Nestled in a tranquil setting, the Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa garners accolades for its serene and luxurious atmosphere, with guests consistently impressed by the tastefully designed spaces and lush surroundings. While the hotel offers a range of appreciated amenities and the service is generally lauded for its attentiveness, some guests have experienced service delays.
The rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and modern comforts, yet a few visitors mention encounters with insects. Although the remote location promises a peaceful retreat, it may limit access to local attractions, and some diners find the food options costly.

Coorg Marriott is nestled amidst lush greenery, surrounded by coffee plantations and fresh, crisp air. During our visit, the weather was rainy with light drizzles, enhancing the cozy atmosphere. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, from Asian to Western cuisine, along with premium liquor and à la carte choices. They even arranged a birthday cake upon request at midnight. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed.

We visited Coorg Marriott during the 29th to the 2 nd oct , and had a fabulous experience . To begin with we were welcomed warmly and all the staff were courteous and helpful always cheerful and smiling. The villas where we stayed were cozy and comfortable and user friendly. Right from the beautiful ambience, and view, they were equipped with every minor amenity one could require. Also the walk in wardrobes and the massive huge baths were a delight being comfortably luxurious. The pillows were comfortable unlike most 5 stars. Also the couches were comfortable where you could just sink in without actually sinking in. All the furniture was back spine friendly and the decor was a class apart Moreover navigating around the property was also very easy as the direction boards were set up at every nook and corner. Despite the rains we could easily walk down the paths as they were well kempt and umbrellas were available at every station. Be it from the dining area or the pool side or from your room. The buggy service was also available but we didn’t use it too often. The food and service was outstanding. Also the biggest usp was that there was absolutely no dead line on breakfast timings. The bar tenders made us awesome cocktails and the chefs some tasty delicacies. Even though the week end at the Marriott saw a full house, it was organised and managed very well. Kudos to the management and staff.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
My stay at the Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa was a truly memorable experience, with some of the best facilities I’ve encountered in a hotel in India. That said, there were a few aspects that could use improvement to make it perfect.
The Highlights: The hotel itself is fabulous—clean, beautifully maintained, and tastefully decorated. The rooms were spacious, but it was the bathrooms that truly stood out—they were by far the best I’ve ever experienced at any hotel in India, combining luxury and functionality seamlessly.
The gym deserves a special mention for its excellent equipment, ample space, and welcoming atmosphere. The spa was equally impressive, offering top-notch services that were both relaxing and rejuvenating.
The location is both a blessing and a curse. Set in a peaceful, stunningly beautiful area, the resort is perfect for those seeking tranquillity and a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. However, for travellers who want to explore or sightsee, the isolation can be frustrating as the property is far from most attractions.
The Not-So-Good: During my stay, it rained, and the buggies used to transport guests around the property were often damp or wet, which made for an uncomfortable experience. This could easily be resolved with better protection from the rain or quicker drying measures.
The entrance to the hotel was also underwhelming. When we first arrived, there was no one readily available to direct us to reception, and signage was lacking. This created some initial confusion, which is not ideal for a property of this calibre.
Final Thoughts: The Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa excels in delivering luxury, comfort, and serenity. Its stunning facilities and peaceful location make it a haven for relaxation, though the distance from attractions and minor service gaps at the entrance could detract from the experience for some. With a few adjustments, it could be flawless. Perfect for a serene getaway—less ideal for explorers.

