As the name says this is one of the most serene and tranquil places I have been to. Heading during monsoon to the hills has its own charm and when u wake up to verdant mountains and rains you know this is closest to bliss! Though Mr. Ponappa was not around he had a fantastic team led by Darshita and Chef Tom. They took great care of us and the dishes the chef brought in was top notch. The rooms are very clean hygienic and spacious. They open up to large balconies with beautiful views. As a family we enjoyed their game area where you can spend time playing indoor games, sipping aromatic coffee and gazing around. It’s location on Chethalli Road makes it very non commercial and thus tranquil. If you would like to go around the town it’s short drive. Great places with lovely memories to live and create. Highly recommended.

A perfect weekend getaway from hustle and bustle of Bangalore. We were there in Dec 2020 and management had taken adequate precautions that time. They have only very limited cottages which always gave us enough privacy and space to move around and moreover a feeling of safety without being in the crowd. Activities include kids playing area, guided estate walking tours, campfire and local sightseeing tours.Though limited in variety, every time food was freshly cooked and kind of gives you a homely feel. Also a big shout out to the entire team for a very warm and welcoming service.

Ambience is perfect, surrounded by lush green forests and coffee plantation....you start loving Coorg then and there. It is a beautiful property. Very peaceful with nice, clean brightly coloured cottage interiors tastefully done. For a family of 3 would especially recommend their highest cottage...we used to just love sitting in the balcony which provides lovely view and full privacy. The sounds of the birds that you wake up to is just so awesome. The host goes out of his way to ensure you have the perfect stay. The staff is young and friendly, and see to it that all your needs are met. Especially enjoyed the fare turned out by the very young chefs whose effort and dedication is commendable. Especially would recommend the Pandy curry, pork fry. The restaurant is a cosy place amidst trees with balcony sit out a lovely place to eat out. We were there during the new year and loved the bonfire organised and the never ending culinary treats. Definitely going back again.

With Covid all 2020 and being locked up the whole year working, the urge to get out on a vacation was growing by the day, and so was the fear of contracting the virus from the resorts' guests/staff. We were looking for a small hide-out catering to a very limited guest which would be deemed considerably safe, and I think I found the best one, even for a Covid-free world ! The place is situated in a coffee estate bordering the East-end reserve forest, a 10 min drive from Madikeri town. The access is a little problem with a single lane not-so-good road for about a km. We were 2 families with a couple of young kids and the facilities here were a natural choice to proceed with the booking. We opted for 2 cottages with a common wall, where the balconies of the 2 rooms can be opened up for one large balcony which was perfect for us. Add to it, the balcony comes with a view of the mountains; trust me, you wouldn't feel tired watching the mountains as the color shades of the ranges keep changing at different times of the day. Waking up for a misty morning in the woods is something I always dreamt of. The property has 5 separate cottages (only 2 cottages share a common-wall, rest all are separate buildings) with ample privacy, a dining and a recreational area with a mini-Trampoline, Carrom, Chess, Mini-TT, Foosball, Jenga, Uno, Board games, Tennikoit etc. The area also has a projector to screen movies, play music and enjoy some Karaoke. The property has a small stream which creates a small waterfall, singing birds keep you entertained all day long. Check-In is at 1pm and check-out at 11am, but are OK for the checkout delays if there are no bookings for the cottage on the day. * The rooms have an attached balcony * Very roomy, perfect ambiance * No AC, but the place is very cold and there is no need for one * Hot water geyser, takes about 10 mins for hot water * Very clean, should appreciate the house-keeping guys * Bathroom accessories (soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, clean towels) * Soft Bed and a warm quilt ensures a good sleep * TV with a few national channels subscribed. I seldom put on the TV, a couple of times for my kid, Nickelodeon Junior * 2 Bottles of drinking water on the day of arrival, coffee-Tea-sugar-milk whitener sachets * Mini-refrigerator and a Kettle * Local Breakfast Buffet-style at the Dining Area. The food (Breakfast-Lunch-Dinner-Starters) is good. The kitchen closes at 11pm though, ensure the starters are ordered by then. * Bonfire * Wi-fi The only con would be the limited parking area, but can be managed by parking near the main gate and walking up-hill to the rooms. Nischal Ponnappa, the owner of the property is a wonderful man; very polite and courteous, we had some very good conversation whenever he was around. I had some long calls with him before making a booking, he explained the layout so well that helped me draw the floor-plan on my mind. This helped me make a booking, and at the cottage I desired. The staff are chosen carefully by Nischal. Not one goes one rating below being Excellent. They are all equally courteous and cater to every demand of the guests. They all even bid a goodbye to us while leaving, felt like family. This place is full of Heart ! The kids had a wonderful time too, they never were inside the rooms till under late in the night; were either running around in the lawn or playing in the recreational area. Thanks Serene Woods for the wonderful stay ! P.S : Haven't posted any traveler photos of the property as the photos posted are very close to reality, don't see any editing involved.
