We were 7 friends who visited Raj Estate in the month of May for a short weekend trip. Raj Estate is a wonderful homestay if you are looking for a nice and comfortable place close to nature . There is beautiful water stream near the place to sit beside and pass time , host is cordial and helping . Only little problem is electricity but if the weather is good you don't feel that much of need too. A very nice place to stay and enjoy :)

We just stayed here for a night, but a very pleasant experience it was. The place itself is about 15-20kms ahead of madikere, just off the highway. Coz of the lush landscape, you won't hear or see any traffic tho. At 1850 a room a night, the amenities are basic and sufficient. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable enough. It being in the middle of the forest, expect a few bugs.
While the mention a stream on the property, it was still a pleasant surprise coz we didn't expect it to be right in front of the rooms. We spent an entire afternoon just fooling around in the stream. There's a large open space on front of the rooms where they'll set up a lil bonfire and chairs for u in the evening.
The staff are quite friendly and yet give u space. For about 100 per head, they cook up a good homely meal for u (bfast was on the house). Non veg I think was extra, we were charged for pork we wanted, but didn't mind a bit coz it was quite yum!
Would definitely recommend this place for a simple and economic get away.

My overall rating would hit 8.5.
We stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights.
Very nice, soft spoken, very helpful people.
Food that is served (breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner) is of good quality, tasty and neatly served. Stay is very decent and neatly maintained.
Bathrooms are clean.
Hot water for bath( Hande neeru).

We stayed at raj estate for two nights towards the end of may with family including my five year old daughter. Was a little worried since there was only one review I had seen on it but got tempted because of the stream. Thankfully I found it to be a very good home stay. There is a cook and two more people to attend to everything. THe food was good, rooms were neat. There is a stream right beside. They also have a hydro power system for when the current goes. No mosquitoes. The property is about 15mins from Madikeri town. We spent the whole of 21st on the estate walking up the hill, bathing in the stream where it is secluded upstream and walking up the town road uphill just beside the property. You should be prepared to have no cell range though you can get it if you walk up a bit on the road that runs uphill outside the property. They have four rooms. In case of multiple rooms being occupied you have to be clear in your instructions of the time you want to be served and be a bit pushy. Be careful about leeches if you go out for a walk early morning on the dew. Overall was a pleasant experience for those looking for a simple place with good food and rest.

We were here for a 3 day, 2 night stay with family and had booked the place through Air BnB.

The location is away from Madikeri town and hence away from the crowd and noise. This is a little cottage/house tucked away in a beautiful estate in the midst of nature and still on the main road and no mobile signal to disturb you. The estate is awesome - the cottage, stream flowing through it, quite with the night having only the sound of the stream and chirps of insects.

The rooms though small and a bit congested are real value for money and neat. While they do not have AC, you will be provided with table fans for each room and trust me thats good enough for the Coorg weather. The bathrooms were also super clean. But if you are someone looking for super luxury, this is not for you.

The other biggest thing I loved is the food, service and the staff. Raj Estate has the best three staff I have ever seen. The food was all cooked in front of us based on what we ordered and no extra charges to any of it. The staff were super helpful catering to all of our demands ranging from ginger tea at 11pm to akkuroti and pork at short notice. Loved the place. Will do it again.

The scenic place, well maintained clean rooms/ toilet, ample space for kids to play, the aroma of coffee beans, friendly staffs and yummy home made food makes Raj Estate stay one of the best places to go to for some real peace of mind and relaxation.

Staffs were very friendly and they really made my stay with two kids under 5 very pleasant and easy. The creek behind the mud house was the highlight of our stay! It's clean, shallow water and was a lovely experience playing in it.

There is a feeling of warmth and belonging that you get with the stay here...which is the reason this place has now become our favourite spot to stay at Coorg.

This place is really good. If you stay here you wud feel you are in middle of jungle , with coffee smell lingering around. With kids you wud enjoy a lot. A vast courtyard is there to play cricket football and racket sports. A small Brooke flowing inside the estate just enriches the surrounding atmosphere. Even we stayed there for two nights we felt we sud have stayed another day. Mr. Kumar takes care of the guest and his service is just impeccable. With his team the stay becomes more memorable. And the food is just too tasty with mangalorian touch. Yes it's bit costly and it's 10km away from Madikeri town. But other than that it's a real pleasure to spend time at this home stay.

We have reached Madikeri by evening and traveled for another 20mins to Raj estate stay. It was very chill climate and stay in between coffee estate is really a different experience. There were many small falls around and it is good trekking place. Food and ambiance is also good. The assistant over there in the estate stay was really resourceful. There is no much place to see around Madikeri but the stay will be pleasant.
