All this hotel lacks is a bit of love and attention to detail and it would be sensational.
Just a bit of pint, some filling and a bit of a scrub where and there.
It looks stunning, the design and lines are amazing, the infinity pool is great, food (breakfast lunch and dinner), and service excellent, bar is fun, views and position (a short walk/Tuk Tuk ride from town, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet) are perfect and the atmosphere is lovely.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

After 3 wonderfull weeks we spent in Peru, we wanted to have 3 nights vacation in Mancora in what is supposed to be one of the best hotels in the resort city.
We paid 120$ per night per room. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't worth the rate we paid . the entire hotel is in state of disrepair and negligence .old furnitures inside the room, as well as dirty curtains and corrosion on the shower's walls. Breakfast was the poorest we ever had in Peru. The rooms are noisy and stench of cooking fill the entire hotel.

It felt like a long drive from Tumbes airport to this hotel and we were looking forward to some relaxation after 4 weeks touring Peru. It was chaotic on our arrival. The photocopier wasn’t working do our passports were taken away to copy, we were told to ask for welcome drinks in the restaurant but the waiter didn’t speak English so didn’t understand us, it said on the board there were mojitos available but after 30 minutes we were told there was no barman to make them, we ordered food which took ages to arrive, the white wine wasn’t chilled and then there were ladders and workmen in the corridors. We complained at reception that we had a bad start and we were told that the drinks would be taken off our bill at the end (which they weren’t) and the manager would be informed.
On the next night we ate dinner in the hotel and all the food - starters and main courses arrived at the same time so we had to eat the hot main courses before the cold starters! The food itself was very good.
After deciding to use Google translate we communicated well with the waiter and he was really pleasant, just desperately in need of training.
The rooms were spacious, very ‘white’, clean and had great views out to sea. The wifi in the rooms worked well. It was easy to walk in to town along the sandy beach.
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights but the manager never came near us - a pity as we could have given some constructive advice. It wouldn’t take much to create a far better impression and make it into a good hotel.

The hotel is in a quiet and private area and downtown Mancora is a five minute mototaxi ride from there. .
The hotel has a private beach and a lovely pool. The breakfast is good but the restaurant food is so so, you are better off going to downtown restaurants in Mancora. Overall, a very good, medium size hotel with personable service and great location.

Knowing that Mancora is a town that people go for beach and booze and not much more we chose this hotel as it was one of only two with 4 star ratings, hoping that it would be decent.

The good:

- Staff was nice.
- Modern look and good view.
- Had A/C and it worked. An absolute must in Mancora due to the heat.
- The bed and pillows were comfortable.
(So if all you care about is beach and booze, this might be a good hotel for you)

The bad:

- Immediately upon entering we noticed the poor maintenance. Even though it was the start of the beach season the walls were stained and banged up, they had not painted, possibly in a year or two.
- The shower floor looked dirty.
- The toilet cubbyhole had a curtain, not a door.
- The terrace sliding door had the lock broken.
- Had wifi, but it was so bad as to be unusable. My wife's laptop downloaded exactly 6 emails... With nearly 250 pending (according to her phone over cellular).
- Breakfast starts at 8:00, and nothing else in town appears to open earlier. So, if younhave an outing (like diving) that starts early, you are out of luck. When we asked they did give us some sandwiches and a thermos of coffee for breakfast the night before, not good... But better than nothing.

I summary, terrible. Not because of the basic infrastructure but because of a horrible job of keeping it well maintained and well managed. The owners are clearly not involved in the operation and they probably rely on totally unsupervised minimum wage staff.

One good bit of news... We didn't expect to see anything better in town, but while taking a walk we saw a small hotel in town that was undergoing some work (turned out they were making a pool and some remodeling) but looked interesting. We went in to look and they showed us a room, which was much more up to our standards. I have no idea about their prices but we got their card and I plan to go there in our next trip to Mancora. The place is called Arya, in Av Piura 324.

MANCORA MARINA HOTEL is a new alternative for people travelling to Mancora. MMH has been created to host the high end traveler who has been looking for a place in the beautiful beaches in the north of Peru. The More location of the hotel is very close to downtown in "Pocitas" Beach (just 5 minutes by car) but at the same time is far enough, so you can feel a very relaxing atmosphere. From the hotel you can see the beautiful landscape formed by the fishermen’s wharf, as well as their fishing boats. Less
