An ace getaway place of choice if you like being surrounded by acres of coffee plants, a wide variety of birds singing and prancing around. Very close to bangalore, so the journey was completed in under 6 hours including all the stops for breakfast, lunch and the nisargadhama island visit on the way. The journey was decent but needed extra effort of attention to the roads at a few places. The place was amazing, it was a secluded home stay amid a huge coffee estate with an amazing view and surroundings. Stayed in the Suite room which was actually quite cozy and homely. There’s a magnificent view from the balcony of far away chilly cloudy mountains and closeby exalted trees, birds and coffee plants. Morning walks of exploration and simple treks down hill are a must if you reside here. The food was delicious, most of the items were cooked in traditional coorg style and we received quite a lot of attention from Anthony and his wife who made all our meals, snacks and coffee a palatable experience. Humble plus friendly staff and service, quite a warm company they provide. We also got a chance to dine with the owner of the place/homestay/estate, who is also a very humble and heeding person.Fabulous experience overall, food was very good, hot water was available 24/7, service was very good and the place was Astounding.…
Royal Woods is situated amidst a coffee plantation in the midst of nature. The air is crisp, saturated with the songs of birds in the morning. Anthony and his family made sure all our requirements and necessities were met, and even exceeded our expectations. They have maintained a warm, very homely atmosphere. The food is fantastic. Simple yet extremely delicious.
Very beautiful place to stay in Madikeri. Let me start with a compliment to the owner who very homely and welcoming. The property is a little interior and the road approaching the property is unprepared and rugged. But this could probably be the only negative point. Once you arrive at the property you are generally greeted by the care taker cum cook. The rooms are spacious and wonderful. The best part is the food. Homely delicious hot cooked food is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cook is so good that I visited the property twice to taste his food. Hot water is available at all times in the property. I would strongly advice families with small babies to come here as the food is very homely and they serve milk whenever the baby cries... There plantation around the place where you stay with pepper and chilli growing right within the property. Watch out for low telephone signals but that's the case with all properties in Madikeri. All in all a wonderful stay especially of you are with family.…
