My partner and I stayed here last weekend ( 17/3/17 ) it was a last minute decision to stay, and there was very little accomodation left in Hanmer, we normally wouldn't have considered a youth hostel, but after staying here, I would not hesitate to look at them in the future. We were met by a lovely Asian woman, who was...

This a pleasant surprise to our journey through New Zealand. Hanmer Springs is a beautiful place to visit and the Lodge was walking distance to everything in town. We stayed in room 20 which is their best and most quiet room although noise was never a problem. There is a community kitchen with full cooking facilities, a lounge and outdoor...

This nice, quiet and tidy hostel is well run and the hosts are very helpful. It's a very short easy walk to the thermal pools, and to the shops, and to the many walking trails in the area. Plenty of free parking onsite. Kitchen is very clean, and a nice spot to sit and socialise with the many different guests...

Walking distance to Hanmer Spring. Clean and tidy place. They got a huge TV! That's the biggest I ever seen in so many hostels. Will recommend friend to stay in in future. Please book early if is peak season.

Clean, cheerful, and caters for all age visitors. Kitchen is well equipped and functional. Free wifi and it works well. Lounge contains huge TV screen for TV or viewing movies. Only 400m walk to spa and shops. Close to the highway if you are hatching rides.

This is a lovely YHA with a home away from home feel. The YHA and rooms are beautifully decorated, with beds made on arrival. The kitchen is small but has everything you need and feels more homely and less industrial. The hostel doesn't have many toilets and bathrooms, but there are no long queues. The TV lounge is small but...

This is a really nice place: very clean(!), close to town centre, more than enough parking spots, large kitchen, giant flatscreen tv, DVD collection, laundry facilities...you name it. Only two things that need improvement: fly screens on the windows would prevent the masses of moths and mozzies, and charging guests for Wifi is simply an absolute no-go in 2017!:(

I've been in New Zealand traveling around for a while now and stayed in motels and hotels all over..this is one of the better places I've stayed in. I was a bit reluctant at the sound of a 'back packers' and the fact that it was quite reasonably priced, but it turned out to be a great place! Really clean...
