This home stay is located in a good location and all the sight seeing locations at Madikeri is very close by. Rooms are clean, well maintained and equipped with all the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is provided but the quality needs improvement.

This is my second time at Thelma's and was as enjoyable and comfortable as always. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped with basic facilities. The attached verandah, overlooking scenic verdure made the mornings a perfect time for sipping coffee. This place is suitable for families and couple who love a home like experience. The property is well placed in a peaceful residential area and is 1-2 kms from the town center. The best part is Thelma, who does not treat you like a guest, but treats you like family. Truly a gem of a person and I consider myself fortunate to have met Thelma, fantastic host and fabulous cook!! I highly recommend Thelma's Studios for your stay at Madikeri.

All the tripadvisor contributors always hold the owners of this home stay in a very high esteem & why wont they? Mr.& Mrs. Kariappa do everything to ensure you carry wonderful memories of your stay in this beautiful hill station. The breakfast is very yummy & the quantity they provide is much more than you can digest. The room is decent sized, spic n span... 2 big & comfy beds with a water purifier & all amenities that can make your stay comfortable. From the auto stand about 200m away, the fare charged is a mere Rs.30/- to take you to the Bus stand / shopping area. There is a take away menu card & the restaurant delivers food free to this house for a minimum order of Rs.300/- which is not bad. Yes the only flip side is that there is nothing to see around when you open the windows & you wont feel you are in the lap of nature when you stay here. But if you just want to spend a few nights in a place close to everything & with a tasty breakfast served by a lovely family - then look no far. Just book this place & let the Kariappa family weave their magic.…

The good: 1. Interiors are spacious, clean and well designed - especially with 2 beds and a kitchenette containing cutlery, a water filter and microwave, it's great for families. 2. Breakfast is home-made and tasty, though it's more like a tiffin service (quantity is fixed, may not be sufficient for hearty eaters). 3. It's close to Madikeri town (which is convenient especially if you have a vehicle), which has some of the better eating places. The bad: It's not exactly a home stay, the owners stay around 0.5 km away, and the only time guests get to meet a family member is when one of them delivers breakfast. The ugly: It's in the middle of a slightly congested residential area, with the view of construction work all around, as soon as one steps out of the apartment - not exactly the place you want to be in on a holiday at a hill station. …

This property is situated right in the Lap of nature and its surroundings are bliss ! The people out here are calm , helpful and really gentle ! The owners (Karriappa and thelma) are wonderful people too , albeit got to meet them only for a day ! How could you forget the beautiful home made breakfast uncle Vitthala used to bring in everyday that made you feel at home . The interiors are beautifully done and i'd recommend without a doubt to come and feel the vast prairies and beautiful landscapes all while living in this beautiful abode ! Gratitude :)

We happened to stay at Thelma Studios between 24th and 25th of March 2017, This is a new property and has been tastefully furnished. The Homestay is in a residential locality which makes it a fantastic place for Family to stay. Calm and nice locality gives the guests an opportunity to relax peacefully. The location is not very far from city center, if you have your own vehicle you can comfortable move around. Even if you do not have your own vehicle you can depend on Auto rickshaws but they charge slightly higher price. The homestay Owner Mrs. Thelma and her Spouse are such a nice couple available to the guest at the time of their need. To give you an example, the front door of the place allotted to us had bulged due to weather hence could not lock the door from Inside, when informed to Thelma, both the Husband and wife agreed to come by around 9:00 PM and check as we had to visit Raja Seat and preferred to have dinner outside. The owners were at the place as agreed, they found that only a carpenter could set the door right, they called their carpenter and got the door readied immediately. I requested to give me the details of Jeep owners / drivers who can take us to Mandalpatti the next day, they gave me one, unfortunately the jeep was booked for my date, when informed about this Thelma immediately searched her contacts and made sure we had our Jeep booked for our trip to Mandalpatti. I recommend this place to all families / Husband & Wife who visit to Madikeri.…

They call it home stay provided you are ready to carry your own snacks/cooking material etc as once there you do not get any service. The bungalow has two well furnished and well maintained rooms including a small kitchenet. Each room is having two double bed sufficient for 4 persons per room. This is in a residential area and you love it if you are ready to be away from crowd and noise. You must have your own vehicle to commute from this place. The care taker visits occasionally and once there, you will have to manage on your own. The complimentary breakfast is too simple and basic, which they bring from some nearby restaurant.

This was our first time staying at a homestay, and we were absolutely blown away with the accommodation. The facilities provided for the price were incredible. Rooms are very well maintained and tastefully furnished. All amenities you would get in a regular hotel location. Location is a plus point as well as its near raja seat. The owners Mrs Thelma and Mr Kariappa are very nice folks and took good care of us and very professional. Highly recommended
