I stayed here one night of a week long business trip. The hotel staff was very hospitable. The breakfast was good. The location is walking distance to shopping, and sits about a long stones throw from the river. I loved the cobble stone streets. The room had hardwood floors and a very small desk to put my laptop on. The... More

This is an old building but they are in renovation. Despite the renovation however, everything runs smooth and nice and the guest does not suffer much because of the running renovation. The only drawbacks were the lack of a parking place (they have only a few which were already occupied) and a kind of typical stink belonging to old buildings... More

Vilshofen is a lovely town. A real small one. And a dock location for AmaWaterways and other rivercruises. I've booked this hotel because I need to stay a night and wait for the ship. It turns out that the hotel was real close to the docks, like 10 steps away and also I was surprise with the bedroom, wide for... More

Stayed here for 2 nights before a river cruise. Great room with a view of the Danube and the schnitzel in the restaurant was outstanding. The menu was in German so we were a little stuck so the waiter came over and suggested schnitzel and then asked what we "don't" want on it... then he brought us a selection of... More

Delightful setting on the banks of the Danube. An easy walk over the bridge to the local airstrip, where many residents go for lunch, so it must be good! Colourful exterior with lovely old (but clean!) interior, quite possibly an old riverside wharf or warehouse building. Helpful, friendly staff and comfortable, clean rooms - highly recommended.

Stayed one night here prior to boarding Danube river cruise. So convenient to the dock...walked out the hotel door and across the paved courtyard to the loading ramp. Excellent restaurant. Comfortable bed. Large room. Professional and friendly staff. Within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.

We have spent a fabulous 4 nights at this hotel. It is a quaint family run hotel in an old historic buildings opposite the Danube. We stayed here as we were going to a friends wedding at a nearby castle. The room was spacious with a small shower/bathroom. The TV was huge with one channel in English CNN, not an... More

After booking our river cruise on AMA Sonata we began the search for a hotel near the embarkation point Vilshofen, Germany. It became apparent that this was a small town and we looked at other reviews of the Zollhaus we booked the hotel. We arrived around 8 pm after the train trip from Munich. It was kind of difficult to... More

The hotel is set in an old historical building. Very nice and romantic place. The restaurant is great with nice dishes, both German and international cuisine. Employees are helpfull and the owner is a real gentleman. Good breakfast and nice view over the Danube river.
