Lovely place and awesome people. Owner of property is very loving lady. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. They love to serve the guests and go extra mile to make the stay pleasant and comfortable. The brook/river near the estate is cherry on the cake. We stayed there for 2 nights and it was a very homely feeling. Last but not the least food was superb and delicious. We helplessly overate 😋😁.

We chose Silver Brook Estate based on the reviews. The pictures also looked quite good. But sometimes photographs especially from social media do not correctly depict the real picture. We booked 2 rooms for 3 days, for a family holiday. We arrived at the estate, but it was more like a guest house run by staff, as the hosts were out of station. The house is charming with a photogenic verandah, but the rooms were damp and dirty, the bathrooms were rarely cleaned and towels and the bathroom mat was wet and damp from before we entered the room. There was mould and fungus on the window blinds and even in the cupboards. Since the place is so far from Madikeri and there weren't any options for food close by (nothing within walking distance), we chose to eat dinner at the estate. Meals were very overpriced at Rs.750 per person, per meal. Meals consisted of a dal, 1 chutney, 1 dry vegetable, paneer or gatte ki subzi and chicken/fish upon request. The quality and presentation of the food is comparable to a very ordinary rice-plate kind of place which are very cheap, but perhaps better in taste and presentation. The overall service was messy and the tables weren't cleaned from the earlier meals, the napkins/serviettes were just plain paper! For this price, I would expect better quality at any establishment! We requested our towels and bath mat to be changed twice, but it was left as it was even when we came back after our outing for the day. Finally, we had to carry the towels outside to tell the staff to change them, as they were wet for two days! They eventually complied. We also switched on the fans hoping to dry the room floor, but there was so much dust accumulated on the fans that started flying everywhere, so we switched them off immediately. There was one TV in one of the rooms we had booked and we turned it on in the evening since we had a child with us there was there was nothing to watch as the Tata Play account was not charged. The rooms are also pretty close to one another and without any soundproofing, so it can sometimes get very noisy and loud in the main house, which is the main dining and sitting area. We stayed in the two rooms in the main house, so of course whenever other guests made any noise or were loud early in the morning in the main house, we heard it all. The best thing about the place is that it is nestled in a lush, green environment with plenty of trees. It has a lovely verandah with a swing, (as visible in all the pictures!) which photographs really well. But is it value for money? No. Is it well maintained? NO. Is it warm and welcoming? No, our hosts weren't there. Was it run well in their absence? No. While, I don't expect a homestay to be a hotel, I do expect it to be clean, dry and well maintained, as at the end of the day, it is a commercial establishment.

We are a nature loving couple who frequent Chickmaglur and Coorg regions and after scouring many places, my husband selected this one for us. We had a relatively peaceful day 1 but day 2 was marred by the arrival of a noisy gaggle of ladies who conversed so loudly that we could not enjoy the quiet of the nature even one bit. Here is what we thought overall of the experience Pros -Nestled in a beautiful location -Estate had a good decor, had semi heritage feel -Hot water available all times in the bathroom -Tissues made from recycled paper -Reasonably good food -Heard bird calls on the first day early morning -Stock of a variety of books to read Cons -Hygiene and cleanliness wasn't top notch like the stirring spoons had a greasy feel, ginger tea smelled of onions (which was replaced), bathroom had a mat which had wet mud on it. -Room was located near the common area so all the loud conversations made by the other guests inevitably disturbed us. -Bare min local cuisine. We ourselves being from Karnataka wanted more of the local fare, but it was limited to just 1 item (we had dinner/breakfast only) cooks were from the north, so the taste of North was dominant than the South -Stay felt impersonal since we had no connect with anyone who was the local resident,so couldn't experience the local feel, language, food, tradition in any form (expected since the place is advertised as homestay not hotel) -Housekeeping was done in our room without our permission or intimation when we were away. Also we couldn't lock the room since there weren't any locks/keys provided. Although nothing went missing or got lost, an intimation about housekeeping was expected. -Due to the cackle of insensitive guests, we missed the opportunity to listen to bird calls esp the Malabar whistling thrush we had heard on our first day. May be some notices or messages should be given to the visitors to respect the sanctity of nature by keeping volume of the conversations toned down. Overall, we think that what had the possibility of being a memorable experience was lost due to these few crucial pieces. Perhaps the presence of the owners would have helped in making our stay better.

We were two families on holiday and booked Silver Brook based on the reviews here. We couldn't have made a better decision. The accommodation is just beautiful. The premises are clean and well maintained. We had taken our dog along after confirming that it is pet friendly. She absolutely loved the place with lots of new things to investigate. There is a small brook flowing nearby. It's the calmness that you notice first then you hear the birdsongs, the chirping of the insects, and sometimes a few notes of classical music will waft your way. How serene! Kudos to Revathi and Yogesh for sharing this gem with travellers like us. What we loved the most was the hospitality. Yogesh was the one who interacted with us during reservations. He was clear about what to expect and why it was so, While Yogesh was the one we spoke to while making reservations Revathi took over completely once we reached there. She took us on a trek, sang along with us at Karaoke, indulged the children, interacted with the grandmothers well, and most of all left in us a wonderful memory of our Coorg holiday. The staff is extremely helpful and well mannered as well and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Silver Brook is a beautiful cottage with few rooms and personalized care given by the owner and workers. Very close to the city, has few trekking paths and also a small brook flowing next to the property. Residing within lush coffee plantations, it was a comfortable stay with good home cooked food. Do ask the owner for recommendations re eateries and shopping places nearby and you might just strike a gem! Each room that we booked could easily sleep 3 people each (a permanent single bed placed along with master bed. What added to the experience was the local / restored doors / beds and other things used in the property. Delight factor was the big swing and ludo / snakes and ladders built into the porch area where we really enjoyed spending our time! :)

