This was my first home stay experience, and I'm not even sure if I would have opted for a home stay if we weren't too late to plan the journey and hotels were not available at the last moment. The first view of the house is beautiful. A cottage nested in the midst of a coffee plantation, with flowers surrounding, birds chirping; almost straight out of a pretty picture. The interiors are even more tastefully decorated, and the hosts are the most wonderful people you would ever meet. However, above all, the high point is the personalized care and the mouthwatering home cooked food from Swathi aunty's kitchen. The hosts had arranged the entire transportation for us for the entire trip, starting from pickup in Mysore, suggested us tourist spots, helped us to buy Coorg coffee and

There is nothing more memorable than getting up in the morning, sipping a cup of coorg coffee listening to birds chirping on a bright sunny (still extremely pleasant and non-polluted) morning at the lawn of a Bungalow in the midst of coffee plantation. That’s what Ashraya Home Stay in Coorg is all about...Swathy Aunty and Lal Uncle would make you a part of their family during your stay. Mouthwatering home cooked food, beautiful ambiance, mesmerizing scenic beauty and over and above all, the most humble, warm and caring hosts (Swathy Aunty/Lal Uncle). Lal Uncle personally took us to his coffee plantation visit, a close by waterfall and even had long chat sessions with us on Coffee, Cardamom and Coorg Culture. Swathy aunty on the other hand was busy ensuring we get the hot and

It was indeed a beautiful weeks stay at Asharya. The setting of the home was idyllic in the middle of the coffee plantation. The first thing that impressed us was the nice & catchy setting of the house. And, then we were bowled over by the hospitality and care with which Swathy aunty and Aiyappa uncle took care of us. From the mouth watering kodagu specials that were cooked for us to helping us to plan our visits to nearby locations, we were pampered. The rooms were neat and clean and well maintained. Last but not the least, we won't forget the coffee that was served. On the whole a very comfortable & memorable one and thanks to Swathy aunty & Aiyappa uncle for making it so.

Me and my wife had amazing weekend at Ashraya Homestay at Cheyandane. Swathi Aunty and Lal uncle treated us with great hospitatlity. The homestay is clean and beautiful. Swathi aunty made Coorg special food for us (Chicken and Pa-puttu). Lal uncle took us to waterfall, he organized a camp fire and showed us his coffee estate. They suggested us places to visit and to eat on way. I must say that there was perfect blend of professional service with personal touch. Definitely a place to visit again..... Thanks a lot Swathi aunty and Lal uncle.

On a short notice, I was assured a place to stay for the weekend at Ashraya Homestay. Since the moment I called Swati ( Owner) till I reached the homestay, I was taken well care of. She made sure to arrange a taxi for me, as I was a solo traveller. The place is BEAUTIFUL. No second thoughts. The cool breeze, the warmth of the people will let you fall in love easily. A grand tour around their estate by her husband - Mr. Lal. Showed us the avocados, mangoes & cardamon & turmeric leaves & some papayas. Needless to stay.. that estate taught me a thing or two about fruit/vegetables & some bee farming as well. Both of them have been lovely to talk to. Giving me info & insights on coorg, the culture & food. Highly recommended place for anybody & everybody who love nature. As I was

It was our first experience at a homestay and must say, it was one of the most memorable one. To start with, right from the time we landed at the airport, we had aunty proactively reaching out to us, guiding us on the route, recommending places to eat on way etc which was very comforting in a new place. Upon reaching, we were welcomed by this amazingly warm couple who immediately became our uncle and aunty :). Over the next two days that we stayed at Ashraya, we felt absolutely at home, well looked after. Rooms were clean with fresh linen well equipped with hot water. Despite the hot afternoon, room was cool and pleasant sans any mosquitoes. We could sleep with windows wide open and fresh air. While my husband enjoys any form of meat, I am a strict vegetarian amd was initially

A visit to ashraya homestay in Cheyandane, is a must for people who have never experienced a homestay like ourselves. MOur hosts being older, were more mature and knowledgeable but most of all gracious and kind. Aunty with help from Leela, makes the most delicious food. Pandi curry, aki roti, caramel custard, nendrakai halwa were just a few of the wonderful dishes served. The homestay is really clean and pretty, and the home brewed coffee a must try. we were especially grateful that care was taken to cater to the very different needs of our group of four, ranging in age from 13 years to 69 years!!! Our hosts went out of their way to direct us on places to shop and sightsee, and they were so kind to our driver who is pure veg , supplying him meals at no extra charge, when he was

This was our first experience of a homestay. We are glad to say that it surpassed our expectations. The hosts are gracious , knowledgeable, mature and generous. Special care was taken to provide for the varying requirements of our group of 4. My mum aged 69 was well looked after, as was my son aged 13 and also ourselves. We requested for coorgi cuisine as well as a separate menu for our son as he is picky with food, and the food was delicious, with generous portions, and the menu was varied, and diverse. The rooms are large and the toilet spic and span. The drive to the estate is scenic and we never tired of it. Our hosts were so kind to our driver as well. We felt so welcome and will only opt to stay at ashraya homestay should we visit coorg again. Having travelled to many

a) The home is beautiful; a dream home for most city slickers. b) The hosts are wonderful. Locals who can explain so many things about Coorg culture, about coffee, about various things that grow on the estate, about bees / making honey, etc. c) The place & the experience is close to nature; quiet & peaceful / tranquil. Yes, it is quite a distance from Madikeri; but for those who have come for the peace & quiet, it is great. We wanted just that - a chillax experience with no hustle-bustle. d) The home / rooms are extremely clean & neat. No insects inside the home (quite a few outside at a safe distance) even though this is in the middle of nature. e) Food was simple local recipes (home-cooking style - not the typical hotel stuff); good variety over the 3 days that we stayed
