This was a good resort for the family. We were 4 couples and each room is having duplex type. The management is very cooperative and service was excellent. I enjoyed filter coffee every morning. The only complaint was, AC not working. Staff tried to fix it but couldn't. As weather was pleasant, we could manage.

Very nice homestay with home cooked tasty food. Don't expect 5 star services but its clean, family friendly with helping staff, all ladies. Parking is available. DInner service is really good with food which can be customised as per your taste. Cottages are big and can easily accommodate 2 families with kids.

We have booked this through traveltriangle (and they through customizetrip.com). We reached there around 8:30PM, it was dark all over and the time we reached there was power cut on and off (we did not know that) 1. When we reached there, there was only one lady who came out and opened the gate. (it was raining as well) 2. Power went out while we were still in the car 3. Then she switched on the generator. 4. She said to get into the duplex right in front of us and to take care of the check in formalities next day (as the madam of the property is not there and will come only next day) 5. We took our hand bags and went in to check the place out. (In the meanwhile her husband I think came and took the other bags from the car and kept inside the place) 6. We asked for the dinner and they said madam did not tell us, (problem was the customizetrip.com fellows did not inform these guys about our booking, which we fully paid for and without any bargaining at all) 7. Then I started talking to the madam, and said no food, no power, she said just deal with it and go have food about 3 kms away (as the cooks went home as well) 8. We immediately packed our bags and left from that place No refunds whatsoever, never ever ever book this, they claim that they are 4*, I am not sure if they even know what they are claiming. Very nice and peaceful place. Its at the right side of the road which goes to the Club Mahindra Resort. There are total 3 cottages, attached to each other (like row houses). Each cottage has 2 bedrooms, one at ground level other at 1st floor. the steps to the 1st floor bedroom is from the ground floor bedroom, just like any duplex house. There are 2 bathrooms (very big), for each bedroom. Each bedroom has a TV. Those who wants home cooked food then look no further. This is the place. But need to order the lunch and dinner before 11AM, so that the cook(a lady) can go to market and buy the vegetables. They have a in-house kitchen which is run by 2-3 ladies. Its all ladies group there. They make very homely food. So people who are looking for Chatpata khanna, avoid this place. You will only get the food that will take care of your stomach. But thats the thing that matters. Who wants to spoil their trip eating road side food. Car parking is for 3 cars. One for each cottage. If a group comes with 2 cars then I think they have to park their extra car outside near the road. which I felt is not safe as its a quite busy road. A perfect place to relax and enjoy with parents and families. Very safe for ladies. You will feel like home. The ladies (staff) will take good care of you Inform them in advance (before 10-11 am) if you want to each lunch or dinner there. A perfect place for Families and Ladies. Bachelors can avoid this ;)…

I stayed here 2 days in last week with family. Its fairly small place with few rooms, but the rooms are duple in style with really spacious. Its really suitable for 5-6 people group, with out any difficulties. Its actually a extended style home stay, well behaved and really feels the hospitality in service. both rooms have TV and bathrooms and kept very neat. Locations is bit away, but not so far and if your have a vehicle, it doesn't matter. i will definitely recommend this place.

Nice location, nice people, curtious staff, parking available. This is perfect place if you have a big family or friends going together. Big duplex rooms, property is little old but well maintained, near to most off all attractions. Over all good experience.

We had stayed here for three days and the hospitality was really really amazing. They provide free wi-fi and breakfast. The breakfast was just amazing and irresistible. They also provide dinner, but it is paid. They have a swing and a hammock. The have badminton rackets, and many other board games. It is always better to stay in a home stay than staying in a resort.

The cottages are spacious, clean and very well maintained with great ambience with comfortable sit outs . The staff are very warm, friendly and hospitality is at its best. The food is homemade and delicious and we get variety of dishes on order. The accommodation is of easy access . I would recommend this as an ideal homestay for families :-) Not to forget the throwaway price :-)

The location of "Lotus the cottages" is unique, nested in a quiet nook of a hilly road, it has a natural nature-walk trail along the cottage perimeter. The rooms were spacious and very clean, well- maintained, especially the bathrooms. House staffs are very hospiatble, cheerful, and always ready to help. Food was delicious and healthy, served hot just like home. We had great time exploring Madikeri for 4 days, and coming back to home-like set up every evening on that trip.
