Java Hills Estate is a picturesque coffee plantation providing home stay in Coorg in the Western Ghats. The estate provides accommodation to overnight visitors who want to explore the beauty of Coorg, the coffee hills of India. The estate stay is a wonderful alternative to cramped quarters of a hotel room in an equally cramped neighborhood in town. Java Hills Estate is a working coffee plantation and not a hotel or a resort. Hence, our visitors receive personal attention while staying with us and have the opportunity to explore a real plantation. Many of our repeat visitors come here to simply kick back, relax with a book, watch the colorful birds, engage in nostalgic conversations, enjoy cool evenings with their favorite drink and savor home cooked meals. Our estate is well-known as a couples retreat and a favorite for honeymooners.

Myself along with family stayed in JAVA HILLS ESTATE, Kadagadalu Village, Madikeri in the month of May. This home stay is very nice, clean and beautiful too. Rooms are very good, bath room is very specious and very clean. Ambience, greenery also beautiful. We can enjoy good walking in the estate and village roads. This home stay is very near to Madikeri town and easy to locate. Food also excellent and care takers are also very polite and helpful. Anyone can visit this place at any season and enjoy the weather. I highly recommend this home stay for family, couple or group stay.

We are a belgian couple and stayed at Java Hills during our last trip to Karnataka in December. It was definitely one of our highlights. A lovely young man was attending to all our needs, without invading our privacy. The homemade food was excellent and there was abundant choice. We appreciated the fact that we could eat outside which is quite rare in India. The room was spacious with a lot of daylight and bed was really comfortable. It was lovely waking up in the midst of the coffee plantation and going for a walk before breakfast. The house and the rooms were spotless. Excellent price-quality!

I stayed at Java Hills with my mother, who is in her late 50s, for two nights during the Christmas/NY week. The booking process with Mr. Harsha was hassle-free, prompt, and clear in terms of expectations. The place itself is as advertised and in fact, even better. The estate is easy to find and is only 5km from Madikeri. Nestled in a large and scenic coffee estate, the home has a historic feel to it with elegant decor. The rooms are well furnished with modern amenities such as hot water, western restrooms, power generators, etc. Our room had a spacious balcony that offers beautiful views of the estate. Waking up to the sounds of the birds in the misty sun-kissed estate was just perfect. We could freely explore the estate by taking walks and having our morning coffee by the lawns. The on-site staff are quite caring and friendly while giving us plenty of privacy. They were communicative and ensured we had a comfortable time. The food served in dinner and breakfast was sumptuous, healthily made and yummy. The portions were generous and we had 3-course dinners. (PS: we are vegetarians) Java Hills was perfect for the mind and body. Excellent place to immerse in the nature and re-connect with family/friends without compromising on the comfort or amenities. Beautiful home and surroundings, plenty of privacy, and great food. Highly recommend this place. Great value for money.

This is one of my favorite places to stay whenever I visit Coorg. As usual, the ambiance and surrounding of the property are awesome in mid of the coffee estate. This is a homestay away from your home, food will be very much similar to your own home food, healthy and fresh. Also, the property is 6 km from Madikeri town with limited transportation available around and fewer staffs. Pack your all the daily needed stuff you require. Would surely stay here the next time and will recommend this anyone who is looking for a peaceful stay without doing much of activity.

A Lovely, Exclusive, Unique Home Stay. Our Families from Bangalore & Mysore visited this place for a weekend outing recently. This place is about 120kms from Mysore & 260kms from Bangalore via Kushalnagar. The Roads are Good & one can enjoy the drive. Around the place, we strolled through the Thick Coffee Plantation freely, saw and heard the chirping of birds & explored the little Pond down the estate. Sit and Relax in the open, sip a Hot cup of Good Coffee & let the early morning Sun, Soak into you. ( Weather Permitting ) The amenities, rooms and interiors are very good, with friendly staff to assist and serve us to our needs. It is all here. Enjoyed and brought back some Good Moments & Memories.

The bungalow is surrounded by huge coffee plantation which makes the stay quiet memorable. We had a room upstairs and had the complete downstairs(actually a common area) to ourselves which had a great setup of the drawing and dining rooms and the kitchen, just by luck because there were no other guests at that point of time. Mr Harsha who owns the place was in constant touch with us and the caretakers who took good care of us. The lady caretaker cooked excellent and homely food for us for breakfast and dinner.

Nice and well done bungalow with good view around, owner are nice people. Room are fine but not very clean furniture though. Location is perfect, surrounding area is good. Bungalow caretakers want you to have all the meals at the place itself so that they can make good money out of it and they except a good tip at the end too.

It is a nice bunglow situated away from the main road, surrounded by the coffee plantations, so very peaceful. Well done place but guess it is not that well maintained. The pillows and sheets had a musty smell that is disturbing. The house is dimly lit and that may be depressing. They have in house care takers who are eager to help you, they feed you well (you have to pay for the meals and tell in advance- fair enough). Go there only if you have your own vehicle because it is way away from the main city. Take your own bedsheets and towels n may be lamps if you don't like dim dark places.

Place is good but rules and rules.. 1. No Veg or Non Veg Food Starters and when asked Harsha states "We dont provide starters and we ask guests to bring their own food for starters" and this happens at night 9. Where do we go finding food at night in madekeri??? 2. Check out time not mentioned while booking 3. Veg and Non Veg no varieties. One Dhal and One Non Veg curry. Both taste same. 4. Money needs to be paid upfront within 1 hour of check-in. When you compare with other home stays this is total waste. Costly but no choice in food menu and if anything you ask he says "Extra charge". Only the place is good but not food.