The worst check-in experience that I have faced after staying in 500 odd hotels during my lifetime up to now. We were kept waiting for 2 hours before we were handed our room key. The excuse being " Sir, you have been upgraded, therefore it took some time."The lady did not know that the upgrade was already done at the moment when I made the reservation. The Bonvoy app showed it there and then only. The reservation manager did not bother to even meet and apologize for the same.
However, the room was spacious, warm and nice. It was a large two bedroom villa with outdoor Jacuzzi. Bathroom amenities were adequate and good lightning was present. We had our nightmare at night when we could hear constant insect noises(later on we got to know there were crickets in the room and in abundance). The 1st night went thinking that its just in our thought. 2nd night we realized that there were actually some basic safety issues with the family villa no.04 as we could see the insects, reptiles, etc. in the room. After much hassle and concern they did change our room but the holiday mood had vanished and we cut our trip short. The next villa allotted to us was much much better with only presence of some mosquitoes.
The property is nice and well spread. It's nature's delight and really a heaven for bird watchers. The food and drinks are awesome. Chef Tiwari and Chef Ranjith were very nice, warm and always prepared some amazing dishes for us. The service staff, Mr. Karthik ,Ms. Neha and Mr Avinash were very good at what they did. Mr. Satpal and Mr Glen are the best people I have come across behind any BAR. They served some of the best cocktails that I have had. Ms. Gana and Mr Vinod are 2 fine people at the activity center. Activity center is nice and kid friendly. Some activity is missing like bowling alley which can be added for better usp.
The environment is serene and lots of space is available for calm get together. Swimming pool is nice and large. It is a must stay resort with nice food and surroundings. Do not stay in room 2 bed family villa no.04 i.e. the fourth one from the climb towards the Presidential Suite.

Dear Mr. Kunal, We truly appreciate your patronage and the time you have taken to pen down your experiences at our beautiful resort - my team and I feel sincerely and truly gratified with your appreciation about the many positive aspects of our resort while also highlighting our area of attention for development and improvement. These unpleasant memories are definitely deterrents to your being loyal to our resort and Brand and our endeavor is to use your feedback to point us in the right directions. We are proud of the hospitality that we consistently deliver and feel terribly apologetic for not living up to your expectations. As a frequent traveler - we acknowledge the time you have taken to write this comprehensive review about our beautiful resort. What touches each and every associates heart is the fairness with which you have addressed your wonderful experiences and our areas of improvements. We take solace in the fact that we did strike a few positive impressions, though constructive criticism when taken in the right context would point us in the right direction. Again, we truly respect the detailed information that you have given us and these pointers will help the leaders for this particular department to decipher the root causes and implement processes to make changes for the better thus arresting similar issues in the future. We cannot thank you enough for being a patron to the Marriott Brand and our beautiful resort and we will strive to bridge the gap in our service deliveries through rigorous training on being proactive. We would love to see you return to Coorg and gives us another opportunity. Regards, Randal Whelpdale General Manager

1. Very beautifully designed rooms, loved the light coloured interiors, minimalistic design. Rooms, bathrooms were squeaky clean. The bathroom was really big. The internal part of the resort is full of manicured lawns and pavements while the surrounding is a lush green forest. It was a beautiful mix of modern yet wild. 2. Food at Madikere Kitchen was good, we didn't try Grills by the valley. Views from both restaurants are surreal. We look at the same forest from both but both are sooo different! Being vegetarians, we found that the menu is mostly non veg but Chef Brijesh Tiwari was very warm and kind to customise different vegetarian spreads off the menu for us and another vegetarian family who were at the resort at the same time. They were also very happy to accommodate reasonable customisation requests for food/water, etc. Really made our holiday! 3. Nature walk was good, both the naturists Yesudas and Lithin were very knowledgeable and the good part was they were complimenting each other with trivia, it was fun! Spa was ok. We played a few games at the game zone, although it was meant for kids, the staff was kind enough to humour us with a few bike riding games :) 4. Call the resort for directions to reach, it's a bit confusing on maps.

