We, a group of six persons with three couples, travelled to Mahindra, Madikeri, Coorg from Mysore. While coming to Madikeri watched the beautiful golden temple/Tibetan monastery. Reached the Mahindra Madikeri, Coorg around 6.30 pm. Staff at resort was busy with their day to day work, and after perusing them, check-in took about an half hour. Enjoyed the tasty jaggery coffee, they served as welcome drink, while waiting for check-in process to complete. Another half hour, it took our luggage to reach the allotted rooms. The resort is located within the lush green forest, very well maintained. It is a big resort with about 220 rooms and four dining halls. The adventure sport, swimming pool is other attractions. Every day they have some entertainment programme for the guests.
We were provided accommodation in second block named “Uchuva”, need to walk only 300 meters from the reception. It appeared that other blocks were at much higher heights and distance. Though the luggage was being dropped by a Van, however could not find any EV-Carts for plying between rooms and reception/resort gates/parking looking to the height and distance of rooms from reception/gate.
Area between the reception and rooms was lush green because of lots of plants, trees etc. We had one studio room and another a BR with accommodation for four person. Rooms were very neat and clean with amenities like kitchenette microwave oven , utensils, bowls, plates glasses, cups etc. A tap for drinking water was very handy. BR is very spacious along with a balcony and dining area, well furnished with dining table, centre table and chairs. Single Washroom was big enough, however atleast an additional washbasin would be useful with four persons.
We had taken a package for meals for three days, with the help of Sadiya. Food in the resort is quite expensive, specially the two dinners that Sadiya recommended us, the Gala Dinner with music and dance was tasteless not worth its value, and the Barbeque dinner was just OK. We enjoyed their normal Dinner and lunch. Sufficient choice is available in all the three meals, breakfast lunch and dinner, for vegetarians and non Vegetarians. Only the fruits were in very limited quantity, just two in each meal that too of not very good quality, The staff in the dining room was very polite and helping. Room service was too good.
Over all the three day stay at Mahindra Madikeri, Coorg was satisfying.
Suggestions. : One washbasin with mirror in the common area is must. The light on the mirror facing the guest can be arranged. Umbrella in each room may be issued. Washing and Drying machine for clothes can be kept in each block of 12 rooms payment basis. The charging points should be on both side of the bed.

The food is ok ok. They add a lot of Soda to rise so be careful. Roti section is good as they make hot rotis and give. At an event we got late and dinner ending time is 11pm. Every hotel I have been to informed we are removing dinner and to take anything required quick as buffet is closing. My colleagues were eating and silently they removed the buffet. Even on request they said food is over and I had just seen a buffet vessel full of biryani couple of minutes back. I guess they save it for next day 😊
You have to drag your bags out as mini bus cannot come inside the property. They don’t have courtesy to assists guests.
One more thing to note - They don’t have temperature controlled pools.

The activity job took me back to my childhood, recaptured through a game or two of Scrabble and Chess. The nature walk with knowledgeable young Lohitashwa was as enlightening as it was enjoyable. The cooking class with Chef Jason was a treat. As was the Coffee with the Chef event where Chef Atun gave us a briefing on the challenges that managing the many kitchens and their staff in this huge property
entailed, with the focus being on hygiene and health as much as on the impressive choice of dishes. Kudos to all the chefs who took such special care of me and my companion Atam, in particular Chefs Atun and Shrikant and Akash. If at all I were to nitpick, I would only wish the Italian dishes were of the same standard as the Indian fare. But that's a very minor peeve.
Kudos also to Sujata, Vishaka and Haripriya, for anticipating our every need, even remembering to have a cake ready to celebrate Atam's 75th birthday! We were really touched by this really heartwarming gesture.

The family entertainment program was also very attractive and involved everybody.
The overall experience was very homely and highly appreciative.
Would love to visit again. Can recommend to others.
Great experience. Fond remembrance.
Sonal and Divyang Parikh.
The Swastha Spa is also very good , clean and has very good therapists. Warranted a repeat visit. All in all a very good stay.
Positive points
1 - The Ambience is amazing. If you like to spend some me time, read a book, meditate and get lost from the busy world, then this resort is the place. It has a forest like environment with abundance of space to walk around and mingle with nature at its best.
2 - The Rooms especially the Studios are very spacious. Loved the concept of the automatic lights in the bathroom.
3 - The Barbeque nights are good. Its a copy of Barbeque nation with live grills and drinks, but its good food.
4 - The Activities are one of the best things of this resort offering a wide range of them, including multiple adventure rope activities, which will keep all types of kids busy.
Negative points
1 - This resort is not meant for the elderly, especially elders/senior citizens who have issues with moving around. First of all, the washroom at the reception is one floor down which you need to go by stairs! This is extremely difficult for elderly people to use the washroom especially when they have come from far away places to check in. This goes the case for high tea snacks also. I saw at least 2 other elderly people struggling to walk up the stairs, apart from my own in-laws.
2 - There is only 1 buggy and 3-4 mini vans. Mini vans aren't suitable for all elderly people, thats why my in-laws had to wait for 30 min to get a buggy to go from once place to another.
3 - The booking person got a room which was 500 metres away from the reception and restaurant. This meant we had to walk, especially my in-laws, 500 m one way to get food or to go to the activity area.
4 - When you check in, there are designated people who will come to you for food options/packages. They will try to sell the barbeque nights to you. Remember that the barbeque nights are going to be extremely costly, around 2500/person, while the normal buffet is around 1400/person. This wasn't explained in detail to us.
5 - Food was average - This is my 10th Club Mahindra visit and I am very disappointed to see that the quality of food has come down drastically. The options are there, but the quality has come down. Breakfast still remains my favourite although its the same option for the last 10 years without any difference. The dinner buffet was not worth it.
6 - Usually I am met with courteous staff, but the staff at the restaurant was not, especially the ones who were at the live counter. No Smile at all, and the way they were interacting with us was as if they were doing some favour by making food for us.
7 - I tried to talk to the Manager, but he comes in the morning too late around 9:30, so we missed him at the check out. So I vented out my feedback to Darshan ( i think thats his name) who I figured out he might have just dusted these under the carpet. Otherwise, as a member i expected a call from someone from the resort.
I dont think I will be visiting this resort anymore. Maybe next stop will be Virajpet. Lets see how they do!
