Notting Hill is a quaint and elegant home built in Coorg Colonial style with beautiful wooden ceilings and long Verandah, is situated on Stuart hill with a beautiful view of the town of Madikeri and the hills behind. It has three well appointed rooms with attached bathrooms. With a lawn and garden in front of the home, lot of garden space filled with fruit tress around the homestay for the children to run around. The guests can enjoy a cup of the highly famed Coorg coffee while watching the clouds roll in, or watching the early morning sunrise. This will be an ideal home away from home. We had the most wonderful experience during our stay at the Notting Hill Homestay in Madikeri. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Their genuine care and attentiveness truly made a difference in our overall stay.

The staff took the time to listen to our needs and went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed, creating a home away from home.

The food served at the homestay was absolutely delicious. Every meal was a delightful culinary journey, with flavors that were both authentic and comforting. We looked forward to every meal, knowing that we would be treated to a memorable dining experience.

The house itself was a haven of comfort. The rooms were thoughtfully designed, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We appreciated the attention given to every detail, from the comfortable décor and mood lighting to the library in the common room. It was evident that the owners took great pride in creating a space that felt like a true retreat. Overall, our stay at the homestay was an exceptional experience.

The beautiful location, well-maintained gardens, well-planned fireplace, and the swing at the top of the hill lock in the garden, giving a view of the city, all contributed to a memorable and enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend this homestay to anyone seeking a truly special and personalized getaway.

In these times of Covid theres nothing better than homestays with complete privacy.
Our experience of this property was very unique. First of all the location is very good with a full view of the valley, also its walking distance from Raja Seat , which is mesmerizing in early morning and evenings, providing a serene view of the valley below. The rooms, washrooms ,dining and a mini library, with television set makes you feel complete at home, especially if you are travelling with a group gives you ample space to gather ,interact and spent quality time with your group.
I would like to give a special mention of food that was very delicious and the caretaker and cook Mr Shiva didnt have a word No in his dictionary, our all the demands were promptly complied by him. Our host and the owner of the property also regulary visited us on a daily basis and also gave us full guidance to explore the nearby tourist spots. To all the nature lovers who also like to trek and explore the magical land of Coorg on land , I would like to suggest our guide Mr Chinappa the contact information of whom can be taken from our Hosts. We went for trekking 10 kms approx and the experience we had will be in our memory for a lifetime. He gave us detailed information about the flora and fauna of the wilderness. The forest is very rich and also has many medicinal herbs.
To conclude the homestay is the best one can get for location, food and service.
Though it gives full value for money, I would like to mention 2 points where some improvement can be made ,for even better experience , is the rooms center and last one lacked ventilation, Though the 1st part of kitchen is very hygienic , the 2nd part where food is actually cooked could be made at par with the 1st part.
Special thanks once again to our Hosts Ms Netraji Mr Nitinji and Mr. Shiva our cook and Mr. Chinappa our trek guide.
A home away from Home ,highly recommended for families , book all 3 room or full property for complete privacy

We are a family of 4 and stayed at Notting hill for 3 nights. The cottage is very nicely furnished and done up, gives an extremely warm and cozy vibe especially on chilly nights. The cottage is very clean and the beds very comfortable. The location is great so if you want to step out and pick up food or something from the town, you’re not far at all. Shiva, the caretaker, is extremely sincere in his job and took great care of us. The food at Notting hill is extremely tasty - you can get a good selection of local cuisine, it’s home cooked and very very hygienic. There’s a fireplace which is lit in the evenings and this really makes such a relaxing evening. The garden is very peaceful ans shiva is very obliging to produce many cups of tea!! We loved our stay at Notting hill and would highly recommend it to everyone.

We went as a family of 5 adults and an infant.
Pros:
1.Beautiful,cozy rooms with attached
bath.They have 3 rooms altogether.
2.Shivu,the caretaker is a wonderful, ever smiling and obliging guy.He is a big plus point there.
3.They serve good, decent South Indian style breakfast consisting of 2 items which is good enough.Dont expect a buffet spread as in resorts because this is a homestay and the breakfast we felt was good and hygienic.
4.Lot of books, board games and TV are there. If you get time u can use them.
5.You can use the kitchen after informing them beforehand in case u need to cook for your little ones.

