Just like each one of you ;The beginning of a new year is a very important part for our family too and we welcome it with our Kuladevi darshan at Aadivre a village in Ratnagiri district . Ratnagiri is a port town in Maharashtra, western India. A place we visit every year as a base for our temple tour. This year we decided to explore a home stay ‘Mango Villa’ in Ratnagiri. Where do I start? The Mango villa is gorgeous, beautifully designed and decorated. From the first moment we walked into the villa, we were greeted by Manisha and the staff with a welcome drink Kokam sarbat. The staff ,Vilas,Jyoti and Manisha, are wonderful! So kind, thoughtful and courteous. They are very helpful and lovely to be around, yet know how to blend into the background and still be there when you need them. The house manager, is there to check in on what you might need and will take care of your needs. Jyoti Kaki and Vilas, are the villa’s private chefs who made us many delicious Maharashtrian lunches ,dinners as well as breakfast every morning. Awesome food!!! Will have to mention that the team is exceptional in cooking. Am sure I have put-on a few kilo’s just in 2 days of stay. Three cheers to the entire team! This home stay , the house,its garden is all beautifully built and maintained very well. If you need to retreat as well then there is plenty of room for you to find a cosy corner of the house to settle into a good book . The rooms are spacious and quiet too, so you can shut out the world when you need to rest up. We stayed here for 2 days. Very neatly maintained property & most courteous people I have come across in the near past. We stayed in the first floor room that has a nice balcony with a view of a small temple.The chirping sound of birds was a welcome way to greet mornings. To see spectacular villa illuminated at night in all its Glory set the tone for the next two amazing days. Mango villa - a home away from home. Such an amazing home with high class hospitality, great food, homely affection . We feel incredibly lucky and privileged to have been looked after so well by all the staff. We feel totally rejuvenated and restored and a bit sad to leave. A magical place with magical people. I'll be back in no time at all!

The property is centrally located. In spite of being in the middle of the city the surroundings are quite & peaceful. The cleanliness here is remarkable!! Our room was spacious & very clean. Everything here is very well maintained. The staff was friendly and co-operative. The tariff does not include food but they have a fixed & limited menu which they shared with us. The food was tasty but could do with some more variety. The homestay has 4 rooms and we stayed on the ground floor. Our check-in/out was handled well. The breakfast begins at 9AM which I found quite late & hence we had to skip our breakfast that day. Other than that everything was as per expectation. A good, quite place to enjoy a calm & peaceful stay.

My whole family was impressed with the cleanliness of this stay. We felt as if we are staying in a five star hotel. The food is very tasty here. My little one also got fresh homemade food which made our stay a very pleasant one. We felt as if it is our second home and didn't want to roam around. Reading books and just lying down in the garden while getting pampered. Thanks to the staff and property owner to make our holidays a soothing one. I wish we could come and stay at least for one month to stay and enjoy here

I visited Mango villa, Ratnagiri last week and stayed there for one night. Some positives from our stay were: 1. Property is very nice with lush garden 2. Toilets are really clean 3. Food prepared by cook was very tasty and staff was very courteous and helpful
Some things that I felt could be improved were: 1. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable 2. No quilts provided and the comfortor given was very cheap and bit smelly 3. Based on the room conditions and amenities provided, I felt the room was bit expensive. If the bedding and linen etc is improved, the quality of stay will improve immensely.

Basic things were not working- like geyser/heater went faulty n my family has to use cold water in December for bathing. Power went off the whole day and generator was fault we have to spend time even without fans for the rooms booked with AC. Extra bed were very bad and uncomfortable, with pin holes and torn bedsheets. The biggest problem that I noticed is they don't have any manager or authorative person who will take care of guests needs properly. Everything is left on poor serving chaps who don't know anything about hospitality. We wasted a lot of time and energy due to this unorganised behaviour. Pros- Good food served by the lady who mange kitchen. (Only in fix hours) Rooms and washrooms are clean. Villa is decent.

Dear Sir, Your manipulation about the age of accompanying children at the time of booking was brought to notice right at the time of check-in by the smart staff at the reception.. why get into raising unnecessary conflicts when you plan a leisure time with family ? Tip 1)- Whenever you travel next time, please carry a photo identity card with you to avoid discomfort (it is a must for checking in a hotel). Tip 2)- Please find time to read the hotel policy before booking any place in the future and try to adhere to it to avoid future inconvenience. Tip 3)- In many hotels/Homestays or work places nowadays there are women managers. At our place, the lady who manages the kitchen is also the property manager and her name is madam Manisha. For your information we are a gender equal organization and we do not underestimate the capabilities of women. We also expect our guests to be chivalrous to women. Tip 4)- Such hilarious false reviews only reveals once personality further. Take care..

The local food the place offers is very delicious.All the spaces and rooms are meticulously clean and well maintained.The garden is nice with variety of plants and flowers. The property manager madam Manisha is very humble and caring.There is ample space for parking. There is Separate arrangement for driver in the property, though it is chargeable. Centrally located from all the tourist places.Calm and peaceful stay with good hospitality.Thanks for the care that was taken .. My family felt as if it is our own second home.

The rooms are very clean.One can get kokani food which is homemade and tasty. The staff is helpful.The location of the Villa is centrally located from all the tourist destination around.The garden in the property is well maintained

We checked-in late evening and it got us a little while to locate the property. The street leading here didn't have any street lights. We got a call from the staff asking for our dinner order for preparation purpose, but we preferred to dine outside. Got a space to park the vehicle within premises and check-in was fast. Room was adequate with very limited facilities most of which were available at the common living area. Villa is located very close to the city center. Only thing we disliked was that the staff asked us to budget our breakfast to 150 bucks which they were suppose to prepare in the morning. We really did not understand as it was already included in our package booked through MMT which charged us much more than this. Otherwise the property was decent to spend a night for. It seems good for groups though.

I must admit that it is really a home away from your own home. Ideal location, extreme cleaniness, very humble staff, silence thrilled with bird chirppings and obviously extremely delicious food. Nothing more can be perfect, which I personally felt here. A must visit in Ratnagiri.

My family and I spent a day at Mango Villa in end May. Premise is well maintained and staff very courteous. Food was also tasty and freshly prepared.
A couple of things stood out for me - though i had booked the room at night, when I called the next morning to confirm, I was immediately recognised and given confirmation.
Inadvertently my daughter left behind one of her clothes which the staff very kindly not only couriered back to me but did not accept any money for.
Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay at Ratnagiri.
