The renovated "new" Landhaus Stricker was once again our dream destination on Sylt in August '23. Kerstin and Holger Bodendorf have been running the house for a long time with their personality, warmth and high level of commitment, and there is a great team behind them. The new rooms and suites are top-notch, boldly colorful, elegant and show an eye for the finer things. Bathrooms are chic and very functional. Bravo! The visit to Bodendorfs was once again the "weekly highlight" with sensational cuisine, very friendly service from three ladies and of course the men in white. The wine list with 900 titles was "amazing" and there was almost too much to choose from. We had a great week on our favorite island with golf, cycling, shopping and enjoyment, and the beautiful weather with lots of sun naturally contributed to this too.

The gastronomy at Landhaus Stricker really impressed us. Both the breakfast (various, freshly prepared egg dishes etc.) , and the food in the restaurant 1784 was first class. However, we were less enthusiastic about our hotel room. We had received a room facing the street, which means constant street noise, a quiet afternoon on the terrace was not possible. The room was nice and quality equipped, unfortunately the mattress was sagged and the pillow of inferior quality, as the room has no air conditioning, it was very warm at night,
The staff were all very friendly.
We can recommend the restaurant without restriction, but for our next Sylt stay we would again choose another hotel.

We felt really comfortable from the moment we arrived. Arriving here really means arriving in every respect. It is a feeling of casual professionalism that makes it easy to leave everyday life behind and clear your head of everything that weighs you down. Our country house suite impressed me with its modern and very tasteful furnishings and impeccable cleanliness, day after day. A big compliment to the housekeeping team! Delicious mini muffins at turn-down sweetened the end of the day, a daily newspaper in front of the door in the morning made the day well-informed to start the day, and everyone took great care of the well-being of each individual guest. We visited and used the 1787 restaurant, the Miles Bar and breakfast, as well as the spa including the gym. Everything, all around, is recommended without any worries. The best cuisine, great service and a quiet atmosphere with a lounge character in the spa. Only the gourmet restaurant no longer fit into our daily schedule. So we will have to come back and make up for it. Thank you to Holger Bodendorf and the whole team. It was great!

Location is in a residential area, on a tight site, positioned between the airport and the railway line.
No one helped us get our luggage out of our hire car.
At dinner, main course took 90 minutes to arrive.
We left three days early and the cashier had been told to charge us €150 per person x4, for not wanting to dine in house again, even though the hotel agreed they hadn't confirmed the booking.
Positives;
Ground floor bedroom and garden terrace were nice and relaxing.
Breakfast buffet was great.

Travelling with my wife from one Chateau and Relais hotel to another, we are looking for something special. Landhaus Stricker is certainly no special, is only overpriced. Location of this hotel was carefully selected. Somebody was looking for spot with the longest distance from the beach and all tourist attractions, but close to train rails, airport field and on the edge of the only industrial zone on this island. So be prepared to use your car or at least, weather permitting, bikes. Nothing is within the walking distance, and there is no charm in walking around. There are two types of highly overpriced rooms: on the ground floor or some kind of duplex first floor. Avoid duplex – bed is located upstairs with steep, narrow and twisted stairs. Nobody will help you with your luggage, and bathroom is downstairs only. We are sporty types, but it was a real challenge. King bed in this hotel means two beds together and you can clearly see and feel the separation. Looking for the bright side – breakfasts are wonderful, with fresh and carefully selected ingredients. Delicious! Also Wi-fi works fine. Does it justify going there? Well, I don’t think so.

We had booked a superior room and were upgraded to a country house suite. That was the first positive surprise. The unforced friendliness of the staff both in the service and at the reception suggests a good atmosphere. The quality of the breakfast cannot be surpassed. The restaurant was also excellent. We have stayed in many hotels, but in terms of cleanliness and perfection - including the room design - the Landhaus Stricker cannot be surpassed!

Everything was very nice. The staff was very nice, beautifully renovated and clean. The food in the restaurant was delicious. It was great that breakfast was served until 2 p.m. There were only two small things: the WiFi hardly worked and there were no slippers for the spa. But I can warmly recommend the hotel and we will definitely come back.

We stayed at Landhaus Stricker for a long weekend. The room was ready to move into and beautifully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very well decorated. The breakfast and the snacks on the terrace were tasteful and there was something for everyone. The staff and the service were very friendly and accommodating. We also tried out the spa, at least the pool, which was pleasantly warm and excellently equipped. We can only recommend the hotel and would come back.

We stayed in this unique hotel for 3 days with two children. The hospitality is outstanding. The gastronomy offers something for everyone. Our children love the pool area. We really enjoyed the saunas. We will definitely come back in the summer. Thanks to the entire team at Landhaus Stricker, including Kerstin and Holger!