We were looking for pet friendly resorts within 5 to 6 hours of drive time and we came across Coorg Marriott from a Youtuber and immediately made our reservations and was one of the best decisions.
The property is located in a very beautiful, serene location. We can hear the peacocks in the morning and variety of different birds.
It was a very seamless process from reservation to check in and check out. We got a call on the previous day providing details on drive and route to take. Durga and the team were very friendly and ensured that we had a very pleasant stay. The breakfast and lunch spread were huge while we could NOT find any shortcoming the stand outs were for different types of egg-based dishes, pan cakes, waffles and French toast. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and also Chef who was always around to help. Our dinner was always in-room dining and again they ensured that food was at the right temperature by the time it reached the room. Unfortunately, we could not get experience SPA during this visit.
Big shout out Durga and the team across the floor were very friendly and courteous.
We had gone there with a pet, and he absolutely loved the stay. My pet is a very fussy eater, but he did not throw many tantrums and enjoyed the food that we got there and off course the green landscape.
If you are looking for a pet friendly place and perfectly set up resort this should be in your bucket list.

Excellent property for a family vacation. Barely an year old since it opened. Various room options are available. Family estate villa has two bedrooms, one living room and a balcony pool that is heated. Visited in April and during peak summer the daytime activities were best planned indoors in the kids play area, cafe, lobby, rooms and spa. But the evenings are very pleasant with a constant cool breeze.
Food is delicious but be prepared for a bit of delay in getting the dishes. Kids play area has ball pit and various other toddler options in the ground floor and arcade games, foosball, air hockey, PS5s in the first floor (have to purchase tokens to play the games in first floor). A clean play area is located nearby.
Evenings there is high tea/coffee with snacks and tambola activities (free for all resident guests) and later there is a story telling event around bonfire (the chair around bonfire lean forward due to incline of the land, wish it was a bit more comfortable). Mornings there is a nature walk activity in the neighbouring coffee estate.
Drive from Bangalore will take around 5 hours and can be a bit tiring if you drive under the hot sun. So try to leave early morning and reach the resort early. You can request for early check in prior to arriving and the team will definitely do their best to accommodate your request. Else if the rooms are getting ready you can laze around in the lobby, gazebo sit out near the pool. If you have any special occasions or requests, you can certainly communicate it and Mr. Rakshit at front desk and their team will try and make the visit memorable.
You get excellent deals for stay with bonvoy points if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member.
All in all, an excellent vacation spot.

The property is very new right now and is situated amongst lush forests and coffee plantations. It’s very peaceful and quaint. We had a lovely stay at the 2 bedroom villa which also had a small plunge pool. Room was well-furnished and spacious. Since the property is new, there were some maintenance related issues which the staff was more than willing to help address. The service was great. Soorya at the main restaurant went out of his way to make us comfortable. Mahesh conducted a coffee tasting experience for us and was very passionate about the subject. Lithin, the naturalist was extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting facts about the local flora and fauna during our plantation walk. Karan from in-room dining spoilt us with complimentary desserts every evening and Chef Raja whipped up creative fusion food for us to taste every morning.
Overall a lovely experience at this hotel. Thank you to the entire team 😊🙏🏼

Dear Ms. Prerna, You have captured the beauty of Coorg so vividly through the keen eye of a photographer - thank you for making Coorg look beautiful and also representing our resort vibrantly. There are many who have already appreciated your notations and we the Coorg Marriott Team thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being our loyalist. Our Family Estate Villas are located in an area that has a very green forest canopy. Below that canopy are these villas and among these villas we have a coffee plantation. As you are at a slight elevation your plunge pool is almost among the trees thus bringing nature upfront and close - exactly like you explained 'very peaceful and quaint'. You did make the absolute right choice when selecting this Villa. Gods gift to us is this beautiful rainforest - our gift to you is our personalized service. Chef Raja, Karan, Soorya, Lithin, Mahesha, the House Keeping and Engineering Teams thank you for appreciating the service delivery and giving us the opportunity to feel rewarded for our diligence. Lithin is indeed very passionate naturalist and thoroughly enjoys every moment spent in the proximity of Mother Earth. He once explained that he to is learning everyday when out there seeing, touching and breathing in the petrichor aroma. We thank you for being an advocate to our Hospitality and hope this experience nudges you to soon make another plan to visit our beautiful resort. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.
