Meriyanda Resort is one the premium properties in Coorg, it is located in a dence green area with springs and falls around the property.
We traveled to this property 2 days back with family and friends and we have blocked the entire property which would be 9 cottages for 20 people accommodation.
Firstly I would start with the Pros of this Place. The best part was the wooden cottage which is nicely located for the best view.
Next is the Ambiance, which is one of the best part of the property, as they have kept it simple and neat. The food and service is at its best. They had served delicious food and the staff service was excellent. Hats off to Aachayya and Umesh and team. Resort staffs are very humble and helpful. I never heard no from them. The property doesn't have a pool but it has a river flow near by where they would arrange for lunch or dinner.
When it comes to Cons.
The property doesn't have any activities, and there is no stores, if any emergency, then Madikeri is the next nearby place.
The cost of the accomodation is also on a bit higher side compared to any other properties.
But over all a nice place to hang out and relax with friends.
Note : There is no mobile network or wifi available.
U can get Airtel or BSNL in few places (If Lucky)

Finally we broke free from the shackles of city life and drove to Coorg to breathe.. This was a hidden gem and we got a good deal too.. we travelled on 20th Nov for two days as a family of 4 and a child.. Hospitality started even before the journey began.. They asked for our food preferences and it would be Chef's choice . Mr. Achapaa helped us reach the resort and welcomed heartily. The road from the security to the reception is a bit stiff.. though it was cakewalk for our civic..

After reaching the resort, all the tiredness just vanished.. with birds chirping and the view to the hills, the plantation, the fragrance.. just amazing..

We got a queens villa and a cottage..we had our parents and daughter with us..They enjoyed thoroughly..

Food was awesome too.. Many thanks to chef Prakash and his team for fulfilling all our r
requests preparing delicacies to pamper our tastebuds and taking care of our smallest needs throughout.. it was really needed to energize ourselves with the virus and negativity all around..

Would love to go back and stay here again..

We booked this resort for 2 days 25/26th Dec and really enjoyed the resort, food and ambience.

The rooms were very neat and clean and the staff was very courteous. Special Credits to Cheff RamaKrishnan who made delicious food at every meal.
The Veg stew and Appam is must try. We as famil generally dont eat sugar so we were specially treated with deserts made of Honey and Jaggery at every meal.

Must Try place!

To stay at an authentic coorgi villa made entirely of wood and glass, let the clean air blow through and just kick back with a book to the sound of birds. One of those places you just want to stay in and make the most of the rooms.
Stayed at the Kings villa that is beautifully curated with traditional pieces (the traditional wooden recliners in the main balcony, the main doorbell and the frog soap dish are my personal favorites). The 4-poster beds, the spacious balconies, hardstone floored-baths with pebbles and a complete view of the cliff are only just a few things worth mentioning.
The staff are only accommodating and go out of their way to serve you. While its off the oft-taken route, the lodge is more than happy to offer a place for your driver alongwith all meals. All at no extra charge!!
Lovely experience. Just go and stay in!!!

Had a bad experience. We read the review and chose this place hoping for a good hospitality. We were stopped at the entrance and manager of the property mentioned that there is no voucher created for the stay. We were not even allowed to be seated inside even though it was rainy and we had a baby.
We requested manager that we can make the payment on the spot as there was no voucher created from the centralised system. There was no internet facility too in the property and no coverage for any network except BSNL. Manager -Achappa, just asked us to drive back till we find network, contact Bangalore office for voucher, sort out and then visit. Is this place known for such a kind of hospitality?
Looking at our plight, security was kind enough to lend his mobile to help us call and get the things sorted out. After facing such a bad attitude of manager towards guests, we decided not stay in this place as we were not confident on the hospitality during our stay and chose another resort.
Pay few thousands more and choose Ayatana or Ibnii, where hospitality is top notch and property is mind blowing.
PS : This review is just to alert the walk in tourists. You might be treated worser than beggar. So don't shortlist this place for walk-in stay. There are too many other options near by.

