It was our first experience at a homestay and must say, it was one of the most memorable one. To start with, right from the time we landed at the airport, we had aunty proactively reaching out to us, guiding us on the route, recommending places to eat on way etc which was very comforting in a new place. Upon reaching, we were welcomed by this amazingly warm couple who immediately became our uncle and aunty :). Over the next two days that we stayed at Ashraya, we felt absolutely at home, well looked after. Rooms were clean with fresh linen well equipped with hot water. Despite the hot afternoon, room was cool and pleasant sans any mosquitoes. We could sleep with windows wide open and fresh air. While my husband enjoys any form of meat, I am a strict vegetarian amd was initially

A visit to ashraya homestay in Cheyandane, is a must for people who have never experienced a homestay like ourselves. MOur hosts being older, were more mature and knowledgeable but most of all gracious and kind. Aunty with help from Leela, makes the most delicious food. Pandi curry, aki roti, caramel custard, nendrakai halwa were just a few of the wonderful dishes served. The homestay is really clean and pretty, and the home brewed coffee a must try. we were especially grateful that care was taken to cater to the very different needs of our group of four, ranging in age from 13 years to 69 years!!! Our hosts went out of their way to direct us on places to shop and sightsee, and they were so kind to our driver who is pure veg , supplying him meals at no extra charge, when he was

This was our first experience of a homestay. We are glad to say that it surpassed our expectations. The hosts are gracious , knowledgeable, mature and generous. Special care was taken to provide for the varying requirements of our group of 4. My mum aged 69 was well looked after, as was my son aged 13 and also ourselves. We requested for coorgi cuisine as well as a separate menu for our son as he is picky with food, and the food was delicious, with generous portions, and the menu was varied, and diverse. The rooms are large and the toilet spic and span. The drive to the estate is scenic and we never tired of it. Our hosts were so kind to our driver as well. We felt so welcome and will only opt to stay at ashraya homestay should we visit coorg again. Having travelled to many

a) The home is beautiful; a dream home for most city slickers. b) The hosts are wonderful. Locals who can explain so many things about Coorg culture, about coffee, about various things that grow on the estate, about bees / making honey, etc. c) The place & the experience is close to nature; quiet & peaceful / tranquil. Yes, it is quite a distance from Madikeri; but for those who have come for the peace & quiet, it is great. We wanted just that - a chillax experience with no hustle-bustle. d) The home / rooms are extremely clean & neat. No insects inside the home (quite a few outside at a safe distance) even though this is in the middle of nature. e) Food was simple local recipes (home-cooking style - not the typical hotel stuff); good variety over the 3 days that we stayed

This was our first experience of a homestay & it was indeed a very nice one...The bungalow is beautifully done & is surrounded by various plantations..Away from the city in the midst of nature..An ideal place to relax & unwind...the entire house is beautifully done..The homestay rooms were quite big & very neat...The bathrooms too were very well kept..The food was excellent!!!!Authentic Home made Coorg cuisine... The hosts were very helpful & friendly..The visit to the age old ancestral house, coffee plantations & the waterfalls with uncle & aunt was a lovely experience...It's a perfect place to relax & we will definately go there again..All in all a beautiful & a memorable experience...