I stayed with my wife and parents at Silver Brook homestay for 2 nights in the 3rd week of March 2022. It was certainly one of our most memorable homestay experience, especially relished by my parents. The chettinad style home is hidden inside coffee plantations with a stream flowing just a few steps away which makes a perfect setting. We occupied the 2 rooms in the main premises that opened up to the verandah/small garden on the front side while another door opened towards the dining/living area decorated with art pieces, family pictures against the striking chettinad tiles and high ceilings. Staying in these two rooms is perfect for large families or groups while the separate cottages (one under construction) appeared to be perfect for couples who may prefer greater privacy. We found ourselves lazing and chatting in the verandah (with the swing) sipping the amazing coffee from the estate and checking out the beautiful mini garden that reflects the owner's artistic vision. Both our mornings started with strolling in the surrounding coffee plantations/forests and the supremely serene brook with innumerable birds chirping all around. Now coming to what truly made our stay like no other. The talented owner, Ms. Revathi makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in. She speaks multiple languages, sings beautifully and connects with you like a long time friend hosting you. Her kitchen staff serves delicious meals with smiles. The highlight were the home made jalebis that we relished thoroughly :) I thank Revathi ma'am and the entire staff for their warmth and hospitality! Overall, I highly recommend this place for a boutique home-away-from home kinda stay!

We were here over the new year, and had booked the entire property. I was traveling with my parents, my husband and 12 year old son. The place has one main house, with two rooms and access to a dining and living area. It also had a lovely veranda with a traditional swing and a few seats. There was another smaller two room unit, a few meters away. The property had a lovely garden in front, with a good range of flowers. Two dogs visited the property often, who kept my son busy. I was very impressed with the Covid protocol that the staff and owners followed. They wore masks at all times. Also when we reached our luggage was sanitized. While breakfast was included, the other meals were on request. We absolutely loved the food here and had most of our meals here. Infact I think the food was a big highlight for us. Everyday we would have a variety of food with a lot of local delicacies. The kadambuttu with onion curry, fried fish and pork pandikeri were clearly the highlights.. On New years Eve they arranged for a bonfire and also gave us some lovely home made snacks like fresh raw banana chips and pepper chicken. I would like to make a special mention about Revathi, the owner who managed the hospitality and food behind the scenes to ensure that we had an amazing stay. She also suggested some good trails to explore the area and enjoy the view. Overall we had a nice and relaxing stay at this property.

We,a group of ten senior citizens traveled to Coorg for a holiday, and our expectations were met. Revathi Ayer’s Silver brook home stay is a wonderful place ,tucked inside a coffee plantation. Revathi,an astute person herself ,with her eyes and ears open to every little needs of the guests. We specifically enjoyed the Karaoke evening!! But we have to mention a few points for the betterment of her place. Firstly, the bathroom needs improvement,it was very bare except a thin and small piece of soap, devoid of any other toiletries. The toilet bowl was small, low and very uncomfortable. The rooms can do with better lighting. Lastly, though we enjoyed her home cooked food ,we felt that each meal price was a bit on the higher side. All’s well that ends well !!We all came back feeling happy and rejuvenated!

We booked Silver Brook homestay after reading reviews about it and were not disappointed. The location itself was serene and peaceful. Yogesh and Revathy were perfect hosts and welcomed us with lots of warmth and love. The room was neat, comfortable with hot water provision. The property itself was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The surrounding was lush green and the morning walks through winding roads was most refreshing. Food served was tasty and sumptuous. Thanks to Revathy and Yogesh for making our stay most comfortable and relaxing.

We stayed at Silver Brook Home Estate for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Revathi is a wonderful host, and the ambience and design of the place is just heart warming. The whole estate isdesigned in a very eco friendly manner which just adds to the positives. The decor is old world and tasteful - makes you wish that you could design your own home in a similar manner They serve food at request. Breakfast was included for us, and we ended up having 3 out of the other 4 meals there as well. There is a good variety of north and south Indian food - and it is served piping hot depending on a time convenient to you. In case you have any preferences, they can customize the food accordingly. Tea/coffee is also available early morning till late night. Revathi is a wonderful host and she makes sure that you enjoy your time there. Revathi guided us on where to go sightseeing etc. We wanted to go to a particular restaurant for lunch but were not able to get reservations due to the COVID situation, but Revathi was able to get us there too. There is a lovely trek outside the property to a temple. The estate itself is lush green - with fruit trees. You are encouraged to pluck your own fruits and the staff can cut and serve them to you. All in all it is a wonderful experience. Must recommend. We had made our booking through Makemytrip. However, there was some issue and the owners did not get our reservation. We got lucky because we called the property in advance to enquire about covid protocols, and they were able to keep a room for us. So we do recommend giving them a call if you are booking through a third party provider.
