Really enjoyed the opportunity to spend the night in a castle! Make sure to specify whether you want a room in the castle itself, which may cost more, or the annex, which isn't directly part of the castle. There is an upper castle on the grounds which is mostly ruins, but was great to wander around. Cute and fun location... More

We stayed in two double rooms during our tour of the brothers Grimm fairy tale route to visit Marburg. The hotel is not expensive, the rooms are spacious. The bed and deco was rustic and simple not luxurious but this castle hotel has its charm. The reataurant was great and served great food. We loved the woods in the grounds... More

Approximately 45 minutes from Frankfurt, and adjacent to Giessen, easy access to good roads. There was ample free parking. A mixture of old world castle and a more modern extension. My room in the extension was clean and tidy. The staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English. Was a little surprised to find that the bar only opens at... More

This was my wedding anniversary surprise for my wife - and I can say we were both very happy with the selection. As many of the previous commentators have pointed out - this is a castle, not a 21st centuty superhotel. A very charming castle with attentive staff, a room with a _view_ and a restaurant definately worth recommending. There... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. From the great view, to an excellent lunch, to a filling breakfast, to a nice clean room. It was all first rate. However, A couple of things to watch out for if you chose this location: 1. It is a castle and it has stairs. The climb I mention is up the stairs in... More

This is a nice hotel, rooms are ok, but bathroom needs a renovation. It's clean and everything works fine, but it will remind you at the 70's. We also had dinner in the restaurant, the service is very friendly and the food is also great. So why only three points? Because conpaired with the other castles (I have stayed in... More

One of the highlights of our trip to Germany. The castle was gorgeous, you were transformed back in time with the atmosphere, the rooms, the food, the servers, the gardens. Can't say enough about he rooms! EXCELLENT! CLEAN! Worth every euro! Mini bar included, chocolates on your pillows, cherry in a decanter. We stayed in September, and the grounds were... More

Loved the location, the rooms we so spacious and after a day on a motoribike was happy to see such a lovely, clean, big bath!! Went to the bar where the staff kindly served us, despite being 45mins before the bar opened. We then ate in the resturant which was first class food! The staff were so very helpful and... More

If you need amenities like internet in your room or elevators, when this hotel might not be the best choice for you. As LK0162 mentioned in her review, it is a castle, and as such you need to understand that some amenities (like an elevator) are just not available. However, if that is not an issue, when Burg Staufenberg is... More

We were so excited to stay at Hotel Burg Staufenberg - it was a unique experience and made all the better by the staff and the incredible food at the restaurant, Ritterkeller. We were there in January so it was cold and icy but I managed to explore the grounds a little and it was everything one would expect from... More