CONS:
We didnt find anything negative!!

Cheers to Team at Notting Hill homestay.

We had heard of Notting Hill Homestay from a friend, and were wanting to get away from Bangalore. Notting Hill was a hidden jewel!.Well located looking out over the city, easy to find. We were fortunate and had the whole home to ourselves. Comfortable rooms, plenty of hot water for shower as our time there was mostly low clouds, light rain and a watery sun. Just perfect for us, both seniors, sitting on the verandah with cups of hot tea! Soaking up the atmosphere. A good book, a glass of beer during the day or a glass of wine in the evening before dinner..absolute heaven!!
Hotting Hill provides breakfast, and one has to order dinner ( paid for separately) The choice is both Veg & non Veg, South Indian and Coorgie food. I dived in for the Corgi pork !! Well cooked and flavoursome. But a word of caution...the helpings are huge, very generous, so two folk can be well fed with just one order!.
I have much more to say but am restricted to 1500 characters!!

We were fortunate to have stumbled upon Notting Hill where we stayed for three nights. We were glad it was away from the hustle and bustle of Madikeri; the homestay is perched on top of a hill that provided a view of a not so pretty part of the town.
Notting Hill is a fairly well-appointed homestay with spaces that we enjoyed using whether it be the long veranda where we had our cuppas and read books or the living room where I was able to switch on the TV and keep track of events around the world, and complete work that I had brought along with me.
In these Covid times, I was glad that Notting Hill took certain precautions such as sanitising our baggage and feet etc. before we entered the property.
The meals, breakfast and dinner, were delicious and quite extensive. The staff was extremely flexible to cater to our individual preferences in respect of the spice content of the meals and when we consumed them.
One member of the staff, Ramesh, was the epitome of excellent service; he satisfied all our many needs and requests, always with a generous smile.
The hospitality we experienced was heart-warming; each day, we had the owner of the property or her family member visit us to determine how we were faring and how our stay was. They cared!
The property was renovated and upgraded recently, and it is kept clean and well maintained. There was hot water throughout the day and night which was a boon.
The rooms are suitable for couples; putting in a bed for a child, as we had requested, was quite a squeeze.

First of all, we really liked the location. It is tucked in a quiet neighborhood and away from hustle and bustle of the city.Place is well maintained, it was comfortable. Shivu was very helpful, he was very attentive and responsive to our needs. We enjoyed the hot breakfast and coffee in the mornings. Having hot water in the bathrooms anytime of the day was a huge plus especially during cold weather. We stayed during new year and they surprised us with a cake which was very nice and thoughtful.

There are few things that could have been better. The cost of dinner per head seemed too high. There were at times we wanted to try dinner but did not due to the pricing.

Overall, we had a great stay. Please note that it is not a luxury place but one can expect a comfort of a home.

Visited Notting Hill in last week of October' 20. It's a really nice place with great food.
We were 3 families with kids and everybody enjoyed the time spent there. The rooms (3 bedrooms) are quite comfortable with attached wash rooms. The living room is well set with some very good books (for all ages). The lawn and open area is quite big and one can spend an entire day there relaxing.
Special appreciation for our caretaker Shiva who is an expert cook (Dont miss out the coorgi chicken and sweet payasam). He is always available with a smile yet never seems to intrude your privacy.
The host Nitin & Netra were always in touch to make the stay comfortable and also accommodated our late request to change the dates.
Thanks to you all for making it a great stay. :)

I have stayed here for 3days during January 2021. The place is easy enough to find on google maps and located on top of a hilly residential area. The building contains 3 rooms for guests, a common dining room, a study room, a kitchen with a host cook, veranda, great gardens and ample parking.

I have to say the host cook Shiva is a delight. A complimentary breakfast is provided in the mornings, a paid dinner upon request. Food here is amazing. I would recommend anyone to try the dinner combinations.

Excellent place to stay and very pleasant break from the city life. Would recommend anyone easily and I am also planning to take my parents here soon this year.

It’s a beautiful house with an immaculate garden. The most striking feature of the house is a sprawling mango tree in the middle of the garden with a bench to sit and soak in the view of the Madikeri town.
With scrumptious home cooked food and spotless rooms we were not left wanting. Location is centrally located it’s perfect if you don’t mind a little walk.
