We only stayed for one night but we had a great stay in a fabulous location. The owners are a delight and the social wine gathering before going out for dinner was lovely. Breakfast was excellent and nice that it is served to the room so we were able to enjoy it outside our room. Would definitely stay again

Len and Maree are perfect hosts and entertain guests each evening to drinks in the billiard room: very civilised! We stayed in one of the self-contained units in the garden and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast on the terrace. Beds are very comfortable and the only concern we had was the size of the bathroom . Other than that we had...

Len & Maree have a glass of wine with all visitors each evening. A brilliant idea from perfect hosts that breaks the ice and allows instant swapping of stories and experiences. We had a garden room with all amenities. Breakfast is served in your room or outside it (weather permitting) at a time you want. Cheltenham House is 2 minutes...

We had to change our route to the Marlborough Sounds behause of the recent earthquake. So we stayed in Hanmer Springs instead in Kaikoura. Therefore, after 9 years we returned to Cheltenham House and were again not disappointed. The service is still attentive and welcoming: They serve a glass of wine as aperitif and some nice chats with the owners...

We were lucky enough to spend our Christmas at this wonderful establishment. Maree and Len are such lovely people and made us feel so welcome. They were very informative and knowledgeable about Hanmer Springs and any small request was always met with a smile and was no trouble at all. The cottage we stayed in was clean, comfortable and the...

Cheltenham House and Len and Maree are absolutely wonderful, what a great two nights we had. Clean, comfortable and a first class breakfast, what more do you need? Wait there is more: The wine evenings. Len and Maree serve wine each evening to all their guests and it was so nice to meet other people over a drink. Thank you....

My parents and I stayed at this property for one night. The standout is the lovely, warm and humorous host Maree, she's an absolute gem. The room was spacious yet very cosy. The beds were divine, with lots of crisp white sheets, an electric blanket and nice big pillows. The breakfast was served elegantly and nothing was too much trouble....

Great hosts! :) Clean, comfortable, quite rooms and a tasty cooked breakfast, made to order and served in our room. A glass of wine by the fire place with the hosts and other guests in the evening, was a lovely part of the experience. Thank you for having us!

Len and Marlee are wonderful hosts. Their quaint lodge is well maintained, and their gardens positively reflect on two decades of careful and competent work. Wine and conversation in the evening, lovely to-order breakfast in the room in the morning, and anything else you might want along the way. This was a great getaway for my wife and I. And...

Thank you for your kind words. Len and I so enjoyed your company and conversation. Your venture to New Zealand is so inspiring, to us, and our young guests from Canada. We loved the rendition of "Her Majesty's letter to the USA". We would like a copy if you are happy to share. Have a wonderful time exploring our beautiful...
