Thank you for your kindness n hospitality. You made our trip that special. Everything was perfect, specially the food. One thing which I would suggest to increase the feel good factor being, cleaning of room on a daily basis. Rest, everything remains unchanged.
From other reviews I can see that people actually enjoyed this place. Experience was not so good for my family of 4. Maybe lot depends on requirements. Biggest disadvantage for us was Location. It is located around 13kms from main city, worst part was road was very narrow and under construction with no street lights. No mobile network. Rooms were smelling damp due to grass roof. We were unable to open windows for ventilation as there was no net over windows and mosquitoes and flies came in as was in jungle. Good part was tasty food, courteous staff.
Red house home stay is located amidst the coffee plantation in a beautiful valley.Cottages are perfect for large families and can accommodate close to ten adults. Food served at the property is tasty and can be customised. To summarise, it is one of the best place to stay to feel nature.
We reached the homestay in the evening at around 5 pm and were delighted to see the location and the pristine forests surrounding it. It had rustic interiors and was very clean. It was a spacious cottage which can easily accommodate around 8 people. The food was the highlight of this place. We opted for non veg meal and fell in love with the food. It was generous in quantity and the best tasting home cooked food. We trekked a beautiful mountain guided by Khushi, our host's family member. It was a surreal experience soaking in the surrounding views as climbing up the mountain. The next day we were guided by Khushi to a hidden waterfall which had only us and 2 pet dogs(they always kept us company :). The waterfall was shallow and the water clean and we all had a great time. We also visited some well known tourist attractions during our stay there but the mountain climbing and the hidden waterfall will stay in our memories forever. No network is in my view is an added advantage of the place. It goes with the overall theme of the home stay. Relax and unwind. Would love to go there again.…
The staff is full of hospitality. View is very good. Bonfire available. There is are two cottages and a farmhouse which has three rooms and a common hall. Hot water is available. There are 2 friendly pets as well. It is 13 kms away from Madikeri - in the extreme interiors. No network at all. Landline is available to make calls. Google maps will lead you to a point and then it loses network. You need to further follow the road to reach the homestay. You need to head back by 6 pm to the place since it gets dark. This would be a drawback to stay in the interiors. The roads are bad though. It is an apt place for one night stay where you can cut off from the network and regular hustle bustle.
