which turned out to be a double plus a double sofabed. As I would expect at this price point (about £200 at current exchange rates) the room very clean and very well equipped, bathroom was lovely, bed comfortable (and sofabed not too bad as such things go). Breakfast was good...

Nice garden and location close to the beach. Friendly and attentive staff in the reception. But... Poor wifi and only in lobby. Booked a suite (302) and were assigned two bedrooms instead of the usual bedroom plus living room. No fridge in either room! Not worth the four stars and extra money. No elevator to first or second floor. Breakfast...

The Garden Hotel is cute and the structure has a potential. There's no swimming pool though, despite the black-sand beach is 5 minutes walking. Breakfast may be subject to improvement. We had requested specifically a "no-smoking room" but at our arrival we had to face the fact that the room had hosted smokers before. The smoke smell was quite clearly present...
