An excellent stay! The hotel offers first-class service. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially at the reception. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of dishes. The location of the hotel is also great. We were completely satisfied and can only recommend this hotel!

Good business hotel immediately outside Düsseldorf easy to reach from the airport and close to the motorways
Good services (paid parking), internal restaurant, sauna, gym, bar….. spacious rooms but which betray the signs of time (worn lamps and some stains in the silicone in the bathroom)…. A general renovation wouldn't hurt
Overall good
Good restaurant / good breakfast

A great hotel with great helpful staff. Nice bar area. Food options were good, and breakfast was good.
Everything was clean, bedrooms and bathrooms spacious. Nice big car park. Will defo be back!
There is a McDonald’s, KFC and Subway on the doorstep. Easy to find off of the motorway.

We spent three nights in this hotel and really enjoyed it. We were accommodated in the newly Refurbished room. The room was very spacious, nicely furbished and very quite. The front desk staff and the restaurant staff were all very helpful and pleasant. When going to Düsseldorf we will definitely come back.

I recently had the chance staying at the Kaarst Mercure hotel for several nights as a part of a business trip.
Being a well traveled person I've seen many hotels from the top of the line luxurious hotels to poorly maintained business hotels.
The Mercure Kaarst would probably be somewhere in the lower middle of my list..and that mostly to few reasons that I've never came across in business hotels which by definition are meant to serve people who are traveling as part of their job and expecting somewhat welcoming environment on their spare time.
The hotel itself is pretty pragmatic.
Nothing fancy, basic rooms not too big, not the best location if you're into city center, shower was ok and the room was clean.
The hotel had a little gym (very basic) and it would've been nice if the staff would've make sure that there's water in the water cooler every now and then.
There's also a little indoor swimming pool and a sauna which is working only from 15:00 which is kind of peculiar..never saw a spa that requires an extra payment to operate a facility.
Breakfast was ok...it was very noticeable that every morning they had the exact same breakfast as the day before...again maybe it's not important for someone who stays for one night but when one is about to stay for a longer period of time, some culinary diversity and creativity is more than welcome.
The breakfast staff were normally very friendly and attentive.
The critical points of my rather negative review goes mostly due the behavior of the reception & housekeeping staff which was sometimes outrageous.
Housekeepers where constantly invading my room even when the 'do not disturb' sign was on which is very un respectful and it was just annoying. (Why did you put those signs for if you're completely ignoring it)
One time I was sleeping while a house kipper came into the room and switched the lights on...once he realized I'm sleeping he left the room without even bothering shutting the light off. Seriously?!
I'm not even mentioning the loud noise house kippers are doing while cleaning neighboring rooms and slamming the doors in a way that the entire room is shaking.
I had few encounters with the receptionists.
A blonde lady that was very nice and helpful
A young guy..probably at his early 20s that I saw mostly at night and he was super nice and friendly.
And the two other guys where just outrageous!!
A tall guy in his late 40s with a white beard and another younger guy with a ginger beard those two should not be working with people and definitely not as a front desk personal.
Their attitude was arrogant, unpleasant and even offensive as I heard the way the where speaking to some of the guests.
If I were a manager in that hotel I would recommend those two to be more respectful and willing to serve their customers and if they are un capable of doing so maybe it's the wrong job for them.
I have never seen such a disrespecting attitude in a hotel front desk personal ever in my life.
That's the only reason I wouldn't stay in that hotel in my future trips.
And I would really recommend staying there only when no other choice given.

First the location. It looks like a deserted Klingon outpost. Free outside parking. So far so "good". At check in staff was medium friendly and a bit incompetent. Room was super hot and a/c was not working. Bathroom was smelly and looked like it needed refurbishment. Food was ok. Due to the non operating a/c and around 35 C in my room I could barely sleep. I checked out in the morning to change hotel. This hotel is NOT recommendable to others.

Airport style hotel in a very unappealing location. Underneath the main approach runway of Dusseldorf airport – which opens at 6AM – rooms not sound proof. Overall this hotel could use a refresh: All public areas look outdated and the room is quite worn (water damage, off white towels, curtains).
I had book a junior suite – this meant the room had a small bench and a table. The couch was so hard you couldn’t sit on it. There was no minibar in the room.
The overall state of things made I did not check the sauna or swimmingpool, because I question some of the hotel’s hygiene.
Breakfast OK, but pitty the fruit section only had the fruit salads (one of them canned) – scrambled eggs tasted like flour.
Hotel location is unappealing in a dark industrial area, next to IKEA a couple of supermarkets and a gas station.
Efficient and friendly check in, overall friendly staff.
Overall: I would not recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised by the standards of the hotel rooms and service provided by the staff, especially so for a hotel in Europe.
The rooms were bigger than expected, comfortable, basic toiletries provided and the coffee machine was a nice touch.
To be honest I didn’t have high hopes for this hotel as it is in Europe where hotels aren’t the best compare to Asia. I must say, Mercure has really kept to its high standards as I have stayed in Grand Mercure in Shanghai and Mercure in Bangkok.
Though there is a lack of the full suite of in-room amenities like a iron, ironing board, many towels, basic toiletries like comb and tooth brush, those items can be requested for and quickly send by the room service staff.
I think the best part of my hotel stay is the breakfast! There is a wide selection of cheese, hams, bread, museli, yoghurt, eggs and fruits. I throughly enjoyed my breakfast every morning and I miss it very much.
The only con to this hotel is the 10min walk to Ikea Kaarst station and it is not really walking distance to McDonald’s and KFC. Although if you’re staying there, you’re close to the supermarket Aldi, discount supermarket opposite the petrol station and you can take a free shuttle from the train station to ikea and have a nice meal there!
All in all, I would stay there again if I’m driving and i want to be away from the city.
