Found this last minute after Cloud Valley cancelled at the last minute and we couldn't be more thrilled. After a host of places cancelled because they wanted direct bookings and not give commission, we were gratefully accommodated here at the last minute even though staff weren't expecting anyone that night. This is a quaint property nestled in the woods of Coorg and surely is Woody Woods. You leave civilization behind and are in the woods of Coorg perched deep inside the mountain. Rooms are big with balconies overlooking the plantations or woods. Staff is very polite and attentive and even our driver approved, which is rare in this part. Food was tasty and the local pork and chicken is something you should definitely order. It seems Coorg is low on vegetables and we had to specifically ask for salads to get some but that seems to be the case in most of India (non-veg means only meat curry with no veggies in it). Great place and highly recommended.…
The homestay is one of the best place to stay if you visit the Coorg valley. It is 30 mins away from the centre of Madikeri and in the middle of the coffee plantation and dense Forrest . If people are looking for peace and relaxation I would totally recommend this place,. It is easy to locate and has sign posting in the main road. The manager and the staff are very courteous and helpful , they are better than the staff you would find in any 5star property. It has 5 bedroom with planation view room . It is a very quite area and I totally loved the whole experience. The food served is very good and they have a menu from which you can order. I will personally recommend this place to anyone who will be going to coorg valley and will always stay at this place every time I come towards coorg. Keep up the good job . Well done to the manager…
Location: If you are in Coorg to be amongst nature and away from the world, then this is a good property. Accessibility: It is far from Madikeri and one of the lesser known properties. Should stay here only if you have your own car else commuting in and around Coorg would be a problem. Staff: Very polite staff. However, they understand basic Hindi and English so communicating is lil challenged. Also they really need to learn about food hygiene. Rooms: There is only one room worth the money, which is the one overlooking the plantation. It is the only one with a balcony. But you can pull a chair in the balcony and read a book or two the whole day. Food: Very average and limited options. High point about the stay: The serenity around, the chirping of insects and birds and been away from the crowd. If you request the staff, they will provide a tour of the plantation which is just on the opposite of the road. And too free of cost! I write this because when we were enquiring around, some plantations were asking for 150bucks per person per hour for a walk!!! Low: Food. Very average in taste, very limited options and very badly maintained. The kitchen is away from the main property. That's also where the staff stays. Everytime they would carry food to the dining space, they would never cover the food, even in rains. This means it would get cold and wet at times! …
We four adults stayed at this homestay on the 27th May 2017. This is a very good property set amidst a coffee and spice plantation. It has a very pleasing design and has well appointed rooms, modern fittings, everything you would wish. We had a great stay and would like to compliment the staff. Suggestions are to carry cash as they do not have cards as an accepted tender and get the property location prior as mobile networks do not work here. Food was great with inclusive breakfast. In short - perfect stay.
**We stayed in Woody woods Homestay in April 2017 with family.** *WHY VISIT : Visit it for Beautiful Interiors of the house with great cleanliness & maintenance, Awesome Greenery all around the house inside campus & Privacy. *WHY NOT VISIT : Do not visit if you want the perfect commercial hotel experience. Also, do not visit if you cant stand insects. Service is fast but food & beverage are quite average in taste and option. LOCATION & TRAVEL : It is located in interior roads of Madikeri. You have a connecting road from main road of Madikeri. No connectivity for public transport. Own/Rented vehicles are the only option. INFRASTRUCTURE & LOGISTICS : The House is spacious and clean with duplex patterned rooms and spacious places outside room to gather for tea/snacks. Rooms have plenty of furniture & wardrobes. Fan & TV is there. No AC. No Fridge. It is not densely crowded so you will have good privacy there. At the entrance of house you have a garden area with a Bon-fire place. View is beautiful! FOOD : Food was the only average thing! Firstly, they do not have a restaurant. There is an out house where they cook food. They have a dining room in main building where they serve cooked food. Though the service is fast, but they don't have much option for food. And whatever they cook will be very average in taste. The Tea was pathetic most of the times. So basically you will not enjoy the food there. We even requested in advance to prepare Fish on demand, but they could not arrange Fish. Just chicken was possible. STAFF& SERVICE : Service is fast. Staff is helpful. But please ask for the portable calling bell before you let the staff go else you will need to walk into their service quarter to call the staff. I called the owner and then only got to know there is some portable bell available to call them for service. NETWORK : Worst part is network! Although they give you free wifi, but You will not get major phone networks at all like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea as soon as you enter the house. I literally lived without phone for 2 days. There is no way you can make a single call from that place. BSNL is the only mobile network that might be found and that also hardly works. So in a nutshell, You can access internet & internet apps like whatsapp, facebook BUT you Can NOT make any calls from your phone. Overall its a beautiful and well maintained house with fast service. They might want to work on handling insect problem, food options and mobile network connectivity.…
It was nice to be at WoodyWoods. Except food, all was very good. Ambiance, environment, cleanliness. The bedrooms are spacious. I would recommend this hotel to friends. If you are very foody and need excellent food at night or breakfast, then it is not for you. If you are looking for a great time with spacious environment, then definetly you love it.
The location of the property is out if the world. Beautifully situated in between the forest. The two guys working there tried their best to provide us good service, but i thought they lacked man power. The fan of the room wqs very scary, it was shaking like anything with each circulation. The washroom was dirty and not cleaned at all. The room could be more cleaner. Overall its a good property but not well maintained
The property is around 8 km on the way towards Talacauveri from the Raja's seat in Madikeri. It is surrounded by coffee and spice plantation and is in very peaceful location. We were a family of 5 and booked two deluxe rooms in the bungalow. The rooms are large and washrooms have great fittings. The furniture in the rooms have a classy look. Wi-fi is available. Lunch and dinner are served if ordered beforehand, food is good. Breakfast which is included in the package is basic with 2-3 items but good. Rooms have Sony HD television though picture quality was not very good. Behavior of all the staff especially that of the manager Bipin was very cordial and full of warmth. What I liked the most: Rooms especially the bathrooms. One negative aspect is that they do not have card swipe machines. Overall, we had a great stay.…
Rooms were spacious and extremely well maintained. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Food was amazing - Especially dinner. Morning walk in the estate should not be missed and it would good for two night stay over one to explore all around.
We went as a family of 5 to this property and must say that the property is well maintained and it is an apt place for weekend gateways away from the hustle & bustle of the city, only if you do prefer it that way, since there is no communications & nothing close-by, just nature and you. Pros: Close to Nature, Very good food (home cooked and just adequate), Well maintained and large rooms with balcony space and a nice living hall, View of estates and plantation visits. Cons: There is no intercom facility (hence difficult to get the host attention if you stay 1st floor and need to walk down every time), Water Heater doesn't work at times. Advice to Management: Keep up the good work, try to improve on your service by providing intercom facility for room service. Increase bathroom supplies (like mini soaps, brush, mini paste etc.). These are very small changes, but can improve customer experience.…
