We visited Cool Cache during our trip to Tala Kaveri, Elephant Safari and other Coorg attractions. Stayed in Cool Cache for 2 nights. What an amazing food ... Sitting in the middle of Coffee estate with Rain Pouring in, there comes the mouth watering Tatta Idli, Dosa and Coffee. So so delicious and I can remember after a long time. Then in the night the Chicken Curry with Roti and Rice (moon light dinner). Place is very clean and tidy. Owners are so welcoming the guests.

This was our second visit to Mr. Venus Cool Cache home stay (see my raving review from 2009) and unfortunately this will be our last. Sadly our experience this time was very negative, sad because this place has potential but the owners uninterested attitude has ruined the experience. First the positives: The place is beautiful, the served food is quite good and the price is reasonable. Now the negatives: - While at Cool Cache Mr. Appana Venu never bothered to even talk with us. - Communication with his wife is hard as she isn't very English conversant limited to basics such as dinner and breakfast menu. - Toilet flush was broken, leaking water. - Room was very badly lit, single dim bulb for the room. - No soaps or towels provided. - Cracks on walls and ceiling. Moisture/mold on ceiling. - Geyser outlet is quite far from cold water outlet so the bucket has to be moved around to fill water at optimal temperature. - Requested vegetarian dish not provided, only non-veg. - Barely perceptible Wi-Fi that was turned off randomly. - Owner and wife left in the morning without a word leaving a worker to serve breakfast and receive payment. - No farm tours or anything of the sort. - Owner ran off in the evening to play badminton without bothering to interact with guests Back in 2009 the owners provided a very personal experience which was why we returned. We found a ill maintained facility with a complacent ownership.

I still prefer cool cache in Coorg rather than any other luxury / semi luxury resorts. You will feel comfortable, relaxed and served with mouth watering malnad delicacies. Even after years, I am still in touch with the owners and he remembers our pleasant time.. You will definitely feel home.

We chanced upon this resort last March. The place is beautiful in its own way. It is within a coffee plantation. The family lives on the property and they did everything to make us feel at home. The food is awesome. The rooms are spacious and clean. Would absolutely recommend anyone looking for a quiet place to stay here for a day or two.

Wow... what to say!? My stay in Cool cache for 2 days was mesmerizing experience. The location, rooms, facilities, owner and staff... everything is is excellent. The best time to visit is Monsoon till early summer. If you have your own vehicle, you may reach this place easily (approx 15 kms from Madikeri) or can hire a taxi (which the owner can arrange excl. of tariff for you). The best thing is you are away from the hustle and bustle of the Madikeri city and can experience the real beauty of hills surrounded by the real jungle. The rooms are well-maintained, aptly equipped, owner is very polite and helpful, food is scrumptious (mostly south indian) and this place will make you fall in love with it. Close your eyes and opt for this homestay if you are willing to relax and enjoy the real feel of nature.

I spent 2 nights and 2 days with my family. Room is clean and spacious. Hot water full day. Children have lot of place to play outdoors. We went for walks in the fields and plantations. Asked the owner to call an auto to take us to the market one day. There is a TV with cable connection. Evenings the voltage fluctuates and electricity goes off. This cannot be helped as most of these places are quite remote. Food was excellent. The owner Mrs. Neelam was very friendly, she even offered to show me how neer dosa was prepared. There are a variety of plants and trees here.

This place happened was our home for 3 days during the long weekend in May'15. Travelled with family & friends with our Kids. Our Journey started with a traffic Jam which made us take the longer route to Coorg Via Channaraya Patna the road was good but a longer one. Well i had authored a long story with lot of complaints about the hospitality where they didnt even care about kids requirements. well with all of them we had a nice time with good food (Limited no 2nd servings ;-) at the end of the day everything can be ignored. Good strategic place all tourist locations are just 12 - 33km away and place is well situated if a market and petrol bunk near by. If you are a person expecting hospitality this is not the place otherwise go ahead.

We went there during the last week of May. The place is well tucked inside a coffee estate. When you travel from Madikeri to Virajpet, you can find the board easily. We never had a booking, but then when we called them up, they had a vacancy and they helped us reach the place. It is a little far from madikeri, but definitely has a lot of picnic spots pretty close by and the drive to this place is scenic in Virajpet-Madikeri road. Awesome home cooked food during dinner and breakfast. We have never in our life had tasted such a great malnad style food before. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Planning to go back once monsoon hits :)

I had wanted to know about coorg culture and taste its cuisine and i am so glad that i chose cool cache. Geeta's chicken curry and neer dosas are still lingering on my taste buds. More enjoyable if the group is bigger. The coffee estate , the food and the hospitality made my trip memorable.

We went there in August with 2 families and the total experience is awsome. We had the best home cooked food (Authentic Coorg Style) with our choices. The cottage is in the middle of coffee estate. The experience of eating a warm Thatta Idli with Sambar and chatni by sitting in the varandha while it is raining ..... A nice treat. The rooms are clean and has hot water for bathing. We got a tour of the estate and also took some coffee samples. The Coffee tastes very very good. We were there for TWO nights, and we wished to stay there for more days. The hosts are very nice and takes care of guests very well.
