It was a good experience staying in Hallery estate.People were docile, hospitality was good. It will be abit scary if you are occupying after sunset. But nothing to worry, you will enjoy the calm climate and estate the next morning as we did. We , me and my husband along with my parents visited coorg and stayed in Hallery estate for 1 day. We had no clue on this estate and were afraid at the first look of entrance, it took us some time to get adjusted. Estate staff served us good dinner and we started felling comfortable. Smell of the rooms is a problem, we may have to carry some absorbants. Overall it is worth the money. I would recommend this stay.

My parents, brother, his kids and I had gone last weekend for a 2-day trip to Coorg. I was recommended to stay at Roxell Inn by one of my colleagues and it turned out to be a wonderful place and worth the money. The place is beautiful with calm and serene surroundings. The hospitality shown towards us was commendable. One of my nephew fell sick due to travelling and RoxellInn helped us to get him to a doctor quickly and ensured that immediate treatment was given. It was of great help to us as we had no idea where to go. We did have a great and memorable trip.

We(Me, Wife & Kid) happened to stay at Roxel Inn for our Christmas Vacation, 2012. This was one of the most memorable holidays we had(PN: We are regular holiday makers both Domestic and International). At the first look it was abit scary while entering , specialy duing nights. As the entrance resembles any of the thriller Hollywood movies. But then comes the real flavour of hospitality and warmth. The lonely atmosphere, no mobile signals made us to have a complete getaway from the rest of the world. Awesome food made to your choice by the most friendly and courteous staffs at Roxel Inn. Inhouse vegetables were used in food gives us a fresheness. The flavour of coffee and pepper around the bungalow and throughout the 300 acres estate gives you a fresh early walk around. You get to enjoy a campfire and possibiity to barbeque your own catch of fish from the inhouse lake. U need to understand one thing during your stay that this is not a five star hotel but it worth the money spent for a typical holiday maker(not for the ones who complains and spoils his holidays). Would recommend this place for a corporate gathering or for a family specially for honeymoon couple. Will definitely stay more lonnger next time

I visited Roxel Inn at Hallery Estate with my partner. Ours was a last moment plan to visit Coorg & didn't do proper research. When we reached this place, everything seemed good in the dark. Once we entered the single room, we were welcomed by a foul smell. It seemed as if someone had opened the door after several years. The maintenance too was not good. The bed was made up of 2 parts. Food was not great. Spending the night was even terrible. We heard strange sounds. The place seemed haunted. They could not even arrange a taxi for us to visit Coorg & we had to do this on our own. When we woke up in the morning, we could see ant-like creatures on the bed! All this for Rs. 2500!! They didnot deserve even Rs. 500! We decided not to come back to this place again & left the place in one night itself, though we planned to stay for 2 nights.

We were 8 of us, my family and my in-laws family and we booked this homestay through an agent (a trusted guy) in coorg. Please be warned that its not a true homestay, but a hotel/inn. There is a 3-bedroom coorg style house that is newly built (that makes it to be called a homestay), apart from the traditional rooms that are built in a hotel. If you imagined a homestay as a house that is in the same estate/building as of the owner, who would provided you with his hospitality, then this is not the place. This place is run like a hotel, with staff to take care of the kitchen, room service, etc. The location is great, its within a 200 odd acre coffee estate and the views are good. Its about 8 km from Madikeri and well connected. The quality of food is poor. The kitchen being highly understaffed, cannot cater to the needs of the guest. We had to wait for over an hour for dinner. We had been asked to come over at 9PM but were served only at around 10. The items were less and the quantity also less. The same case with breakfast. There were idlis that were just inedible and then we had to ask him to make pooris and then had to wait again. There was no tea/coffee with breakfast. The rates were too high (1000INR per person with dinner and breakfast)

we (me, my wife and kid) had to stay 2 nights at Madikeri and it was Christmas season. Wanted to take the accomodations at a homestay for 2 nights- instead of a resort/ hotel, so we opted for this homestay. Its set in a huge estate -Hallery of over 200 acres! We were tentative on how the place would be as all we had seen was on the site and speaking to the Roxell Inn folks. it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. for around 1.5k a night it was truly a good place to stay- clean accomodation, great service and particularly excellent Food. the staff were pretty helpful in arranging whatever was requested- additional pillows for our son, Milk, choice of breakfast, vegetarian food etc. Food was homely and well prepared. Definitely recommended for a quite homestay in Madikeri. Watch out for the distance- its a good 8 km from Madikeri town, that will cost you 120 Rs to get there. Commute can be tough unless you talk to the folks and book a cab (resort helps you with that)., Driving in is the best option if you have your own vehicle. On the flip side- dont get fooled by recreation facilities as there is none at all as i could see.