Response from Meriyanda Nature Lodge Coorg, Sales at Meriyanda Nature Retreat and Spa Coorg
Responded 25 Jul 2021
This reviewer never booked nor stayed at our resort. He is an intruder and wanted to gain entry without making any reservations. Thus review is a humbug Mr Roshan, You did not have a prior confirmation nor had any form of communication with our reservation team. You are referring to your friend who is a travel agent called Recluse Holidays. Meriyanda resort has a hotel policy not to allow anyone without prior confirmed reservation to protect the security and privacy of our reserved guest. We have full right to admission and refusal to entry in our resort to trespassers The policy is designed not to inconvenience the guest but to differentiate between an intruder and a genuine guest. What kind of a holiday you take off with a 5 month old without prior reservations. You denied paying at our resort or made any prior payment. You made your one-day holiday miserable for your five month old baby without reservation voucher. You kept referring to a third person who will pay on your behalf but your friend did not pay us nor has your friend received your payment till date. Your friend/recluse holidays are aware of our policies but he did not pay us even then, that only shows your integrity with him. You should be questioning him rather than slandering us. Therefore we are blacklisting Recluse holidays for their unprofessional behavior To talk about Achappa, who came to assist you from reception to the security gate which is 300 meters away. You started to have a conversation with him and you claimed that you knew him personally to gain an entry to the resort and when he denied knowing you, you became offensive. He tried to help you out as much as possible in a professional manner. He has track record for guest delight and service. You are one of those who use reviews to falsify establishments and to defend your deceitful act. You are using this review to defame for no fault of us. Regards Bhakti- Director of Sales & Marketing Meriyanda Nature Lodge- Coorg

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Meriyanda.

The property is located about a 30min drive from Madekeri and is set inside a coffee plantation. Google maps will get you there without any problem. The cottages are really good and offer a 180 degree view of nature.

But the best part about the place is the staff. They are cheerful and helpful. From front desk to housekeeping to the kitchen. It was an absolute delight.

The property has steep climb at places so if you are travelling with older people you might want to book the cottage nearest to the reception.

And last, but not the least, the food is great! It's tailor made as per your preference and they keep serving you until you can't eat any more!

Where do I start, starting from the hospitality since we arrived at the resort, stay, amazing food and until the last minute was phenomenal and definitely memorable. I cannot say enough about the vegetarian food Chef Prakash and his team made us during our stay at Meriyanda resort. We stayed for 3 nights and every meal was a different cuisine. Cottages hidden under the big trees, keeps the place cool even under the harsh sun. Come out of the room to the balcony, and you are welcomed by cool breeze, birds singing and the planatation view.

Special callout to, Acchappa, chef Prakash and Anil. And ofcourse, all others who i may have missed calling out has their work behind the scenes to make every gues experience wonderful and memorable.

Kudos to the team ✌️

Very nice place, good location, Wonderful staff, Complemented with a great cook.
It is a massive estate & estate walk itself was an adventure to look forward to.
The tiny water stream in 200 mts across the road is a hidden treasure.
The cottages, & the large estate are really wonderful for someone who wish to have a get away, we really liked the no internet & network concept.
We were a family of 6 people, from 10 yr olds to 70 years old, all of us have enjoyed the stay very well.
Unfortunately the surrounding places were all closed as we went there right at the onset of 2nd wave of COVID, but the places around are so beautiful.
Being a vegetarian with Jain meal option, they have taken a great deal of care in getting every meal is a great treat.

This was our first trip after the lockdown, and this was just pure heaven for us. It is set in verdant nature, which was a much needed break. Loved the cottages and the hospitality. The food was sumptuous and as per our taste and we enjoyed the service, room, and environment. This is now our favorite resort in Coorg and sure we will be back again in the future.

We stayed at King’s Villa. A beautiful experience with scenic views of valley from patio. Chirping birds outside the window were a welcome wake up call in the mornings.
The five star rating goes to excellent customer service. The crew - manager, chef and staff were accommodative to our requests and never said no. The food was delicious in all cuisines - local Coorg style, North Indian and South Indian.
Apart from the fact that the rooms were on top of the hill I don’t have any regrets of booking and staying in this wonderful property.

Hello Shekarh queens villa will be fine for your family; with extra bed as per requirement. Usually Lunch/Dinner included in the plan as they are little inside n at offbeat place. If you are booking through some agent or in package...do cross check! You can request them to organize Picnic by riverside; it costs extra but is wonderful experience. They serve food at riverside! Also; beware of leeches during plantation walk! Regards H F Saify

Hi Vijeet... Overall road condition is good, hope nothing much would have changed during course of rains. After Hattihole, road narrows down & last 3-4 km are a bit of rough patch + the steep incline at resort itself. Enjoy your vacation !

Hi Ms Deepika, The public roads towards Meriyanda were mildly potholed due to the last year's monsoon but have been repaired by the local authorities this summer and does not have any problems now. You must have read reviews previous to that. We are a nature retreat and have many activities within the resort. Please do call us at 9008163388 for any further assistance. We look forward to hosting you at Meriyanda. warm Regards Meriyanda - Coorg, Team
