Just a one night stay with a friend to celebrate our 40th birthdays. Two queen/king? beds which were very comfortable. Plenty of extra pillows, towels and blankets not that we needed them. Clean room, nice toiletries in ensuite. Shower over bath was a little challenging as we are both tall! Room was much too warm at night even with window...

My husband and I stayed for one night in this hotel but would not recommend it or stay again. The room was stuffy with no air con or ceiling fan unfortunately. There was a poor excuse for a blower free standing type fan that was completely useless. I was just grateful it wasn't overly hot. Staff not overly friendly either.

Good hotel for the price we paid. Heater in room but not thermostat controlled so difficult to get proper temperature. Many restaurants are within walking distance. . Thermal pools also a short walk and recommended. A family could easily spend many hours there as includes swimming pools, slides, several hot massaging pools, several mineral pools.

Stayed just 1 night in a cottage- but was lovely- very large 3 bedrooms, laundry, well equipped kitchen ad fantastic position and views - wish we were there for a week!! Great hotel with tennis court and pool - (but too cold to swim sadly)- my only negative is the kids lost a tennis ball playing (high winds not surprised)...

Following a late booking we stayed in a ground floor room at the Heritage for one night. The room was equipped for disabled persons but was large, perfectly functional and pleasant for us. Nice room, good service, lovely spacious grounds. The hotel is in the central township so is just a short walk to the famous springs.

Stayed one night on the way to Picton. Hotel doesn't have much character, appears stark and has no atmosphere. The big let down (literally) was the bed which was way too soft and felt like it had no support. The hotel boasts that the mattresses were specially selected. Regrettably they selected badly. Both my partner and I woke up with...

This hotel was a late change to our itinerary due to the Kaikoura earthquake so I can forgive them the fairly spartan room that we were allocated. This was also understandable as the hotel was hosting a wedding. We actually used none of the hotel facilities so I cannot comment though the grounds and pool area looked delightful. The hotel...

We were billeted in a cabin in the grounds, which was OK but a bit tired - antique fridge thermostat whined off and on throughout the night. The bed was comfortable enough (two mattresses pushed together) but so it should have been at $219 a night, breakfast not included. There was no welcome from the reception staff - just a...

From a lost age with a historic atmosphere, clean and efficient service The staff are friendly and the food at the restaurant is above the average for New Zealand. It's also reasonably priced compared to what we've had to endure

Hubby and I had a garden room. Massive bed and the most comfiest of the beds we'd slept on while travelling around the South Island. Hotel looks lovely. Pool great. Great location. Only thing that let it down was the breakfast. We arrived at 10am in the morning and there was no bacon. Scrambled eggs were dry and the offering...
